Has anyone mentioned habit?
Here's my reasoning. If I recall correctly, Stefan Richter was born in the late 1800's and became an adventurer in the early 1900's. Adventuring at that time almost required a sidearm of some kind. <Think Doc Savage/Phantom/Shadow school of heroes>
Besides, its an easy way of getting rid of annoying peons. It just shows a level of contempt that beating them down with super strength just doesn't give.
"You're not even worth the effort...<bang>"

Actually, I'll be trying to find a combo that will be as invisible as possible. I kind of want my radiation attacks to be more "heat shimmer" than color.
[/ QUOTE ]
No... What you want is a turquoise to blue-white color, as in this image or this image -- the Cherenkov secondary radiation from the passage of the actual radiation. That's what I intend to do with my Fire/Rad controller; the actual radiation will be invisible, but the Cherenkov secondary emission will be highly visible.

oooh. nice. thanks for posting those. I'll have to keep that in mind. -

2. Ability to NPC possess when other people are running your arcs, if they consent to it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Once more in English, please?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I got that one. The ability to take control of an NPC while others are running your arc. Interesting idea but I see it becoming another form of PvP. -
That is a very good question. The only answer is "because they don't."
Maybe this will happen down the line. But for now....
Edit: axe and mace were added to brute recently as well as sword options for Dual Blade types. -
Welllll.... if you really, really want to do it I suppose it could work. Just please, for your own safety, don't RP with it.

I think I have a slightly different idea of utility toon. I have two that exist for a very specific purpose.
1. is a mind/emp controller who exists only to patrol Atlas, Galaxy, and Kings giving away free fortune readings and a heal or two to new characters in need.
2. is a lv 1 FF defender that exists only as a bank and a transfer point between my two accounts.
Not quite as useful as yours but very specific. -
I'll go one farther on prioritizing.
For Controller/Dominator/Defender types I would say that Juggling is an important skill. Not the practice of throwing things in the air and catching them smoothly, but the skill of switching from target to target in a fight keeping holds, slows, debuffs, ect. running where they will do the most good.
For example: Sleep target A, Dominate Target B, Confuse Target C repeat as needed so that your teammates with better damage capability can focus on offense instead of self defense. -
Not so sure I can be quite as helpful with the smoking thing though. Keep up the good work.

My normal routine for a low level redisder
Breakout, to level 2
Few mins down on the beach, to level 3.
Run Kalindas arc, Street sweeping anything close, Dropping the Contaminated mission on the farside of the map. That gets me to 5 or so. Then Port Oakes and 3 papers + safeguard.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty similar here except I usually follow the Burke arc. His missions usually get me to about lv 5 or so then its a street sweep over to the PO ferry and out to the first broker missions.
I dislike Mercy. I do whatever I can to get off that island as soon as possible. -
See Mistress N? Problem solved.

Actually, its a little known fact that the Black Market (as well as Wentworths and the Vault) are all secretly owned and operated by....
...DJ Zero.
Thats right. The same benevolent soul that gives us Pocket D and the Winter and Spring events also is the genius behind the whole market system. Thats why all of those places are all safe zones. And you thought it might be another Nemesis plot. Ha! Whenever something goes wrong for Nemesis he wonders if it's a DJ Zero plot.
So feel free to keep paying your market fees Ladies and Gentlemen. Winter's not far away and buying all those brightly wrapped packages isn't cheap.

Every now and then you have to cheat just a bit. It keeps you sane and it helps keeps the cravings more under control. As long as you keep to your program the rest of the time, you're good. -

Yes, this isn't a tank-bashing thread. Most tanks I've teamed with have been good experiences and a team can really survive and thrive with one. As always, it's the bossy control freaks that are the problem. Luckily they're fairly rare
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. Higher up in the thread I posted about my most recent problem child who just happened to be a tank. I regularly play with several very good Tank players and I am constantly amazed at how frightening a well played tank can be.
Back to my storm defender for an example: Moving through Tsoo infested caves in Talos our Tank walks into the room, fires off a taunt, and calmly starts throwing punches while the entire cave system descends upon him.
As a Defender I'm standing back putting freezing rain and my other tricks where they'll do the most good and the whole time our Tank has not moved. He's still there switching from target to target, just leaving a growing pile of bodies around him. Once everything has gone quiet he turns to make sure everything's clear and proceeds onward.
It's nice seeing someone play to the strengths of a Tank instead of trying to make them some kind of scrapper . -

The answer is, cause some of the people over in Justice are getting all cocky about the number of viewers their section has right now, and I'm proving a point that maybe that has more to do with a link to their section through the dev digest than how awesome Justice is. Don't get me wrong...Justice is awesome. But all the servers are awesome in their own way.

Just a little pet peeve, but it's Storm/Electric. Storm's a Defender primary. Tanker's an idiot if he needs constant healing from anyone to survive.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correction noted. Oops. -
I think the worst in recent memory was when I was playing a electric/ storm defender (keep this in mind, its important) with a couple of friends. Just before starting the mission we picked up another scrapper and tank just to add a bit more firepower and xp to the mission. We get into the mission and all is going well when we meet the robbers. Expecting good old Comatorium or one of the usual suspects, we're shocked to find that it's none other than Silver Mantis herself.
As you might expect, any plans we had went straight out the window at that point and it quite literally became a fight for our lives.
Here's the part where it went bad. During the fight the tank we picked up starts getting on my case for not healing him fast enough....
Lets back up a moment... remember my AT? .../storm Defender... back to the narrative...
At first I ignore his comments, being a bit too busy trying to figure out a way to finish this safeguard gracefully. He just keeps complaining. I commented that I was doing what I could and his reply was "Just admit you were slacking off on the healing..."
I'm a generally peaceful man but there are times....
Enough of the rant. Thanks for looking. -

Just curious, does any1 know the exact number of different toons you can create by mixing AT, primary and secondary powers? How many slots would you need?

280 Hero Pri/Sec Combinations Possible
271 Villain Pri/Sec Combinations Possible
551 Possible Character Combinations
[/ QUOTE ]
Are those numbers based solely on pri/sec combinations or are you adding in epic/patron pools as well.
In any case, wow. -
OK I can see that. If you're building your pricing based on the assumption that your customers will leave before you start losing money on the deal. Then, yes, it might be a useful strategy.
