  1. Yes, but Dispersion Bubble isn't a pet like FFG is - it's your own power so it gets the benefits of PBU.

Fire, but if you absolutely must have Invuln or WP, go Invuln.

    Liquefy Slotting

Since HO's can be slotted in anything that accepts even one aspec of what it enhances, you can slot an HO that's intended to be a debuff in a buffing power and it works.

That's what i'm talking about. I accually have 3 membrans in my rad/sonic veng power. Seeing as how IO's do pretty much the same thing, in bypassing the no recharge aspec of the power, in my mind, a membrane isn't braking the rules in that power. since it's a buff and membranes are intended to be buffs.

And like Solo said, the odds of the dev's ever accualy fixing this is slim. They'd have to introduce a new power or powerset that HO can REALLY exploit in that manner before it'd be a big enough issue to worry about. Only a hand full of powers can be modified in this way.
That's what I said - the reason buff Hamis will work in a debuff power is because the game system treats buffs as positive values and debuffs as negative values instead of two separate systems. Damage and damage resistance are also tied together somewhat, which is why slotting a Centriole into a Therm or Sonic shield will boost the damage resistance granted by that power.
  4. I like the last two changes, third one maybe not. Guess we'll see.

Would Walk disable the stealth IO immediately, or would it take the usual 120 seconds to disable?
  6. I'm of the opinion that it takes too much time and coordination for something that's supposed to be a simple distraction. 6 merits and 20 canes (8 merits if you're around for the GM kill before the event) is a puny reward for a 30-minute event that may or may not succeed. Apparently having people farm GMs for two weeks out of every year (four if you count Halloween) is such a terrible occurrence that the system needed to be completely redone to stop it. Who knew?
  7. I'd pay a couple bucks per character for all the accolades.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't - if we keep PvPing we send the message that we're okay with the changes, and if we don't PvP then there is no reason for NCSoft to decide it's worth sinking more resources into. We also can't forget that it seems to take a long time to datamine for anything that isn't a ham-fisted change (elusivity got changed very quickly after I13, and it was like night and day - defense went from really good to mediocre at best). It seems as though things don't get changed unless a lot of people are using/abusing the mechanics.

Personally I think the best course of action is to continue PvPing with what we've got and keep pushing suggestions for improving the system. Don't really think we've got anywhere to go from here but up.
  9. I was confuse-griefing a few teammates on my Earth/Nrg Dom while running an Ice Mistral a few weeks ago - no one had Tactics and I figured I wouldn't let a simple confuse from one of the CoT bosses stop my attack chain, so Power Push + Fossilize + Total Focus was my way of telling the Kin to keep his buffs up >.>

    Liquefy Slotting

Castle commented on this sometime during I12 beta when it was brought up that Membranes would decrease the recharge time of Mind Link (the post has since been eaten by the forum monster). He basically said such abilities were an "unintended" benefit of Hami-Os because of how the enhancement system works, but it was extremely unlikely to be fixed because it would require so much work to "solve" a few fringe cases. Three Membranes is certainly not the cheapest slotting for Liquefy, but given three slots it's the best slotting.

    PVP IO Drops

Drop rate is seemingly somehwere between 1 in 50 and 1 in 100. Back when arena farms were still profitable I was averaging 60 kills per 30-minute match and usually got one recipe per match. Don't really know what the rate is now that they're tied to rep, although many people I've spoken with believe that the rate is lower than it used to be.
  12. Confused owner = confused pets. It's always worked that way IIRC, whether the "pets" are MM pets, patron pets, or just summoned pets like traps. I remember an RSF where the trapper set up his stuff just outside the door where the Vindicators were, someone opened the door early, and Malaise nailed him with a confuse. That was fun.
  13. It's almost a shame it seems to be occurring more often than the zombie event - the structure of the apocalypse event almost requires larger amounts of people and more coordination among those involved, which is unlikely now that the Halloween event is over and people are back to doing normal content.
  14. I did not have issues with Elec before the change, I'm not having issues now. It's probably on-par with Invuln I'd say.
  15. Didn't take much time to dig the build apart but you're going to want to stick recharge in Painbringer before you put anything else in there. Move the Miracle +recovery from there into Health.

EDIT: Working on a new build in Mids right now, I'll have it up in a bit.

