Not much info on the author / creator: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1909378/ http://pigeonimpossible.com/
What a debut animated film though. -
Quote:There's a large difference between the mez changes to equalize fire's consistency across powersets, and buffing the recharge time on healing flames, and the type of rework other sets have gotten. Again, to harp on the Invuln rework, the conceptual idea of how the class worked was examined. E.G. the defense debuff on Unyielding was taken off and debuff resists added to Resist Physical Damage, Tough Hide, and Resist Energies. Invuln went from one of the strongest tanking sets... to still being on of the strong tanking sets, and a great scrapping set. Much like SR, it wasn't so much that it had high defenses (it really doesn't), but even Cimerorans will have issues trying to take defense you do have... away. They also increased the recharge speed of Healing Flames "Since I5".
Yeah, Fire aura works better if you add in a Winters Gift Proc, slot for recharge, and keep Healing Flames on auto. Really then, as I've said before, I'm often faced with the choice of either taunting and keep the team alive, or healing and keeping myself alive.
On the other paw, I'll be the first in line to admit that I'm just rather bitter over how Fire Aura has been handled. So maybe everything I say on it should be taken with a barrel of salt. -

I'm thinking.
No.
Ninja run should remain a power only available to players who have purchased the Natural Booster Pack. -
Quote:Um. That pretty much sums up fire tanks.
More recharge would also be nice, but the more I look at this build, it just seems mediocre on Damage and actual Tankability.
They're down on defensive powers because the development idea was that they would trade off defensive powers for more offense. But the fact is the current dev team has never rebalanced, or even looked at the set, since Jack added the +fear to burn and Enhancement Diversification was implemented. Many of us fire tank players have been begging, for literal years in some cases, for the dev team to do SOMETHING to fix the design issues that still haven't been addressed. As far as I'm aware, no developer has actually responded to either defend the bad design of fire aura, or to say that changes are going to be implemented. The invuln rework, I want to say in Issue 12?, seriously ticked a lot of fire aura players off because a set that didn't need a rework got one... and the devs STILL declined to fix fire aura.
Just to give you a taste of what I'm on about, check this thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=198671 -
Quote:I guess I'm not sure what your question is.so again i've been away from the game for a while and wondrred if there's alpha classes in this game also what are an arcanos widow, an arcanos soldier, and a warshade?
Do you mean something like World of Warcraft's Death Knight were you start at a higher level than everybody else and are automagically more powerful?
No. You'll need to look at other games for something like that.

Now, City of Heroes does have Epic archtypes, such as the Arachnos player characters, and the Kheldians. However, the word Challenge is better used than Epic. On the hero side of the game, the Epic Classes start the players out with ambushes, enemies that can two shot a player, or mez a player till the player is defeated. The Villain Epic classes lack such challenges, but instead feature a career style leveling path where they can pick what they want to be at high levels. -
or, you know, he could be on vacation.
Or, you know, he might have a policy of not answering private messages.
Or, you know, he might have a ton of private messages and yours just got lost in the shuffle.
I just love it when people presume that a "no response" from a dev automagically becomes confirmed doom and gloom. Oh wait, love is the wrong verb. -

Quote:To make my point on this, I'm going to point you to this thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=199172All of me thinks you took him seriously and shouldn't have.
In it, a player on our forums initially reported information on Half Life 3 and a Half Life Re-imagined thinking that the news came from a realistic twitter account for Gabe Newell.
Just because something somebody says is an obvious fake, or an obvious sarcastic comment, or an obvious joke, does not mean that everybody realizes that. It's important, especially on these forums where there are lots of new players who will take anything at face value, to respond to the bad ideas and off-comments in such a way that even players with no background information will be able to understand why something is a bad idea, or why something is not a joke. -

Stupid thing... Greetings everyone. Any reports of my disappearance are premature. Unfortunately, my account got canceled because there wasn't enough on my card to cover the monthly fee. So I had to disappear for a few days, until I got paid today. But I'm all paid up and and back! -
Part of me wonders why on earth you think this. Part of me says I don't want to know. Part of me says you typed this just to be prat and get yourself flamed.
Thing is that I can come up with several good reasons to have private channels. For starters, if you have a supergroup, there's a good chance that many of your SG members will be playing on multiple servers, or might be playing a different side of the game (heroes or villains). Having a global channel enables a SG leader to keep track of "everybody" whose playing online, whether or not they are actually on a character in that supergroup. If somebody wants to do a Task Force, Trial, or Strike Force, they just announce it in the global channel, and SG member's have time to switch over and bring a character to the event.
A second reason is that you can communicate with other players and avoid people you might not like very much.
From your typed post, I suspect that you've probably been thrown on a couple ignore lists and that quite a few people don't want to play with you. I can only presume that you want private channels banned so that everybody has to listen to what you have to say and you can join and speak in any channel you wish. No, I don't have any evidence to back this particular train of thought up, but I'm really not able to fathom why anybody would advocate the point you have if this wasn't part of the reason. -
Quote:Lesse... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Savage Dragon. Wolverine. Beast. Batman. That's just off the top of my head of real comic book characters who feature animal inspired: aka: FURRY designs.I want a pack of more natural but cool (none of the devs will get this) clothing, FINALLY! No furries... but real comic book stuff. Some heroes and villains don't wear ninja, sci-fi or magic like clothing. There are other things, unfortunately not enough right now. Throw a guitar power in for the bonus power. Makes them dance, long recharge etc. I just want the clothing really.
So I'm not really getting where your saying that you want real comic book stuff... but you don't want stuff that actually already is in comic books. -
I'm not able to recall a time, even in beta, when Ourobous was shared between sides.
Far as I'm aware, only Pocket D and Rikti War Zone are co-op. (and Cimerora / Midnight Club. Thanks. No idea how I forgot them) -
/no to the original concept. Just. no.

