  1. Congratulations.

    Now that the real world War Witch has gotten a promotion, will there be an improvement is the "not exactly dead" status of the in game War Witch?

    Maybe her own task force?
  2. Most of my toons that make it past lv 12 (or so) have an emotional attachment for me but there are 3 standouts.

    GRAY GODDESS:

    My very first attempt at ANYTHING in City. A Kat/Regen stalker. For the longest time I wasn't sure she was going anywhere. Then she developed her own voice in the middle of a routine newspaper mission. Suddenly I could see her stealthing up behind a security guard and kissing him on the cheek...just before stabbing him. She got a lot scarier and a lot more interesting after that.

    DOC VENDETTA:

    My infamous "One Trick Pony" on Guardian. This was my attempt to build a Villain "healer" in the pre Pain Dom days. As with Gray, she didn't really seem destined for anything special until I hooked up with a regular play group. They helped define her personality and (thanks to dying a lot) gave her a bit of a cynical edge. She also has the distinction of being my first 50.

    CASSADEGA DELGADO:

    One day, wandering around the streets of Atlas Park (Protector), I thought to myself "What this city really needs are street performers." Since there really wasn't a way to pull that off effectively, the idea just lingered until the Magic Pack was introduced. Suddenly, I could juggle in game and a wise cracking, bad joke telling, Ms. Liberty dissing, street gypsy was born. I was having fun with the concept but it took on a life of it's own the moment a complete stranger built a character to go along with her. It's happened twice now . Egad, what have I unleashed.
  3. Are you sure about that? After all they say that "elephants never forget" that makes them a biological data library for Lord Nemesis.

    Concrete. Is not a Nemesis plot.
  4. Hah, you naive fool! Going Rogue is indeed a Nemesis plot. Although Lord Nemesis is a mann of great resources, He still needs cash to fund some of his operations. He's found that the MMO market is a very lucrative source of funding. Indeed, the millions spent on this hobby annually end up in his pocket.

    Hm, pockets now, those probably arent a Nemesis plot.
  5. I think what you might have done is something like this...

    When you went to select hover you did click on it but, when the screen went back to the main powers menu, you might have clicked something else before finishing.

    I've done that a few times.

    All is not lost. Just select hover at lv 8 and click on nothing else other than "finish" It should drop into your power tray in an available slot.
  6. Ok, its good to know I'm not the only one who's seen this.

    Of course, it scared the bejeebers out of me the first time I saw him and his parade coming straight towards me at the BM. I think I managed to close the auction window and trigger flight and all of my defenses in about .5 seconds.
  7. I think "value of Pwnage" still is my favorite of yours. This one is second, but by such a small margin that you have to start working in quantum math to see a difference.

    Wonderful as always.

    Character Bios

    Most of my Characters have Bios. It's a bit complicated. Either:

    1. There's a fully formed idea in my head when I start character creation. or:
    2. An idea comes from the costume creator.
    or:
    3. I'll make it up as I go.

    In either case, having a bio is a good sign that I will be keeping that character. Any one that gets to 15 without a bio probably will not last much beyond that.
  9. This is actually an easy question since one of my most beloved alts would not only go but would have threatened Hero One's life if he didn't take her.

    Granted, Whispering Swan is a villain, but she has a serious hatred of all things Rikti. She would volunteer to be the one carrying a planet buster bomb with a manual trigger, simply because she would take as many of the SOB's with her as possible. Many Rikti would die from sonic shock, broken limbs and fingernail gouges before she let them win.

    Yes, she has issues. And we love her for it.
  10. Woot! <Wild hand clapping noise.>

    I used Requin last year for my route to get the badge on my MM, along with a few spots on the mainland. IIRC, I combined it with smacking around Hellfrosts for that badge, too.

    Well, it was kind of obvious. I think I need to add a "Sneaky" PROC to my posts. I'm being too predictable.
  12. No, No, No. This is PROOF that the Devs LOVE villains.

    Allow me to explain.

    We villains HATE Mercy. Our hate for that festering wasteland is so strong that we refuse to spend any more time there than absolutely necessary. Because the Devs love us so much, they have decided that the Winter Lord will not spawn there. This removes any need for us to return to that squalid pit of hopelessness (except to run "O Wretched man again".)

