So, anyone else having this kind of problem at WW? Any suggestions on what I can do to avoid this in the future?
one thing that I have found helps when I start getting this problem is to leave the zone and come back in. seems to reset something in my connection to the market. so I usually use Talos for the short commute to the train and back.

they did and it does not quite as easy to get a very low level character safely to the shard as it is to get a low level character to Grandville on the red side but just fly real high with the jet pack.

I had the same misunderstanding on Kismet for quite a while, until I asked some questions about a sample build someone had posted. I still get surprised by the descriptions on some powers or IOs, especially with understanding how some of the special procs or globals work.

if nothing else then, happy this thread may give you, and others that might read through it, some new ideas to use in their builds

Great. You don't see the need for the power. I get it. I thought your question was if other people were still taking the power besides you. All I was saying was that the individual needs to figure out what is more important to them. I thought that was clear, my bad. Other people do like to hunt +4's and pvp.

You can also get lots of recovery through bonuses that will help offset the heavy endurance cost of this power and still have even more accuracy, tohit debuff resistance and perception. Of course, That means a power pick, and some builds are tight.

Guess I only have fake reasons for taking it. Crap. Its a good thing we are all different. Otherwise the world would be a boring place.

In the end, it is a situational power pick for me. My DM/Regen scrapper loves it. My Spines/Fire... not so much.
Sinister - I was in no way saying you had no reason or "fake" reasons for taking the power. my reply to your previous post simply indicated that I wasn't following your comments. I couldn't tell if you were saying, for the way you played, that you stacked FA with things like the Kismet unique because you liked PvP or fighting +6 mobs in PvE. or whether you preferred using FA instead of boosting to hit and accuracy through IOs, and why.

as someone already clarified, the Kismet IO that I mentioned in my posts provides basically the same +to hit as FA.

and yes, I am interested in whether people still take FA, actually use it other than a mule for an IO set, and why. my comment was that, so far, most comments I saw mirrored my own experiences that it wasn't that much of a boost for fighting things under +4 or pvp. in no way was I trying to say that those things weren't important to other people, I think it's great that there are so many different ways to play this game.

whew! at first I thought you were directing this at me and while I don't claim to be any kind of expert, I thought I had some grasp of what the power was for

    Quote:
I still prefer the power for two main reasons:
    • The To-Hit Debuff Resistance. One of the benefits IO bonus's and Tactics don't give you is To-Hit Debuff Resistance. You can have all the accuracy and To-Hit in the world, and reliably hit that 95% defense against even the likes of Stacked Nemesis and Cimerorans. What happens when something comes along that can wipe that To-Hit / Accuracy buff out? Okay, there's a fair argument that outside of the Rularuu, Carnival, Praetorian Shadows, and Arachnos that nothing else in the 40+ range really does a meaningful to-hit debuff. We still don't know what all Going Rogue and following issues will bring.
    • Physical Perfection. When playing a tank or scrapper that just needs bit more survivability, Physical Perfection is a nice high-level edging power. If I've got endurance to burn at that level, I might as well take Focused Accuracy over Conserve Power.
agree totally, this pretty much sums up my thoughts on the power at this point. but was looking for feedback from others, with more experience than me, to make sure I wasn't overlooking some extra benefit this power provides.

Also, I was under the impression that +tohit was better than acc, am I mistaken in this?
not following your comments. as I expressed in my original post, it isn't that the bonuses from FA aren't decent but I can get the same bonuses for to hit and accuracy from IOs. and unless you are hunting +4s or do a lot of pvp, I don't see the need for both. I try to find a home for a kismet on most builds and generally get at least 40 - 50% +accuracy from IO sets without even really focusing on accuracy bonuses.

so far, most of the comments mirror my thoughts. the only real reason to pick FA is as a pre-req, instead of conserve power, to get to physical perfection, which I still want to take on many characters. it can be used as a mule for some decent IO bonuses.

about the only bonus I see from FA that you can't easily get another way is the to-hit debuff resistance, which I did point out in my original post.
  7. is any one taking this power any more, after the severe reduction in its benefits?

it used to be a great power but the extremely high endurance cost balanced it out pretty well. then when physical perfection came along, I thought that you would finally be able to afford to run FA and was looking forward to adding it to more of my scrappers and brutes. until I saw how much they neutered it.

I still have it on a couple of characters though I think it may be swapped out when I get around to respecing them. even if I can afford to run it, I usually switch it on only if facing mobs with heavy accuracy debuffs. that's the one good use I still see for it.

am I missing something here? with a kismet +6% and IOs giving + accuracy, I can get numbers equal to or exceeding FA without the endurance drain and power selection. and while FA would, of course, add on top of those same to hit and accuracy numbers, it's pretty much overkill as I am usually at the 95% cap against just about anything I ever go up against.
  8. I know that energy melee isn't much in vogue these days but it's one of the few sets I haven't played, so wanted to give it a shot. I just got to lvl 35 on a tank and the in-game description is very confusing.

it says the attack has a 7' range (normal for a single target melee attack) but has an 11' radius and can hit a maximum of 5 targets. however, it takes melee IOs, not PBAoE IOs.

if I am the center of the attack "circle", an 11' radius is around 60% greater distance than the attack's range. I haven't played very much since I hit lvl 35 but I don't believe I have seen it hit more than 1 target yet. and I have been in the middle of some closely packed groups of bad guys, so it should have hit multiple targets if it could do so.

