City of Guides list, forum threads, word of mouth... City Of Guides doesn't have star ratings, only comments, which, IMO is wrong. When there would be more comments, features like "most useful positive and negative reviews" from Amazon would be very helpful.

Whilst I'm sure it's a worthy forum for the game, the bottom line is I'm not prepared to go search a different web site for good missions. Frankly I wouldn't search an official CoX NC/Paragon forum. I want it at my fingertips in the MA search function. Anything else is way below par and won't do it for me. Unless they can come up with something it's rendering the whole issue worthless.

The bonus of the external sites is that you can have a hand in the development of them, remember we are in the EU. We take up space not much more.
One quick one about the city of guides site. It does have ratings, but these are part of the comments. I always think it better to know why someone voted a rating rather than what they voted. It tells you so much more about the arc than 5 stars. Of course let me know if you think differently
As for which arcs to play. Do what I do, sort the arcs by date added. You get a whole slew of arcs that no one has played. Then jump in and have a go. I found some brilliant arcs that had 0 stars and not been on long. The 5 stars, developers choice and hall of fame mean nothing to me. I know I won't get up there as the 2 arcs I did were, well rubbish frankly, but a bit of a laugh. I intend to polish them and republish them at some point, but this make me realise that the rewards and the stars are just a back patting exercise. -
it comes up if you hit the large button in the nav box too.

Ok FAQ added

Can I suggest to turn this to sticky?
[/ QUOTE ]
I already did to Avatea and got an entry in the ma guides sticky at the top.
In addition to your mini guide let me add that if you have any ideas or suggestions to make the site better, make them on here or to me, no matter how small as all suggestions are gratefully received.
Also damn fine idea to have a how to. Thanks DonSaint
Edit:
Note to self. Add a FAQ section to the MA. -

Could you screen shot it please? I am using firefox 3.0.8 and it looks ok. IE buggers it up from time to time though. Not tried it in Opera, or chrome for that matter.

Ah now I see. Ok will see what we can do. Thanks for the info. -
Netscape navigator, now there is a blast from the past. Although it does live on in spirit. Now if you had said you were going to fire up a 386 with IE 1 on it.

Do you mean your own mission list? If so it is linked from the user page link at the top of the page. -

There was a couple of problems with the new update, these have now been corrected. Code release and hangovers don't work well. Thanks to Judgement_Dave and Master_Zaprobo for their assistance with the fixes.
-
I will also add that there are some other stuff being worked on for missions specifically, but we are still debating the best way to offer them up through the site.

Post from Emo that he has asked me to pass on. (one day I will get him to register on the forums or at least let me give out his global name
)
Hello,
Thanks to everyone who has registered, to all who have commented and Judgement_Dave for his excellent ideas for options on the mission arcs.
Anyway, that's starting to sound like an oscar speech. There's a new site update just gone up, and without wanting to do a patch notes post this is the new stuff.
<ul type="square">[*]I have added favourites to the site so you can keep track of arcs you really like. [*]When you log in any favourites and comments left since you last logged in will appear on that page. [*]New mission options in the edit page. These are optional and at present don't do much, the intention is to make these part of the search options so you can find arcs easier. [*]The default view for the missions is to put the newest missions added to the site to the top.[*]Fixed the pagination from busting the sort options.[/list]
There's some other stuff there too but that is hidden at the mo till I am happy with it.
Enjoy.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the suggestion is for outside editing of Missions ( i.e @ work, on my laptop :P ) and I seem to recall there was mention of the possibility of an official tool for this in one of the Pre I14 interviews.

Who says that's not what I ment? -
[ QUOTE ]
While I can't remember seeing an official statement about this, I don't see why they wouldn't be. The MA basically is only currently a fancy GUI for editing them.

Fixed that for you there.Someone one knows something
As I see it the MA files come under the same as demos. Since they exists as text files on your PC. Knock yourself out, I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Right up to the point where they hit the game and the upload to published it doesn't matter what content they have. The second you publish them they come under the same rules as everything else, see EULA for details. -
Or you could post it up here

I wonder who would be best for the role of annoying little git that repeats what was just said, tells you what people are about the say, and generally makes watching pointless as you already know what is going to happen.
It would have to be a NPC otherwise they would get punched to another planet. -
Cool it lets me in my login works

Here's a shocker, I haven't done the download to my live client, even yet.
-
Here's something that occurred to me. Since Paragon City follows real history and is influenced in similar ways. The television there would probably follow suit too. So if it did, television following that is, there would be a program like Dragons Den. So what inventions would end up on the show? and how long would the Dragons last when they say "wow that really is a piece of junk, how much of your life did you waste on it?"? Who would be the Dragons? Countess crey springs to mind, but I am not sure she should get her hands on any more toys.

They used to be my GFs favourite band. I prefer much more guitar in my music. Although I do quite like Steel Panther.
-
Ah now I had seen the options in game and assumed it was an idea that got abandoned at some point. The rest would be nice. Personally I would like an XML feed of my character, the same as they do on Eve. I can build the rest round it

A break will not chance the priority of the developers. What are their future goals, what was their goal with MA? (apart from making own farm maps). To give a group of players the chance to make their own, while it will fade away in the 'avalange' of MA missions available?
[/ QUOTE ]
Very true but it can change your own attitude towards it.
Ok n00b question of the day. City Vault wassat? -
I saw europe in london last time they came round. Most disappointing gig I have ever been to.
-
How about, take a break. Go into the wide open world, maybe play a little TF2, maybe have a run through an old favourite that's not an MMO. Then come back and beat the snot out of someone in the arena.

If memory serves statesman once said that the updates would be every 3 to 4 months. With the aim of getting 4 a year. So in a way saying 3 a year is a low estimate.

They are paranoid about taking too much or from the wrong card so they are over cautious
