Mine is Leviathan but I mostly do duels and 2v2s on it (the occasional kickball as well, but I've found Leviathan does fine there too).

You would have zero dimes, because there's no way a TP/Fly team will get kills in an arena match. (Well, they might be able to pull off a random kill or two, so if your definition of "winning" is "getting a kill" then you'd've won, but if your definition of "winning" is "getting more kills than the other team" you'd lose pretty badly.) They might get kills in zone thanks to heal decay and travel suppression (assuming they're basically all Blasters), but by that same token they'll get farmed pretty brutally if the other team has half a brain. Again, you're talking about strategies working in a zone, where the environment is anything but competitive and most of the players are mediocre at best and downright terrible at worst. If you think getting kills against bad players by using some oddball strategy that wouldn't work against an intelligent team is skillful or makes you an out-of-the-box thinker, I'm sorry but you're no better than they are. If you think a fly/TP team would work in an arena match... like Con said. Get 7 other players, get into a match. Watch what happens.
-
Anything /shield or /SR really, assuming you invest in enough IOs to softcap.
-
After reading Con's post quoting several of yours, I doubt I'll take the time to view your posts from here on out. Congratulations, you found a place for a teleporting flying AR/Dev in a zone. Those of us with half a brain have found a place for those as well - webnaded and AS'd, respawning in the hospital. If you think you're unique or thinking out of the box because most zone players are too stupid to look up, I'm not sure what to tell you.
EDIT: Oh and lol @ thinking an 8-man fly/TP team will win an arena match against an 8-man SS/SJ team. Sure they might be outmaneuvered, but if you think you're actually going to get kills that way, that's laughable at best. Webnades negate all your vertical movement. You have to take the time to activate the Teleport power and point it at a destination. During that time you're completely stationary and a prime target for an AS or other type of spike. Meanwhile the other team is able to be constantly moving unless they're mezzed. Good luck using TP Foe as well, that 1/2-second phase period will make any debuff patches you set up pretty much worthless (and that's assuming the other team doesn't bring a Kin just for that purpose). -

As I said ingame, it's not nearly as exciting as it used to be, but the power is still fairly good. I'm still sad that I finished IOing my Fire/Psi about two weeks before the Dom changes went to test ;_;

Quote:6/10Dahjee is one of the best and the most innovative vet pvp'r I have met since CoV released. Still now i'm amazed to watch him pvp with a non FoTM and destroy FoTM's jumping around. He is a unique player with wide range of ideas! He is one of the vet Dom pvpr left before perma dom was invented and after the nerf. Still now he stands tall.
He actually makes sense though, if we all let our "pride" down and annalize. PvP (zone) has come to a state where everything is about soloing, where every AT has to be a blaster or a dmg dealer (FoTM)... Where is the fun? This is why I still love Virtue RPvP.
...and it is true, PvP forum is a joke come on now. All I read is "I'm the best and you're not", yet we complain about fixing pvp when you guys seem to do well... What is there to fix? Hahaha... it just puzzles me... Atleast the Devs now know what AT's to nerf LAWL...
...and to be honest any blaster even if it is ice can kill sh**. AR? dude AR is fire........ >.> <.< Fire is fire. You do not need IO's to get a kill. AIM and BU alone can kill without enhancements! Please.......... if you are proud to play AR blaster we are NOT SURPRISE..... The Devs made every blaster sets equal and playable.
Good effort, execution falls flat on its face. -
Quote:It'd actually have a chance to proc on you when you summoned the pet (same as the BU proc) but after that it would apply only to the pet it's slotted in. Since with few exceptions pets were changed to ignore recharge buffs/debuffs, it's generally a wasted slot and it makes my Thugs/Dark MM mad because I haven't wanted to use a respec just to pull it out of my Bruiser.Simple question.. What happens if I slot a Force Feedback proc in a pet or Pseudo pet power? Like Phantasm? Or even Sleet? Will the pet get the recharge (In which case it's useless on the Sleet) or would I get it? I know the proc says "Chance for 100%+ recharge to self", but need to make 100% sure.
Thanks
On a side note, some pets that got decent mileage out of the Force Feedback proc (Bruiser and Phantasm being the two biggest ones) can still use the Explosive Strike proc to their advantage. It's a damage proc, but on pets like Phantasm and Bruiser where almost all their attacks do KB/KD, it adds to their damage output quite a bit. -
Sorry, but your rather cynical and misguided point of view will only work on the most gullible forum-goers. Those of us who have been around long enough have refuted every piece of "logic" you've thrown at us yet you still come back for more, and those new players who come in hoping for advice see all of ours versus the few "NO YOU GUYS ARE WRONG" posts you like to make. Guess which people they'll listen to?

