Quote:Hint: don't fall into the "fiteklub" routine - i.e. don't roll a melee character and then stand in melee range with another character clicking powers until someone dies, and refusing to use inspirations, travel powers, and accolades/other buffs.Greeting's Heroes and Villains.
I kinda want to get into PvP but it seems i have no idea about Zone PvP enough to live or kill. 1v1 I'm not to bad(in the Ring) and i would like to make 2 or 3 PvP Based toons(Hero Villain and soon[TM] GR).
Pro's and Con's:
-For each AT(all24)
-Power's
-Which Zone they do 'best'
Edit to say: I'm on Freedom. -
I'm not saying EM is bad, I'm saying Elec is better given how Thunderstrike figures its crits.
-
Vince ASing bad tanks doesn't count. A solo Stalker will never kill a competent Tank in a 1v1 situation (not fiteklub, we're talking PvP here). Also, you want Elec, not EM.

Well, let's see. Got a friend of mine into the game a while after I started - he stayed around for about 4 months, got bored, and left. Some time later I reactivated his account (with his permission, of course) to strip IOs and inf off his characters, but I eventually decided to just keep the account active.
These days I usually use the accounts for dual-boxing various encounters (TFs, farming, PLing, clearing my own missions, etc.). Very handy since it means I can have a buffbot along for the ride if I really want to, and I can have multiple characters logged on for whatever is needed. -
The problem with this is I have multiple 50s on Infinity that I really don't want to pay $10 a pop to transfer to Freedom (EM/WP Stalker, Fire/Kin Corr, Son/Rad Corr).

DM/SR was good in I13 when elusivity was at 30%. Now it's at 10% and people running Tactics and Aim/BU will act like your secondary's not even there.
-
-
I would still put Sonic above Rad, because the stun has a longer range and since it's not part of your regular attack chain you're more likely to slot it as a stun (unless you're using some creative slotting on Cosmic Burst). I think in arena matches where everyone's got quite a bit of resistance on their own, -res is a more appreciable secondary effect than -def.
-
WP has a few neat toys to play with, notably built-in perception, repel protection, and a self-heal identical to the one in Regen. However, Regen has more survivability outside of hide (Recon, DP, IH, MoG) so if things go south and phase/Hibernate isn't up you're more likely to live through it on a Regen. Just remember that a PvP Stalker is often a tight build and you'll need to figure out exactly what you're looking for to get all your necessary powers in.
-
The only time WP with Aid Self will outperform Fire is in some fiteklub situations (i.e. both people standing in melee clicking buttons until someone dies). Basically, between free PvP resists, Temperature Protection, and sometimes the Winter's Gift slow resist IO, a Fire Brute can achieve very impressive movement and recharge slow resistances, and there are plenty of places to slot -KB IOs to make up for the lack of in-set knockback protection. Toss in Fiery Embrace (backing up Rage and Fury) and you're capable of putting out respectable burst damage in melee. As an example, here's my SS/Fire/Mace build (note that this build is designed around teaming, so my role is limited to taunting and webbing to disrupt the other team's damage spikes, and occasionally getting into melee and tossing KO Blow once in a while).

Don't forget that when the new ladder was still going, there was no option to disable heal decay so all the matches were run with DR off, so there were like two or three ways to get a kill unless the other team's Emp was AFK or something.
-
-
Fire >>>>>>>> WP both offensively and defensively.
-
Yeah, bring your MM heroside when Going Rogue comes out. Other than that, no.
-
Also I am pretty sure the reason someone said "lol energy" is because the OP said "don't say lol energy."
-
Not every pulse - every 10 seconds. Sticking procs in toggles is usually a waste unless you absolutely don't need the slots elsewhere.
-
Quote:Okay, we can understand why you build how you do - but you just threw that build into the thread without any qualifications as to why you built that way. Usually if you're going to throw up an oddball build you should say why.I never said don't take SS, I merely explained why I personally don't have it.
-
Build for lots of HP, build for KB protection, get Phase if you can (if not, the Warburg or purchased temp phase can help keep you alive in zones). You don't need any personal attacks unless they're mezzes (to toggle drop someone after you).
-
Nope. Just get really good at clicking while you and your target are moving, or get good at angling your camera to reduce the number of targets you can see (and hence tab through).
-
Melee in-set heals aren't supposed to trigger HD... they didn't at first but I think that broke when they released I13 and they haven't fixed it.
-
It's still bugged because no one plays Widows anymore so no one caught it during I16 beta when the rest of the powers were fixed. (Also, Widows are the only epic AT with toggle KB protection and the devs have a tendency to forget the epics when they're making adjustments to similar powers for the other ATs.)

1. Brutes don't cut the grade anymore. The only advantage they have over a Scrapper is that their webnade doesn't give -KB.
If you're serious about a Brute, go SS/Fire/Mace, and get onto teams and spam taunt and webnades, since that's all a Brute's good for these days. (No, I'm not joking.)
