If I were a well-endowed woman in Paragon City, I'd be looking over my shoulder in terror right now. Not that that would protect you from a telepathic attack, of course. :P

Nope, nope, nothing for her to worry about there. You see, there are a few free inherant powers that come with becoming a super heroine.

Antigravity figure support- in all dimentions, figures are guaranteed never to sag, slope or fade over time until she retires.

Good Hair- sure it might get messed up but, never fear, a quick brush with her fingers and the nano tecnhology will fix things up as good as new.

Perfect smile- no matter what her condition her dentition was in before, she'll have a model's smile.

Strategically armored clothing- no matter what she hits with be it flame, ice, cosmic rays or megarads of radiation, she will always be guaranteed a bare minimum of modesty protection.

Strategically reinforced clothing- no matter the weather conditions, there will be NO embarassing see through or suggestiveness issues (particularly after those cold attacks.)
  3. Mine is pretty simple, particularly if you're familiar with classic rock/pop from the late 60's early 70's.

    If not, here's a hint

I have begun to use it for my user name on other sites but it's real origin as a gaming name goes back to Warhammer Fantasy roleplay. JW Bullfrog was a halfling with a spear and a bit of a manic streak. He became known for leaping attacks from high ground and earned the nickname of "halfling from above" (a reference to a similar maneuver from Battletech)

I have reserved JWB for use in game but probably wont go live until I16 comes around. Since I prefer controller/defender types having a smiling, squishy, friendly, name for a character seems fitting.

    Y:No. Quicker, easier, more seductive.

Thats the whole appeal of Evil. It promises us a shortcut to everything we want. It's the ultimate "Buy it NAO!" of the universe. This appeals to us on a very primal level. It takes a bit more maturity to accept the longer, more difficult path that good offers us.

I accept that there is a an absolute good as well as an absolute evil. It's quite possible that these limits are so far beyond what we're able to understand that they may as well not exist, but without these absolutes, we have no way of measuring the shades of gray in between.

Another philosphical tidbit from your squishy amphibian friend.

Heh. Shows you've been paying attention.

If you include the latest films, the clone wars series, and the novels, there are a lot more female role models in the Star Wars Universe.

I think Leia would still be the top choice...unless you're really a Mon Mothma kinda gal
  7. Wow, we've gone from light hearted to philosophical, near fisticuffs, in a single thread...

pretty par for the course around here actually.

As humans we do have an attraction towards evil. We can't help it.
The appeal of absolute freedom to do whatever we want without regret is a part of our psyche. Because of that we can almost admire characters like Recluse or Dr. Doom or Lex Luthor who let us live out these fantasies through them. Are they right from a moral point of view? Well, no, not really. We know that they all display anti social behavior and we're pretty certain we know what would happen to us if we actually tried to copy them.
Now Statesman is sort of the opposite. We hate knowing that there are rules and moral standards we have to live up to. They're a "drag" and "for squares" (yes I know old slang...deal) This is why we hate Statesman a bit. He is the representation of being responsible, growing up, doing the right thing.

just my 2 inf. of drugstore philosophy. Take from it what you will.

But he still has a stupid hat.

  10. I like knowing I'm not the only one who remembers the classics.
  11. Somebody included a Twinkie.

    Somebody always includes a Twinkie.

Also, theres a strong possiblity of a a singing and dancing frog.
  12. Ah, an issue close to my heart. See that avatar over there <-- ? that's Doc. She's a rad/rad Corr. She's also a dedicated healer. She is also my first lv 50.

Before Pain Domination came along, there were several options available to Villains as far as team healing was concerned. None of them were as effective as /Empathy.

I decided, in my particular madness, to build a healer using rad/rad. Why? Because I noticed one thing about radiation... both the primary and secondary had strong debuff capability.

So, I set out on a career as a one trick pony using Radiant Aura, Radiation Infection, Enervating Field, Mutation, Accellerate Metabolism, and Lingering Radiation to their best effect. I also took the medicine pool to give me more options for healing, rezzing, and breaking holds (ala "clear mind.") The few attacks I took all were slotted for defense debuff as well as damage.