Values are very different for characters under level 50, as there's often very little supply (or in some cases even demand) for some recipes at non-max level, making things slow to move on the market and price data not exactly reliable. That being said, on my 50s I generally roll half-and-half in the 10-14 and 40-45 ranges. If I were rolling on a 30 I'd probably do half-and-half 10-14 and 30-35.
-
Quote:...which would accomplish exactly nothing no matter how many times you did it, as odds are fairly good that the rolls you end up getting on live will not be close to what you get on test. Might you get some IOs common between your rolls? Sure. Is it a good indicator of what you'll likely get? Not even close.anyone contemplating the random roll might want to go over to test take the few minutes to roll randomly and see how what they get plays out
That's like saying "go online and play craps there, so you know what you'll get when you go to the casino and do it for real." Sorry, doesn't work that way. -
Teehee. I have a few more avatars in the rotation that I'll switch to sometime, they'll probably be a bit less bandwidth-intensive.

Quote:I'm not going to debate that you can't do decently on a Fort provided it's built right, but the abundance of SS/ characters and people who still build with +acc in mind can give defense-based builds (everything, not just Forts) a hard time. If I'd spent the time and inf on it before I13, and it were a character I were somewhat attached to, I'd probably respec it and continue to play it, but in the case of many of my characters they were fast 50s that I can replace without much fuss.Just for the record, the few of us who kept playing our forts and adjusted for the current system do just fine. Fotm psi/em blasters and mind/fire doms really aren't a problem. It's to the point where I can't get them to duel me in the arena. Colds are difficult, and therms are only beatable when the RNG isn't a ******.
-
Quote:Movement slows got hit hard, recharge slows are pretty much the same. Biggest thing is some powerset combinations can stack insane amounts of movement slow (Ice/Cold is one of those builds), enough to the point where you can get to pre-I13 levels. That reminds me. I stopped pvp'n when i13 came out and just got back in to it a few weeks ago. I could have sworn I heard slows were nerfed. Someone please tell me why every time a cold is on the other team I have no ******* powers up and can't move for ****? The nerf apparently phailed. Just saying.
-
Thanks for the build, I'll take a look into it. I was doing some more thinking (odd for me, yes) and struck on an Ice/Kin Controller. It's no Ice/Cold obviously but you could make it slow decently I think. Thoughts?
EDIT: Replace the TotN proc in Transfusion with an acc IO.

