  1. And I was half worried that you had sold out.
  2. Protector is one of five servers I play on. I've sort of designated it as my "blue" server. Guardian is my "red" server and the others are mixed. I agree we could use more redsiders. Ah well. Maybe GR WILL balance things a bit. we'll see.

Feel free to stop by and see me. I'm the Gypsy juggling near Ms. LIberty. I'm there fairly often...when the servers are up that is...
  3. Currently you cannot promote an offline character.
  4. Nope. And that was intentional by the Devs. They mentioned early on that they didn't want it to be used that way. Only kills outside AE count for badges/accolades.
  5. As far as I can tell, negative rep is about as important as a melted popsicle in July. It's kind of disappointing but, really, it doesn't matter anymore

Positive rep is just about the same.

Ignore it, revel in it, revile it, lament it, praise it, spread it around, fight it...

any or all of the above is a suitable response.

As a rough example from my in game history...

I've had more than a few times when I've joined a pick up team that we brought up to eight players. The team then just started doing whatever came along, newspaper missions, story arcs, street sweeping, what have you. Usually I'd gain a level or three in just an hour or two of play (this would be in that long mid 20's run.) More importantly, I had a great time doing it and didn't even notice the time.

It's all about having fun. If you're not playing to have fun, don't bother.
  7. But, if you think about it, if PvP was run byJoshua it could be veeeery interesting.
  8. Oh, forgot to say it.

    Welcome to the City.

We're a pretty casual bunch here (mostly.) There's more than one way to play. Try them all out and then go with the one that works for you.

I really don't know as I've played with the same group for years, but I can't even remember the last time I met someone new. Of course, I also don't play on the big two, so that could also contribute to my confusion.

Over on Protector I meet quite a few new players. Heh, I've kind of made a hobby of it. Mostly they are running from Ms. Liberty to the AE and back again but a few, those glorious few, that stop and say hi and ask questions ( such as the ones who notice the fireballs I'm juggling and ask "how are you doing that?") are the ones worth encouraging.
  10. Actually Dead, no matter which way you choose (AE, PL, SK, ect.) larger teams = more xp= faster levelling. All have their plusses and minuses.

AE is the newest and possibly the easiest but you miss out on a lot of the official storylines and (IMHO) a lot of the best parts of the game.

PL, or Power Levelling is more or less riding along with a higher lv player or group and just getting free xp. Not my chosen method of play but, to each their own.

SK= Side Kick (or Lackey on villain side.) is joining forces with a more powerful player who brings you up to just under their level. A great way to learn the game and get some good exp. At your level, this can power you up into the teens pretty well.

I may be being a bit simplistic here but the basic formula holds. Large teams=more XP=faster advancement.
  11. We're rationing the Nerdrage for I-15 and I-16. We're good but even we can't keep up that level of intensity.
  12. Both are excellent. This is one of the reasons I stay with the game. It looks great. I have spent more than a few minutes of online time just looking at the scenery. A bit geeky I know but take it for what it's worth.
  13. hgurifthkdlikely we'll just have to deal with "THE BUG" a bit longer.
  14. They had to do an unscheduled shutdown due to the lasat patch. it was causing big problems so they're taking it out and rolling things back to the last issue. They've given the usual two hours but might be less.
  15. NBD. I like the honesty. "It didn't work, we'll pull it and try again. Sorry for the inconvenience."

By the way, did anyone else's friends list go missing. Local, Global, Global ignore, all MIA.

    o_o

Well, I did promise cookies if you came home.

    <<Hands cookies to Pepsi>>
  17. Come on back to Guardian Pepsi. We have cookies waiting for you.
  18. I think Protector is actually taking up the total capabilities of the last Univac computer in the world.

  19. Not to worry GG, that's just his way of checking people out.
  20. And now Cray is on the good Captain's case...sigh. As the great sage once said "I don't get no respect at all..."

Great as always Rock. I'm still trying to get those added to the tutorial for all new players.
  21. Hm, not sure about a level restriction but I can get behind the idea of moving the contact pop up. Moving it to the 10-15 range sounds about right to me. This is the same area where the Invention Tutorial and Midnighters contacts come into play if I'm remembering correctly. This won't guarantee that new players will play through those first few levels (particularly since the AE is so well advertised) but it might get a few back into the mainstream.

As a reminder: I do not object to the AE. I do not object to farming, or any other style of play that leads to rapid advance (to each their own) I would however, like to see more people getting back into the canon storylines.

With that in mind, I have a short impromtu poll, feel free to answer as much or as little as you like, it is afterall just for fun.

    1. What is your favorite AT?

    2. What is your favorite zone?

    3. Which is your favorite story arc?

    4. In Paragon City, which stores do you like best?

    5. In the Rogue Isles, which Patron do you like best?

    Enjoy.
    1. Favorite AT? A bit of a tie Between Controller and Defender

    2. Favorite Zone? Call me odd but Overbrook (y'all call it Faultline). Just something about it.

    3. Favorite Story Arc? O Wretched Man wins hands down. It's the only arc that I really care about the characters in it.

    4. Paragon City Stores? Pandora's Box. It's got that antique bookstore feel to it.

    5. Favorite Patron? Ghost Widow. As above, it's the only one I really enjoy the story for.
  23. 1. Stand somewhere near the train/ferry in your favorite zone. This works best if it's a high traffic area.

    2. Juggle.

I'm constantly amazed how well this works.
  24. To the person who tried to foil my evil plot by giving me rep (and Nemesis knows who you are) Hah! 14 reputation! I'm still comfortably in the middle of the pack.

Mwaha--mwahahaha- mwahahahahahahaha (cough) ok <gasp> thats enough of that
  25. My usual resonse to seeing a SteelClaw post is "Oh no..." followed immediately by a clicking sound as I just ...have...to...open...it...
