    Salvage Exchange

I thought that there wasn't a cap on how much you could carry?

    Solo base/lair

    [ QUOTE ]
Have you seen Doctor Temporis' figures on the Union board regarding the costs of bases? According to his calculations, it will cost 910,000 prestige for a base with the bare minimum of functionality (ie. 1 worktable and the resources to power it).

    [/ QUOTE ]

He may need to look over those calculations again

    Rooms
    Energy Terminal 1 - 150,000
    Control 1 - 100,000
    Workshop 1 - 100,000

    Room total 350,000

    Items

    Basic Generator - 225,000
    Mainframe - 150,000
    basic worktable - 25,000

    items 450,000

    total 750,000

However that is the bare minimum and you would be wasting your arcance salvage

    Solo base/lair

    [ QUOTE ]
In the meantime, though, it's perfectly possible for a solo player to have a base of their own, but it will take you time (and probably a lot of it) to earn the Prestige for 'functional' items like teleporters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

functional items like decorative rooms, control rooms, power plant

I worked out that to have a base with the bare essentials to make use of any sort of salvage would cost 600k prestige. You get 20k from being in the group yourself. plus 20k for each member upto 15 (300k) so if you recuit 14 other people you are half way to getting a base that has any sort of functionality and you are no longer a solo player with there own base. I gained 200 prestige from completing a mission. So based on, and assuming a single person group, that I would need to complete 3000 missions to gain the prestige to make use of the salvage I have gained in those missions. (Yes I know I haven't taken into account the miniscule amount of prestige I can gain from a mission and street sweeping) However that been said I don't think that sg bases are something one person should be able to afford and run on there own.

    [ QUOTE ]
It is entirely possible that the Prestige costs for various base components will be fine-tuned over the coming months. However, I suspect that it will always require a significant amount of time and effort to earn a fully functional, raidable base - and a top of the line model with all the trimmings will take a very long time indeed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I made a suggestion on the beta boards but I don't remember the reaction. Something to make the bases much more RP friendly and to allow a small supergroup to have somewhere to call home. Drop the price of all the decorative rooms by a lot. So intead of a pretty room costing 150,000 it would cost 15,000. After all they are just decorations. You can't put power, control, teleporters, guns, mines, shields, IoP bases, or anything other than pretty stuff in them. Why do they cost as much as a generator room? The pretty bits would actually help base raids too. Each doorway is a possible starting point for a raider. So more rooms means more doorways. It would be a huge boost to a RP group, if they had a supergroup of 10 people they could build a very fancy base to RP in and not be bombarded by people OOC.

By the way I am not a role player as such I do occasionally but not often. However I do like pretty things so they should be cheaper.

    Naming minions

I saw someone running around with there undead the same as mine where in beta. There build was like mine in beta too.

    george
    mildred
    kenny

    benny
    lenny

I even had a macro for george and mildred for when kenny went splat. "oh my g0d they killed kenny", "you barstools"

My horde is much darker named now.

    Necrosis
    Atrophy
    Blighted

    Pain
    Panic

    Pool powers

I can recommend getting the leadership pools. The extra damage, accuracy and defence from these will give your pets an extra edge. As I am necro/dark I get group stealth in my secondary. It sure can give people a shock in the PvP zones to have a horde of undead suddenly appear and attack.

    Edit:

I forgot to add that if I remember correctly the leadership defence boost stacks with your bubbles and your bots bubbles. Uber tanking bots.

    Pet AI

I have noticed that my zombies are thick.A straight corridor with nothing other than enemies in it. command them to attack. One stands there, one dances backwards and forwards, the other goes for the enemy. As soon as one is close enough to launch a ranged attack all three attack and move closer. my Grave knight seems to think that my commands are suggestions as to what he's supposed to do. "Attacking Mamba Blade" he says as he goes after the hellion the other side of the street. Also why do zombies not understand "come here". move to, click on a point at my feet, the zombies say moving, 2 come to me but the first one stands there fighting on.

I think the Pet AI need a little tweaking, or a bigger bat issued to masterminds.

    Human/Nova

    Functional bases

I would like to build a base but with just decorations. I see the base more as a place to stand an lecture my puny minions. Its amazingly expensive for even the basic decorative rooms.

As for joining a larger Supergroup. No. I have seen some of the bases that people create. Blank rooms with no decoration, No thought other than must have x, y, z. No design other than stick that there. I have my own design ideas and some how I don't think that the larger supergroups would let me near there base design. To quote one person I asked "why would we let a n00b prat about with the base?"

We have plans for personal bases (aka Hideouts or Player Apartments) to come in the near future. These won't be PvP playable maps, so there shouldn't be as many restrictions on what you can place where.

    Build a base

The base built in this guide is very simple but it does give an idea how to build. Its also worth mentioning that in the beta you got a load of prestige for free. In the retail version you are going to have to earn it.