Quote:Ludicrous analogies aside, let's compare that to something in the game. I know a few people who had well-IO'd and accoladed Forts before I13, and they're now wishing they'd invested that time and inf in something else. It's like deciding who to put Forge on - you can put Forge on that Tanker and boost his relatively low damage modifier to more respectable levels, or you can put Forge on that Blaster and boost his insanely high damage modifier to even higher levels. Given the choice between the two, I know very few people who would give Forge to the Tanker, because most people want the best results in a given situation. Basically what I'm saying is, if you want to spend a lot of inf and time on a sub-standard build, I won't stop you. I've tossed around builds for oddball set combinations, and it's made me do a lot of number-crunching to see what works best for those particular builds. However, you'd be foolish to suggest that you would not get a far better return on your investment by working on a build that is more suited to the task at hand (sure a Rad/Elec Defender can farm, but why do that when you can use a Fire/Kin, which would be cheaper and much more efficient?).
My Geo is IO'ed and purpled out... with Ferrari-seeking missles attached to it's top. Ready! Imagination works! Sometimes people believe something makes no sense before they've stopped to ask whether they understood in the first place.
Quote:If someone wants advice on his/her AR/Ice blaster... they should be told and/or coached on the sets greatest streghths and weaknesses IMO. That's probably what they want. For example... the fact that AR/ is the only set that leaves no trails so it it makes for a terrific Range boosted snipe/scourge spike/kite/stealth teams... with teleport/hover (/shock) But cooridinated teleport/spiking in PvP is unheard of you say? Ya, I know. Useless Primaries and secondaries and the synergies they producd should of died long ago simply for the fact that even a less used power can always be a mule that offers prefered bonuses via IOs. No one speaks of such advantages much when "telling the truth" about a set's viability. Some people believe it or not spend months on toons and just want to make them work in PvP... Rerollling at 50 is absurd to some. Advice on how to do so should be found here... but it is often not unless the set meets the requirements of PvP as stated by who exactly? A group of 10?! Respect to all but if that's the case I shoudn't be the only one callin for a wiser bunch. Cookie cutting gets old and stale.
Quote:If you are however open to suggestions... I'd offer to maybe get the word out to zone teams to start making binds that say... "Our Teammate is being spiked by $Target! let's use our damage specc'ed support and control builds to actullay stop our teammates from getting ganked over and over instead of running off to spike the helpless /emp for the 7th time" or something like that. Find a good "Anti-Spike" bind that actully makes the King of Spike builds useful to and for builds that arent for spiking.
Quote:That view differs greatly from much of the advice given here. One would believe that all PvP toons are Spike toons, which turns into everyone wanting to know if their non-spike toon can be made into a spike toon... and we know what they're told.
Quote:Again with all due respect, if someone asks a question that you can't answer... just say you don't know. "ya know... I just don't know how to make AR/Dev into a killing machine". "I don't know what travel powers pool powers an AR/Dev should take or what strategeis they should implore to be a killing machine in PvP... It may or may not be possible... I just don't know"
It's that easy. "Reroll as a X" is what you reply to the question "What should reroll my X as"?
You can even tell how your Psy/Em gets 200 more kills a day more than your AR/Dev does based on the way you play it, and that your AR/Dev wouldn't survive if you played it the same way... but don't assume to know what's possible for all... I'm pretty sure that's when learning stops, and you don't wanna stop learning if your supposed to know it all ya know. -
Quote:Yep they'd have to hit on the same server tick (every 0.25 seconds, I believe). Hard to coordinate even before you figure in client/server lag and any voice communication the two might be using. I wouldn't count on it ever happening, and if it does, it's basically a freak coincidence.I have a question for you guys also about KB. Say 2 /energy doms slotted up power push for max KB and a blaster/squishy in general has the KB protection to stop 1 power push how close together would the 2 doms have to attack in order to combine the KB of the power pushes and KB the squish?

Debating a new support/disruption character for KBs, league/ladder matches, and zones. Can't decide between Grav/FF, Grav/Kin, or both... here are the builds I'm looking at for both, any feedback as to which I should choose? Was thinking the Grav/FF would be nice because of Force Bolt, Force Bubble, Wormhole, and the two cages, and Grav/Kin would be nice because of SB's slow resist, Wormhole, and the cage.
Grav/FF (this build does not have enough HP and I can't figure out how to get more without messing something up):

Dont get me wrong... perhaps 25% of the time one can get some useful info. Most often though it's quite sad to see the same ol shat coming outta different toliets.
I don't mean to offend, and I'm not saying I'm better best good bad etc... I just have different defintions so debates are usually pointless here.
Seriously, let us know when you find good team and solo PvP strategies comparable to the ones we've established and have been using, and maybe we'll actually take your opinion into account. -
You are going to want enough to stop Power Push (41) at least, as that'll save you from 90% of the knockback that happens. The other 10%? Just hope the other team's not coordinated enough to capitalize on it.