so could someone please help me understand how this power is supposed to work? is it a single target with an incorrect description? an AoE power? but if so, is it a 360 degree circle attack? or really a small cone, in which case that's a really poor description

thanks, in advance, for any assistance provided

it's not too bad. there are about 150 recipes in that group and, depending on what you are looking for, at least 12 -15 pretty good ones. and some very good ones, like the regen tissue + regen and the stdfst + 3% defense to all. you also have 2 of the -kb recipes and the kismet + accr.

most of the better ones are also in groups that should have a slightly higher weighting. usually defense, heals, damage IOs are supposed to hit a little more often. so you should have at least a 10% chance or better of getting a decent recipe each roll.

could certainly still roll 20 or 30 times and come up empty, if the RNG is against you, but at only 60 tickets per try it's pretty easy to get a lot of rolls.

    how to toggle?

    to OP

above binds work great but you can also use the "powexecname" command if you are toggling between related powers like hover and fly or combat jumping and super jump.

    /bind <key> "powexecname hover$$powexecname fly" also works

if you are toggling between unrelated powers like fly and combat jumping, then you will need to use a "toggleoff" command.

/bind <key> "powexectoggleoff combat jumping$$powexecname fly (or powexectoggleon fly)"

otherwise, combat jumping will continue to run even while you are flying. though that isn't always a bad thing as it will continue to give you the defense bonus from combat jumping while flying. on some of my defense based blasters, I will leave CJ running while hovering and you get the defense bonus from both.

thanks Pyber. I frequently roll 10 -14 with AE rolls. some really nice bronze ones in there and those are cheap rolls. even silver has a good payback with some of the other IOs that Lohenien mentioned.

guess people must have been talking about AE rolls, not merits when suggesting to roll 10 -14. think I may wait until I get a bit higher level and roll in the 30's. both 30 - 34 and 35 - 39 look pretty good

unless wicki is all messed up, all those you listed are shown as bronze and silver AE rolls, none of them are listed as being in the gold AE or Merit random roll list. well, except for a couple of the basilisk pieces, including the rare quad piece.
  13. looking for some insight from the IO community. when people have asked which is the best level to use for random merit rolls, the answer I generally see is either 10 - 14 or 35 -39.

I can see why 35 -39, but not really understanding why 10 -14. why not go 15 -19? that adds in the 4 stealth IOs that sell for good amounts of influence and the Edict +def as well as the Gift of the Ancients run spd aren't bad.

and besides the Basilisk and Shield Breakers, what are the real keepers in the 10 -14 range? with only 30 some recipes in that grouping, your odds are pretty good at getting whatever IO you are shooting for, all other range groups have 2 - 3 times as many possibilities. but guess I am not seeing recipes that are that much better than waiting until I have more merits to roll at 35 or so.

any help explaining what I am missing would be appreciated, thanks

that and, I believe, it's the only piece of the 6 that is in pool C. the other 5 pieces are pool A or B, so those will drop more often. you can also take a stab at getting them with bronze or silver rolls at AE. this piece requires you to make gold rolls at the AE, buy it with merits or take random merit rolls.

and if someone is going to the expense of gold rolls or merit rolls, they are probably going to keep it. even if they don't need it on that character, they most likely know it's rare and will save it for an Alt or a friend.

I had the same thing happen last night. I don't think it is a bug so much as massive lag on the market server. I frequently had to do the same thing 2 or 3 times before it would "take" and actually do what I wanted it to do.

I had this happen when trying to sell an item, move an item (recipe, enhancement, salvage) from my character to the market storage area, or trying to get the proceeds from a sale. it would appear to make the move but would then reverse itself.

if you don't already have market messages set up to display in an open chat window, I suggest you do that, at least for now. I could tell by watching for the messages whether something completed or if it was going to come back to its original state.

I had this problem the other day. Here's how I was able to fix it:
    • As soon as you're on the screen with your enhancements you should immediately place at least 5 enhancements, if not more, in the character's personal enhancement tray.
    • As soon as you get to the point where the 4th line collapses on itself, you should place an enhancement or 2 that you have in your tray into the enhancement window that holds the enhancements you have yet to place into powers.
    • By placing an enhancement into that window it will expand once more, revealing all of your enhancements.

I suspect this is a bug of some sort. I'm sure someone's on their hands & knees fixing it.
thanks for posting this information, I have run into this also and wasn't finding a good work around.

from what I saw, it appears it might be a screen sizing issue. I noticed that you no longer get the scroll bar to the side of the enhancement storage area. possibly the enhancements are there, but you don't see them in the resized storage area and no scroll bar to change the view to see them.

When I looked, it had listed a stack of 10 Rune salvage for 14M apiece. That stack of salvage was at least 4 rows up in my market storage list from what I was selling.

I both bugged and petitioned this. I'm not hugely upset about losing 7M inf, but I am incredibly worried that it will do this again on something much worse, or sell something that I did not want to sell. I had a purple drop I got tonight stored in the market at the time this happened. I would have been really fracking pissed to have listed it for 14M.
I feel your pain, because I had something similar happen to me that did result in selling a purple recipe I had stored at WW. I was selling off some inspirations at 3000 per and the screen did its little jump around routine along with auto populate the last bid (dumbest thing ever!) and poof, listed a purple for 3000.

the good news is that I was debating selling it any way as it wasn't a purple I needed, from the stun set, and you do get the high bidder amount, not what you listed it for. so I did get the current market price of around 25 million.

but still disliking the market a lot. between the lag; the way it jumps things around between tabs and resets which item you are actually focused on; and the auto populating using your last bid amount, just disaster waiting to happen.