She survived well on her own until about lv 15 or so. Then she found her niche... AV killer. Someone else had to do most of the actual damage you understand, but she made the job so much easier. I found a few people who appreciated that rather specialized field or medicine and took pity on the poor, insane, corruptor. Before I knew it, she was 50.

I'm not saying this is for everyone. It's a challenge that takes a lot of patience. But it was fun. And thats why we're here isn't it?
  13. Now it seems to me that Recluse might have gotten the better part of the deal...

    Recluse has his own nation.
Statesman is still just a government sanctioned vigilante.

Recluse has thousands of loyal followers willing to die at his command. Statesman has to resort to public service announcements to get anything done.

Recluse is surrounded by hundreds of beautiful, deadly women wearing skin tight clothing.
Statesman has to pretend he's not peeking at Sister Psyche.

Recluse has the option to maim, punish, humiliate, or even kill anyone that annoys him.
Statesman has to "be better than that."

Although they may fear him, people secretly think Recluse is "kinda cool"
People think Statesman is a jerk and laugh at him behind his back for having a stupid hat.

So, who got the better deal?
  14. Twice now and working on several others.

I like a game that lets you play at your own speed. Personally, I'm happy with the way the game progresses at heroic but some people like a bit more of a challenge. That's just fine with me. That's why the option to change the difficulty (and the upcoming team size slider) exists. If winding things up to "11" is your idea of fun, go for it.
  15. A filter is being introduced in I 16 (?) that will let you shut off e-mail from anyone other than your friends list. That should all but kill the problem.
  16. A solution is already in the works. Patience.

Yeah. Sad but true. I have a bit of an issue with the (mercifully few) people who practice kill stealing already. I'm mostly a solo player so I don't want the frustration of fighting off other players in addition to the NPCs.

    Wailer Lords

LOL I know that feeling. I think I had the same reaction to him. The only other one that freaked me out was Doc Vahzilok himself. Of course, a 9 foot tall patchwork monster coming out of the one corner I forgot to look in, should send most rational people screaming.
  19. I would not mind this provided that two conditions apply to it:

    1. No player is OBLIGATED to do it. And by this I mean that you have every option to ignore the mission without having to use an auto complete (like speak with Lt. Wincott in the Hollows) and by ignoring it you are not trapping yourself in a dead end mission thread because you didn't do it.

    2. No other player would be able to interfere with your mission in any way. Until recently when I joined in on CO's beta testing, I had never experienced the phenomenon of "ninja-ing." That is, another player hanging just close enough to steal your rewards from a fight. I'm not very fond of it.

Besides, as i've just been reminded, we already have something like this. All GM's/Rikti invasions/Zombies are basically open world encounters. Anyone can join in.

Now, having said that, I would like to see some more content and adding a bit more to the "dead" zones would be a very good thing so I would give this a /provisionallysigned
  20. Now there's an angle I didn't think of. I can turn them into random rolls and then give those away!

    Oh frabjus day, callou callay!
  21. I suppose the "rich vs. poor" arguement could apply to game balance here ML.

As I see it, by allowing players to pay real money for items which will enhance their performance, an imbalance will be created that the Devs will have no way to control short of removing those items once abuse starts occurring and those players who were not "rich" enough to take advantage of that feature start complaining. (and we know it will, it's only a matter of time.)

We've all seen the troubles that are caused when the Devs are required to remove a feature from the game for any reason. I know we've all seen too much of that recently.
  22. Actually, I'm about to commit a minor heresy here...

I don't object to the idea of a double merit weekend.
    I don't support it either.

I don't really care about merits. If I could give mine away I would.

Heresy over. Let the stoning begin.

  25. But by that time you were pretty comfortable with your basic controls and the ideas of enhancements, inspirations and the like, right?

Thats what I meant by "clicking." At about 3 months you've stopped thinking about "how" to do things and have moved on to finding new tricks you can do and just enjoying the ride.

Heh, I've been here about 3 years and I still have those moments of "I've never been here before so just point me in the right direction." I think even the 5 year+ vets still get those.
