check out a few pc stores in the area too. Up until 2 months ago i was paying $19.99 for a 60 day card, way cheaper than online
But I guess they got wise, now they're $24.99 !GAH! -
if you're willing to put a bit of money into it... (and i almost can't belive im saying this), Try Invulnerbility.
Granted I made an inv tank the very first day of issue 7, just after the global defense nerf and ED, and inv was stuck in the middle and sorely needed help.
Now, well, my inv/axe tanker has softcapped defenses to S/L/E/N and is sitting at 40% to F/C with just 1 enemy in range, almost capped S/L resist and a self heal that just about caps his hitpoints.
So far i've yet to do this with any other set, though i never use purples, so perhaps someone else out there has another set to use. -
Well, i went with spirtual on my shield/elec/mu tanker he gained about 4 hp/sec but health and True Grit are the only powers it would boost on my build. But then i got to thinking, what about going Cardiac ? end/res ? You have Deflection, True Grit, Tough (if you took it) and One with the shield (i just left that one 1 slotted).
I didn't slot deflection with any resistance, True Grit got 1 lvl 50 resist IO. that could be worth something.
Now im sure spiritual would of been more of a buff if i had taken aid self. but between softcapped defenses, knockdowns and 2 chance for self heals, I didn't take it. (in fact I have a trend on a lot of characters to completely remove aid self, im starting not to like it).
thoughts? -
lol
+1
There is little you can do for laptop performance. Add ram, maybe a cpu or hard drive, none of this you need though.
I will say though, on my laptop, just formatting the dam thing after buying it and reinstalling the operating system and drivers did wonders for its performance. why why WHY do they put so much crap on those things!!! This has become standard proceedure for my mobiles now -
I have over 100 characters, that will at some point, all be respecced. I basically respec each one as i log in, I dont try to do it all at once i'd go mad. Its a technique that has worked well for me and made the whole thing pretty painless and transparent.
99% of the time I'll have a mids build already planned post i19 for the specific character (loved the early patch for that btw!)
The only thing I find troublesome on respec's is room for enhancements. I did a major revamp on my shield/elec/body tanker, that is now Shield/elec/mu.With this came 4 sets I no longer needed and had to respec 3 times just to get all the Enhancements off to other characters. No way im just erasing Obliterations, Touch of deaths, Numina's etc.
This has been the only character to have this hassle though as it was such a major change, the rest of the ones i've done so far have simply reused 99% of the Enhancements they already had. -
My plant/storm/stone controller is sitting on 28 spare shards, I think im just going to save them to see what comes out next patch. It already has the Uncommon slotted.
I find ITF's give better shard drops than the other Task Forces i've done.
However, I ran an ITF on my Ma/Sr scrapper, I only needed 4 shards to craft his uncommon, i got 2 the entire clear all TF. I was kinda bummed, I didn't even need the incarnate salvage you are offered. Perhaps 'touching' more mobs is beneficial(IE, something like blazing aura getting a damage tick on everything, works wonders on a ship raid)? Though I believe it is purely random for the entire team
I have hit 2 shards on the one enemy before, though I always forget to take screen shots WITH UI. I've had 10-12 drop on one taskforce before and as I said, i've had just 2.
Oh the Curse, and blessing, of the mighty RNG! -
I also have this Graphics card and those drivers, no issues here, or on the other machines running different nVidia cards.
-
i've never noticed DoF do anything to frame rate. I'll have another look tonight to be sure.
-
I would be in the 'would like' group. Just using the regular nVidia drivers, I get a kick out of playing stuff like Need for Speed and Modern Warfare. CoH is open GL though! DoH >.<
-
Yep, also no problems, with the game or anything else. Win 7 x64 Ultimate here, been rock solid.
-
Yeah used something similiar to get it to run on my pocket pc. Fun stuff that. as for running it natively, my 8.9 inch netbook does it pretty well. although CoH is on minimum details, on the tiny screen it actually looks pretty good
I we'll see more of this though. smaller and smaller components giving us more and more powerful devices. This time next year, CoH running Natively on something that'll go in your pocket, more than likely. As for controlling it, touch screen works ok, but a little wireless mouse would be ideal. As far as an onscreen right click, i had one of my pda application buttons mapped to a toggle, if its on, right click, if its off, left click. -
We ran it and ultimately failed the first time >.< got it just tonight though
On my inv/axe I had little trouble. He is almost (and when build is complete, will be) softcapped to all but psi with 1 mob in range, I found taunting the swords and champions to be more useful than taunting BM. Swords were wiping squishies to the floor if they were allowed to run free.