EDIT EDIT: Try this on for size, it's not perfect but it's what I came up with in about 15 minutes of tooling around.

  16. If you check out the PvP forums, there's a threat just started with builds for a DM/Nin. Take a look over there, people know what they're talking about. Just know that PvP is quite different from PvE, and if you want to know more about it your best bet is to ask around here or check out the patch notes from Issue 13.
  17. I'm not entirely sure how repel bonuses work, but I assume if you stacked the 10% chance four times you'd end up with a 40% chance for 1000% repel resistance. The check would presumably be made as often as most repel powers pulse, which is once every 0.75 seconds.

If you're looking for more detailed information on powers, your best bets are the in-game power numbers as well as City of Data.
  18. Problem with Warshades is their lack of self-contained buffs and heals.
  19. Repel and KB are different mechanics. The only way to get repel protection is to be one of the melee defense sets that gets it (some get it in their mez protection power, like Shields or Willpower, and some get it in their tier 9, like Regen), team with a Kin with ID, or get it through set bonuses from the PvP IOs. Knockback protection is in every armor set's mez protection (except Fire, Dark, and Elec, though Elec gets limited KB protection elsewhere), and you can get it through the various KB IOs, Kinetic Crash, some PvP IOs, or teaming with a Kin with ID.

Nin is decent because of all the tricks it has - Blinding Powder, Caltrops, and the self-heal, namely. Some love defense builds and some hate them, though they seem to perform decently if you invest a lot in IOs to build your HP and ranged defense.

    Quote:
WP has all around stuff, but the RttC is an offensive toggle, so the regen from it won't really help most of the time.
Stalker version has Reconstruction instead of RttC. WP is a good PvP Stalker set because it has decent resistances, a bit of regen, and can cap HP on its own with minimal accolade or set bonus involvement (you can get about 30-40 points off the cap just by slotting High Pain Tolerance).

    Quote:
Regen is regen, and on a stalker it seems like getting burst damage will kill you outright
You shouldn't be getting hit by too much burst damage, as your role in PvP as a Stalker is to AS and maybe throw in a followup attack, and then get out. If you start taking lots of damage you've got Reconstruction and Dull Pain, and MoG is arguably the best tier 9 in the game for any AT. Part of Regen is learning how to anticipate damage spikes so you can time your heals properly.

    Quote:
Electricity is a resist based set, so you can get it to 60% or so easily, but you can also get 20+ def with IO sets, and 55% with Shadow Meld. Now add in a self heal, recharge and an endurance/regen buff. That seems like a pretty strong combo, so why does this not work?
DR will drop those resistance numbers pretty heavily and incidental defense is largely worthless without elusivity to back it up. Resistance sounds nice in theory but a Stalker has low HP to begin with, which means that resistance doesn't go as far. Even after the buffs to Elec, it's still not a good Stalker secondary.

    Quote:
Is Hibernate a better option than Shadowmeld?
Depends. Defensive-minded people will pick Soul Mastery because it means they'll give up some ranged damage for a mini-MoG power, and offensive-minded people will pick Leviathan Mastery because Spirit Shark is ridiculously OP'd, but Hibernate can be a death sentence especially in zones.
  21. /WP, /Regen, /Nin. Elec is bad.
  22. In response to the OP: this is a generally bad idea. MM buffs being AoE is purely a QoL issue - the buffs don't apply to the owner, and all the buffs do is give pets new powers, as opposed to buffing the pets. Additionally, pets are limited by their AI programming - they won't be able to perform nearly as well as a player in a given situation. I may not like putting SB back on every 90 seconds, or Sonic/Therm shields every 4 minutes, but making those powers PBAoE would mean I'd need to wait for my teammates to gather on me before using them, the recharge would be longer, and they wouldn't be as effective (for an example of what I'm talking about, see World of Pain). I'd rather jump around through my teammates, hitting them in order when possible and getting to others when it's not.

    Max Recharge

I think the question should be "how much recharge have you put into your Dom build without completely gimping it?" I've seen /Energy Doms use Kinetic Crash in their blasts just to get more recharge but that sacrifices quite a bit of damage. My Fire/Psi has 116% recharge without Hasten and the build is somewhat odd, but it works very well (I took several powers I never use simply as IO mules, for example).
