Yeah but he can Brawl people to death like nobody's business.
Incoming Damage = 80 + 100 + 50
Outgoing damage = 1
repeat until they give up and go away out of sheer disgust or collapse in heap of futile rage. -
Quote:True, I may have wanted to slap him, but he's OK. Slimey, but ok. I liked the multiple reply options. Now I have to play him through with several characters to try all of the options.I agree.
Talking with Dean has been one of the most enjoyable contact interactions I've ever had in this game.
That what's the clone look like bit and all the high fives had me laughing all the way. And that he's a guy who knows you're tough and can kick his butt and so he plays it safe (stupid, but safe) and doesn't try to back stab ya.
I loves ya, Dean. High-fives! -
Ok, a bit more on topic for me...
Whispering Swan: African-American and quite dark skinned at that. It wasn't intentional, thats just how she "looked right." An up and coming professional singer who was performing when the first Rikti invasion happened. Her voice was ruined and her already borderline paranoia drove her even farther over the edge. Now, she kills anyone who she thinks needs to die.
Northern Spirit: Also known as Constable Carole La Fontaine from Alberta Canada. I know, Canadian isn't exactly "ethnic" any more than American is but I try to play her as just a little bit of a stranger in Paragon.
Cassadega Delgado: Her name is very Hispanic, she calls herself a Gypsy. Honestly, I'm not sure I've figured her out yet. She won't give me a straight answer. -

Quote:Horrible is an understatement. Remember us by Tea instead. That's far more pleasant.
Please forgive but here is a short list of stereotypes that Americans for the English
Tea (not a bad thing, but why can't you put ice and sugar in it like normal people?)
Cricket (It's sort-of baseball, and yet...)
Soccer (I know, I know. the US is probably the only country in the world that doesn't consider this the greatest of all sports)
Bland Food (No longer true but the image persists)
Stubborn Politeness (The only folks I know of that can make the phrase "I said good day!" a threat.)
Royalty (Yes, many countries have royal families but the English are the only ones we keep track of.)
Driving on the Wrong side of the Road (again, you're not the only one but ...)
Thats just a short list. Nothing too offensive. -
Mine was an Energy Melee/ Shield Brute. Surprisingly, this worked really well alongside my DB/WP brute.
Heh, I wasn't expecting that. Almost exited the mission thinking something had gone wrong. -
Lets see...
Doc just wants to make a fortune and be left alone (Accomplished)
Whispering Swan wants to kill anyone that is getting on her nerves at the moment (so, basically, everybody-all the time)
Gray Goddess... is insane. Good and Evil are no longer individual concepts.
That kind of covers the spectrum. All of my villains fall somewhere along there. -

If you haven't had a chance to try it out yet, make some time.
-
Five Stars.
I didn't mean to spend an hour or so playing through it but I couldn't stop. Wonderful story, wonderful writing, plot twists, and several "what the?" moments.
If this is the kind of thing you're planning for GR, bring it on. It can't get here soon enough. -
That fix actually worked for my ATI card. I'm back in business again.
-
Success! switching off the ATI hotkey feature fixed things. Thanks to all for the useful suggestons.
I can play my game again! -
Quote:Look up this thread here, with a possible solution (post by Mod8)
OK, giving that a shot. I'll let you know... -

Since one or two of my characters are not quite in touch with this time/space/reality, it's just explained as 'losing touch with here and now'
Other than that, I just try to ignore the 800 pound gorilla. -
Getting very similar results here. I know my machine is too old for the graphics so I've not even tried to use them. My problem here is 'sticky' WASD keys for movement. If I press any of them for more than 1-2 seconds, the character keeps moving in that direction for several seconds. In effect, the game has become unplayable. Any Useful suggestions?
-
I knew my graphics weren't up to the State of the art so I havent even tried. I'm having a different problem. It seems that my WASD keys have gotten 'sticky.' By that I mean that if i hold down any of them for more than 1-2 seconds, my character continues that movement for several seconds afterward. This has basically rendered the game unplayable since I cannot move in any useful manner.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Know of any solutions? -
Hm, building a character thats more RP than effective...
Yup, I've done that. I'm notorious for not taking travel powers. Why? Because they don't fit my idea for that character. In a few cases I have characters who's only travel power is hover. Why? Because one is a ghost that floats, not flies, and the other is travelling on a floating forcefield she generates under her feet. Are these less effective? Yes. But they're still great characters.
I have Empaths without resurrects, Kins without SB, Rads without ... attacks (no debuffs? please.) And all of these beause it just doesnt fit the idea in my head.
I guess the point here is that the character should be fun to play, and not necessarily a combat monster. Besides, if you can be successful with a 'gimped' build, then that might just mean you're a bit better player than the next guy.
Just a few thoughts. As always, There ain't no right way. -
I agree its an interesting zone. It just almost has the feel of an afterthought. As you're getting into that level range, most of the contacts direct you to Steel, Not Skyway. Once you get into Steel, there's just so much to keep you occupied that, by the time you start getting referrals to Skyway contacts, you've out leveled them.
-
I'd like to put a vote in for a HUGE zone that is all but forgotten:
SKYWAY CITY
Ok, we all know where it is but does anyone spend much time there? Since it roughly matches up in LV with Steel Canyon, it seems to get skipped over. Generally it gets noticed more for Mayhem/Safeguards and as a way to get to Overbrook. -
A Flashback featuring Galaxy Girl and Dauntless might be nice.
Faultline Sr. (Not the Jimmy we all know and love but his father...before it all went wrong)
The Weaver.
Red Widow.
The Regulators (you know, BAB's old SG) -

That's what I named my son!
You say I'm addicted to the game; I retort what's in a name?
He's my BABs Posi Statesman Synapse Steel!
da-da-da-da-da-da-da!
You should know better than to try and test the Claw that way. You can't win. -

Heh, I was wondering if anyone else had seen the pre-patch. I tend to agree that this will preceed open Beta and not go directly to live. There's just too much that needs testing.
Practicing my whip skills now...