    Now Port Oakes, we don't mind Port Oakes that much. We're actually kind of fond of it. Mainly because it's not Mercy. Still, becuse it is so close to THAT place, the Dev's decided not to let the WL spawn there just to keep us from accidentally using the wrong ferry and ending up back in....Mercy.

    Nope, the Dev's love villains. This proves it.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Actually, I figured it was more lack of interest that kept people out of there. Since miost of my characters have out leveled Shark, I'm moving on to Nerva And St. M.

    By the way, do presents occur in Croatoa? I wen't looking earlier today and couldn't find any. And, yes, this was before the cutoff point.
  14. Milo Reed: Bots/ Traps - An albino boy genius

    Drones= Fender, Gibson, Ibanez
    Protectors= Rickenbocker, <open for suggestions>
    Assault= Ovation
  15. How much?

    Nowhere near enough. This game has provided a level of entertainment that only my first love (D&D) can equal. Considering how much money I've sunk into that over the years, I have a lot of catching up to do with City.

    We're just waiting for GR so we can spend more money.

    Sure you can feel powerful by popping a big orange number over the foe's head and deplete their green bar to 0, but then you can do the same and fling them half-way across the map!! Then you can slot for more KB and blast them the other half too!
    Amen.

    Ah, but this one has the advantage of being out of the way. Over the last couple of years, I have rarely seen anyone else hunting there. Still, point taken...maybe I'll expand to 9 presents.

    Best thing to do is move around and go toward anything flashing, and if you happen to go around in a big circle without many other players around.. then more gifts for you! lol

    I have a loop like this in Sharkhead. No, I'm not telling you where it is. It's a pattern with about 8 presents that takes just long enough to do that everything respawns by the time I get back to my start point. Earlier today I was just going about in circles for an hour or two building up candy cane supplies.

    Worst Mobs Ever.

    My best defense against Malta? Confuse/Disorient. Hit the sappers with it and watch the fireworks...or lack thereof.
  20. In addition to everything that's been said already, I have a few ways I use knockback.

    1. Self defense. Yup, since I'm often at the controls of a defender or controller, I like to have something to get people out of my face.

    2. Feeding the melee-ists. I'm usually running about the edges of a fight and using knockback to throw people back into it. Do I get a few miscues this way? Yes, but I think it's worth the trouble.

    3. Defending others. Being able to scatter enemies that have crowded a teammate keeps everything working smoother. For example, my Emp/Archer has explosive arrow. My primary use for it is to break up crowds and knock targets flat. This usually lets a trapped ally get free.

    4. knocking targets flat. As it's been said, a target that has been knocked back, down, up, or is flopping about on the floor (huzzah Ice Slick), is NOT SHOOTING BACK. That equals team win.

    Keep using knockback. Feel free to love it.
  21. I think I'll start with getting all my Praetorian badges first.

    I don't really have any characters that would change sides.
  22. Pretty Similar to DE's post above. We had a full team of 8 and were doing pretty well until the Northern Lights just got too bad. We had people getting sent to the hospital and killed inside the hospital just as soon as they stood back up.

    THe NL's were like a Nictus Army only much, much worse. You cannot target them or defeat/ disable them. At least it didn't seem like you could.

    Not sure I'll bother trying this again. There's fun and then there's annoyance.

    Science Booster

    You are correct. Changing gender/size is specific to a costume slot. Some Examples I've used or have seen from others.

    1. Costume 1 is a huge suit of robot armor. Costume 2 is a 5 foot schoolgirl (very Anime)

    2. Costume 1 is a normal looking male. Costume 2 is a Huge red monster. (sort of a H*** Smash idea)

    3. Costume 1 is a normal looking female character. Costume 2 is a normal looking male character in the same outfit. (Well done but possibly Awkward)
  24. Throwing in one or two lines from favorite films.

    MY FAVORITE YEAR:
    Swann (Peter O'Toole); I'm not an actor, I'm a Movie Star!

    MYSTERY MEN:
    Shoveler (William H. Macy);

    You just have to see it to do it justice. Link is here.

    Ok forgive the bits at the end. not sure what the OP had in mind there.
