1. It's a good idea, but like the "lower accuracy from range" idea, I don't think it can be done given the current engine.
2. Hmm, that sounds awful similar to the way that other superhero MMO is going to work...
3. Cold/Sonic, maybe Cold/Dark. In the current state of PvP, Corruptors are much more useful than Defenders. Rads are decent if you're careful about your toggles but nothing like they once were.
4. <QR>

Nothing exceptionally interesting except a bunch of broad generalizations about potential future updates. Ah well.
5. Dammit, I thought I was going to be witty and say "51" but it appears I'm late to the party.
6. [ QUOTE ]
In PvP pool powers often do more damage than your primary. I don't know why, and discussing it would derail your topic.

However, the way things work now, you will be more effective taking attacks from pool powers than many of the set. Hence, why a dual build is recommended - one for PvE, and one for PvP.

If you take Dark Melee, you will take it to use Siphon Life and Midnight Grasp. Everything else you'll rely on pool powers for.

[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much this. The given logic for pool powers doing such high damage is due to 1) their activation times, 2) they're powers every AT has access to, and 3) they are available for people whose primary attack set might not be quite up to par. I'm not really sure I agree with that, but it's what I was told. Personally I see point 3 as being a case to look at powersets instead of saying "fine, take these pool attacks instead, screw your attack set" but that's neither here nor there.

To answer the OP though, take a look at Energy Melee and Fiery Melee.
7. Like I said, wish it had more HP, but I get what I can take. Toying around with swapping out Power Mastery for Psi Mastery (for TK to help set up spikes) but nothing set in stone as of yet.
8. Con, stop looking for all the topics that have "PvP" in them.

Earth/Energy

Ehh, I have it on mine. Limited usefulness though.
10. Here's my Emp/Dark build. Only thing I wish I could do is squeeze some more +HP out of the build but I think that's as high as I can get it without a lot more work or expensive sets.

11. Testing seems to put them right around 1 per 100 kills.
12. I'm assuming you're not on Freedom, Infinity, or Pinnacle?

Even if the build he made is a PvP build, it's pretty bad regardless of whether he intends to solo.

Nope they learned the hard way. . . NEVER, NEVER release an Issue on a Friday.

I suspect a Thursday before a holiday where a majority of employees will be on vacation starting Friday so that there can be an unsupervised long holiday weekend of glitches and abuse....but I guess I'm being pessimistic...

It may be a challenge, but we are heroes. We live to fight adversity!

Yes, there's so much new stuff to abuse in I15.

Troller PVP?

With the changes to slows and toggle dropping, Ice is "meh" at best.
15. Hrm... might end up with the 32-bit version anyways, just because it's easier to find drivers and there's less worry about compatibility issues. I guess that's worth more to me than being able to use the other 768MB of RAM.

However, I know USMT is a command-line tool, and I have a dislike for command line apps (one of the reasons I've yet to really embrace Linux). I'll have to dig around in the documentation, unless there's an equivalent app with a GUI.

EDIT: It also seems to me that the documentation for USMT is written as though it's purpose is to migrate from one computer to another, not to a clean install of an OS on the same computer (i.e. wipe the hard drive and install).
16. Blackstar no. Absorb Pain - you'd be doing a great disservice to your team to skip that power, especially in situations with heal decay (PB'd Absorb Pain is one of the only worthwhile heals once heal decay has fully kicked in).
17. I balk at clean installs because that's all that time I lose trying to reinstall my programs, copy files back to where I want them, make sure permissions are right, and tweak all my settings. I know there's a chance something could go wrong when I do an upgrade install, but that's a risk I'm more than willing to take (never done a clean install when putting a new OS on, except when I went from Vista back to XP, and I've never had problems resulting from the upgrade). If problems do happen, oh well, I can deal with them.

Of course I'll end up doing a clean install anyways since I'll be wanting to use the 64-bit version of Windows 7, but that brings up the matter of what to back up and how to do it. When I upgraded from Vista to XP (yes, upgraded) I realized I'd forgotten to copy several folders off my desktop, which had contained my Mids builds. Spent several hours digging around in recovery utilities to get those files back.
18. SS/Fire Brute and Fire/Kin Corruptor.
19. <QR>

Disappointed to see that the "upgrade" from XP to 7 is actually a clean install. Of course I'm planning on upgrading to the 64-bit version (running 32-bit XP Pro right now) so I guess it's really a moot issue. Just gotta figure out what I want saved, and how I'm going to do it.
20. PvP in this game has never been CC-based.

pvp question

I would take Phase, no questions asked. I'd pick Shadow Meld over Hibernate additionally, but that's because my Stalkers are almost exclusively Willpower and Shadow Meld works very well with WP.

MA/SR in PvP?

MA is decent (not good, not bad), SR is not so good outside of Elude.
