Quote:You keep mentioning debuffs. And I personally keep tossing out your exaggerations. No single debuffing class is going to solo as quickly and as safely as a /shield. Stacked debuffs? Like, say, 4 fire/rads? So you want to compete with multiple characters' ability? So making the case that SD was monstrously overpowered is a case of exaggeration; nothing can approach the OPness of stacked buffs and debuffs.
My Plant/Storm and Earth/Storm can solo x8... and at about 4x as long per spawn as it takes a /shield to do so. The same for my /Dark. My fire/kin can solo pretty quickly, but one mis-step and I'm dead. You seem to think debuffs are on a pedestal. Well, they are... it's the price those classes pay for not being able to two-shot a spawn like a SS/Shield or Elec/Shield or live through potential mistakes.
70% DDR. WTF, really. All this whining over the second-best DDR available in the game! What I wouldn't give to have HALF that on my new crab! Waaaah! Waaaah! I can't idle in the middle of 30 defdebuffing mobs for all eternity! Cry me a river. -
Wow. That is complete BS. One of the worst spammable Def debuffs in the game is autohit? Will go ahead and add my /bug to the presumed pile. Perhaps it'll get changed in 2 years' time.
-
Sucks.
-18.75% defAnd while it's supposedly tagged ranged & psionic, it seems like it *always* goes through capped ranged defense. Bug? Is it actually psionic only? If so, it might very well be worthwhile to find a spot for that 6th Apocalypse...

What I don't get is how the claim is being made that a bajillion inf /FA character surpasses /SD, while at the same time crying DOOM over SD's DDR reduction. NEWSFLASH: the tiniest bit of DefDebuff is going to severely hamper that overpriced /FA. But not the /SD.
Oh, and for the record, I always make 10-20 billion inf. builds on all my characters. And I still use Hami's. -
Personally, if I'm in a bind for slots, I'll go lotg + 2 cyto on defense toggles. You'd gain 1.7%def by doing so. Up to you. You definitely could use some endurance reduction in maneuvers whatever you do.
Why is miracle in DR btw? Would be better off throwing it in health and adding the theft of essence proc to DR instead. -
If you want ultimate DDR, you play SR. If you want to sacrifice DDR for damage you play Shields. If you want to be pretty with still even less DDR, you play EA.
This was honestly a long time coming. People wanted their cake and to eat it too with max DDR on shields. Just be glad you're not playing a bane. HAH! -
You're 6-slotting obsidian shield but underslotting maneuvers, weave, and cloak of darkness. Does not compute.

I'm in the process of getting barrier for the pets. And for myself during incarnate trials (I'm 45% capped elsewhere). My pets are basically perma - I have about 8 seconds downtime @193% recharge.
My problem lies in pets finishing a fight in the red - they could easily survive the next x8 spawn if they were topped off en route. -
Finally got the badge after many a roundabout in St. Martial. The progress bar was never visible... So this was definitely a bug for me.
-
I was thinking of shooting for one of the healing pets to heal spiderlings... good idea? If so, which do you all recommend? There's so many that it's hard to boil it down to just one without prior experience.
edit: in particular, I was wondering if the pets w/ an AoE heal used it well or not. -
I've checked and rechecked, but there's no sign of my Sorceror defeats on my badge list. Is this a bug anyone else has encountered? I've gone ahead and /bugged it but I'm leery of hunting these guys down redside, where they are few, if they're not even counting.

Well there goes any inclination for making a /dark assault dom.

Coming down to two builds:
(current) huntsman hybrid http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...C47F00C3C306AB
versus what I'm about to respec into: http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...ACFF028314FCBB
No redraw on the second, but the loss of a cone and one of my new favorite powers, Arctic Breath, makes me sad -
Well, I realize that, but, being a ranged character with leviathan, it would still be nice to have a somewhat solid ranged ST damage chain. While the other patrons have access to a good tier one attack power, Spirit Shark is pretty poor in this regard. As it stands, I have to hop into melee position for bayonet to form a [mostly] gapless attack order... taking myself out of cone position.
-
Well, got to 50. After a bit of skepticism w/ Leviathan's attack animations, it's really beginning to grow on me... you can fit everything in those cones!
My problem now is single target damage. What do Leviathan crabs do for ST damage? Spirit shark has an atrociously long animation for the damage it does, so it's out of the question. And pets are all fine and good, but they don't help if they happen to die =( Despite my love for Leviathan, I've been contemplating making the move to Scirocco to get my hands on a decent ST attack chain. -
As mentioned, a data chunk would be ideal. The culprit for any of your end woes is /Storm. On my beloved stormies, I shoot for at least 4end/sec after accolades (before any incarnates). Even so, the combo of Sleet --> Lightning Storm --> Tornado is very taxing.
-
I'm liking the gun attacks a lot more. My only regret is taking single shot over chaingun - even at a 50% longer animation time, the energy typed damage is nice. I have no such reservations about burst vs longfang though... 1.0 vs 2.0 animation for the same exact lethal damage?! That is really annoying.
-
Quote:Aye, that was my point; in retrospect, I was unclear on that partBut there will still be redraw between burst/single shot and suppression.
Going mako, so there'd be no redraw going into patron attacks, just coming out of them if I use the gun.
I went ahead and respec'd back into guns (single shot, burst, bayonet (for hard targets), and venom grenade) - my only crab attack is suppression at the moment... and it feels a lot beefier to me. -
I've been leveling a crab, currently at 38, and was thinking of respec'ing back into the gun attacks (except suppression). I find both chaingun and longfang woefully slow compared to their gun counterparts and was wondering if people have any experience with this same decision? Mainly, I'm worried about the redraw with suppression and patron attack.

SM vs WM: I used to love SM - it's smashtastic... but there's no denying that it's very AoE-light, whereas WM gets crowd control, whirling mace, and shatter to a lesser extent.
As to the OP, WP is a pretty braindead set that thrives on crowds, so any primary with decent AoE for those crowds will suffice. -
In its current form, Staff/DA will be dethroning my Kat/DA
It looks SO good! Good AoE + fluid motions, unlike that clunky TW set.
-
Yuck. Getting harder to like this set
-
A few days ago, I played around with the idea of reslotting my dusty kat/da. This build was something I came up with. As a caveat, I don't subscribe to the min/max mentality - I slot for survivability & fun above all. Nonetheless, it could give you some ideas you had not considered.