However, it might be interesting if future Giant Monsters are built to take down one part at a time. -

I suspect it would take some tech and UI work that won't be available until after Going Rogue for an actual fog on / off option to be implemented. Would be nice if you could specify Fog per Floor on some maps. E.G. : first floor of an office building clear. Second floor looks like Dark Astoria. Third Floor is Ruladak's can't see 5 feet.

Quote:I can't speak for Justice, I don't play on the server, but global channel fragmentation is actually quite common. Triumph, for example, has a couple of Triumph Watch Channels. Victory has at least two Victory Badge channels. Then there are the multiple private channels that exist on each server. BattleClinic, for example, has a private channel. The Dolls, one of Triumph's older themed Supergroups, has a private channel. Members of the Girls of Nukem High, another Triumph Themed Supergroup, have a private channel.OK, I've been in on JFA (old and new) for a while now. Recently I was invited to join Justice United. I get the impression this is supposed to be another JFA type channel. I don't quite get why this is a good idea. Wouldn't it just fragment the population so there is less traffic on each channel?
There are multiple reasons that drive people to create private channels, or to create splinter groups of existing channels.
Sometimes, in the case of the original splits on Victory Badges and Triumph Watch, it was to get around one of the design faults of the global channel system. Currently once you join a channel, you've joined it, whether or not you actually enter the channel... or play. So Channels that have been around for a significant amount of time can wrack up huge member lists... that the mods can't do anything about unless a player is logged on. Many channel owners then create a second channel, invite all of the active players to the second channel, then let the first channel just die. They can't delete it, but who knows. Maybe one day the developers will allow channel moderators to purge channel members who are not logged on.
***
Then there are the various personal conflicts that can result from channel problems. Kay Parfait and Magenta Bolt, to use as an example from Triumph, got fed up with problem players and issues in Triumph Watch, and simply created their own private channel for the people they liked playing with.
If you browse over to the Triumph Section of the board, you'll find a couple of posts by, or about, players like Sun Splitter and TamakiRevolution. These guys are well known for derailing conversations in the Triumph Watch channels and making life miserable for anybody actually trying to get a task force or badge hunt together, as referenced by a particular thread. All it takes is one or two bad apples, and players won't be inclined to visit or use a particular channel.
***
The Global Channel system used to be limited to, I want to say 5, 5 channels for one global account. A little over a year ago the limit was raised to 10, so for most players with only one or two servers, it's not a big deal to watch the big global channel, keep an eye on the supergroup channel, keep an eye on the smaller role-playing channel or splinter channel, and so on and so forth. -
Quote:Under order by the Mayor of Paragon City all buses were parked until the Giant Monster problems had been solved. This was done after a petition was found signed by the Kraken, Jurrasik, Babbage, and Lusca to import a Sensational Monster, New From Japan, to eat busses. You realize I was being facetious, right? I've no idea what all the bus stops are for. Maybe there is a transit strike we don't know about?

Quote:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=141but its stillthe CrypticEngine, revised or not the source IS the same.
both companies ran with it into their own way but its the same engine. Like how most FPS uses UnrealEngine3 with heavy revisions but its still UE3 and their will be hard limits. Non human chanraces may be the CrypticEngine limit
Quote:It's more than a revision break. Cryptic built a brand new animation and development tool from the ground up for MUO which became the engine for all their non-CoH projects. -
CO doesn't use the same engine. There was a revision break way back when Champions Online was still Marvel Universe Online and was being manufactured as the replacement to City of Heroes.

I find myself agreeing with the original post. I'd really like to see some more Furry costumes added to game. I'd like to see some fox tails, some beaks, some crane ears, animated tails... although the moving tails has come up a lot and from the way I think Sexy Jay has phrased the response before, the only way we'd get animated tails is if it was an option like a cape. I believe Jay has said that he's trying to stick to only one animated object on a player. Sounds fine to me.
I'd also be thrilled if Paragon Studios got a couple of Furry artists to design some costumes for the game. The idea isn't without precedent, Paragon Studios / NCSoft have been signing up Sci-Fi and Fantasy writers for Mission Architecture content. Would it really be that big a deal to get artists like RH Junior, Miss Mab, or Holly Ann to come up with some costume designs?