Oh, and bring Envenomed Daggers! the last Apex BM fight I was on, was truely epic, and those made it possible xD -
I will have to make sure my tank is out of the isles with his new boosted mixed build before the justice TT then. All tanker ITF or Lady Grey? they are all the rage right now
?
-
I've done several in the 18-20 minute range. I tried to take a screenie but I didn't have it set with UI >.<
With i19 though, the ITF seems to be the better Taskforce for dropping Incarnate salvage. -
They have dropped way more than purple recipes for me. To me their drop rate seems ok.
-
Quote:Nicely said. Especially that last sentance. I love having half my global list asking me to run task forces. Its a lot of fun! So far, I love it.'Worthy'? You're seriously saying some players aren't 'worthy' of a stupid little piece of digital coding? This isn't the holy grail or Excalibur we're talking about. If you made it to 50 and did the arc, bam, good enough for me. The incarnate system has managed to do an awesome job sparking interest in the playerbase to do old content that's still just as fun as when it first came out.
Get over yourself, brosef. -
yeah anything with lots of dot. I spawned 1 tornado on my plant/storm controller and wiped out 3 of them at once. Freezing rain wiped out a spawn as well.
-
I went different to all of you, and I aint looking back
Now I will tell you, that I think its totally up to the individual controllers build and playstyle as to what alpha slot will suit you best.
I already have a Radial Boost (Uncommon) slotted on my plant/storm/stone controller.
This boosts my damage and defense debuff by 33%
I already had enough endurance and recharge to stack lighting storm, tornado and freezing rain. seeds is up every mob. If there is an emergency, I can lock down 2 sets of x8 mobs so I am ok in the control departments. I am sitting on 44% S/L defense can stealth and self heal, So I decided on more damage.
Plus when rares are released, im on the way to getting the Radial Paragon Which will boost Damage,Immobilize,Defense debuffs,Endurance Mod,Running and tohit (the only thing i dont have) by 33% thats a big score for me.
Now, having said that, to comment on some other replies. Starkitten is 100% correct. the bonuses from Nerve look like they'll boost any control set quite nicely and would be another one i'd look at.
Oedipus_Tex, I totally forgot you could do that. Maybe I will have to make another type some time and test it out -
after duoing the oro arc. we ran a lgtf and an itf. that was enough to get my common.
later on in the evening. ran the same 2 task forces, so i didnt get anymore salvage drops, but picked up enough shards to create my next enhancement, a Musculature Radial Boost (uncommon) and my plant/storm/stone controller can feel the difference
So far, I like the way it is set up -
eh, i have over 100 characters, my wife has over 200. as far as respecs go, i'll just do them as i log in. A lot of my main ones already have builds planned in the patched mids and some that i have tested out on well.. test
So yeah, log a new character in, quick respec, on my way. log the same one in later? sweet, log a new one in.. is there a build? if yes, respec and go if not, eh just wait on it.
Not too fussed about the respeccing. Totally loving what you can do with an inherent fitness build though, I see a lot of recalling and leadership in our furtures -
Hmm. Would going into the registry entry for CoH and manually setting your graphics options hold up?

I very nearly rolled a DP/EM when I first got a hold of the set. At that time though I hadn't played Mental either, so I rolled the Dp/MM when GR first came out.
I have a lvl 50 Ar/em though so I can comment a little.
Energy is a great secondary for any blaster, however those with cone attacks I think will get a little more out of it.
On mine, I took Boost range by accident, but it turned out to be amazing when paired with any cone attack, dual pistols has one, plus you can fire from longer distances.
Another possible reason it meshes well with pistols is Power Build up. This will boost the secondary effects of your cyro rounds, indeed it does make some mobs crawl. I am unsure if it effects toxic rounds the same way, but I believe it effects your melee attacks for extra mez on those disorents.
Also, as you know, Energy has some great Melee attacks, a lot of damage to be had.
I also have a lvl 50 fire/em, and I agree, those are fun! dp/em should be just as fun, especially with that speedy tier 9 -
Had this exact issue with a desktop a while back. It was my cpu overheating and throttling down to cool off. To compound the issue, which might of just been with my motherboard, I was unable to tell what that temperature was with the free software I had at the time. CoH was the only game that really did it, unless i put everything to max and ran Crysis for a while.
If you have reliable monitoring software, check your CPU temps, make sure your vents are nice and clean and that your laptop can breath!
Hope this helps.
