Quote:Okay. So I'm wrong about it having an acc check but not needing the accuracy check.Basically everything that does something has an accuracy rating whether or not it is autohit. A power that summons pets will have an accuracy rating even though it's not possible to "miss" summoning a pet. Dull Pain has an accuracy rating. So does Hover. Check it out for yourself.
And yes, I have an Elec Armor toon who has it. It cannot miss.
Thing is, I haven't ever taken Power Sink, even though I do have an electric armor brute, an electric armor tank, and a couple of defenders that are 47+, so I'm just going on what the power says in the description. Every other +end power I've had, can miss. Which, on both my fire tank and fire scrapper have lead to embarrassing deaths as consume failed to gain any endurance from a single target. I had presumed that Power Sink would be no different. -
Quote:This, ya beat me to it.It is not exactly a favorite power, but I think it is underappreciated: O2 Boost. One power that provides a somewhat weak heal, but also Endurance Drain resistance and mez protection. During a PUG where teammates are falling left and right, a wakie + O2 Boost puts them back in the action much faster. Similarly, Increase Density from Kinetics, which can provide short-term knockback protection and some mez protection.

Um. No.
edit: apparently, even though it's got an acc check listed, it does indeed to appear to be auto-hit.
Power Sink Blaster: 1.00 accuracy check
Power Sink Brute: 1.00 accuracy check
Power Sink Stalker: 1.00 accuracy check
Power Sink Scrapper: 1.00 accuracy check
Power Sink Tank: 1.00 accuracy check
Power Sink Defender Epic: 1.00 accuracy check
So... that's pretty much every version of Power Sink other than the Corruptor and Dominator Patron set (that I can't show because I don't have a level 41 in either class).. and I'm betting they have accuracy checks too. -

I gots my hopes up for nothing -
Just fired up the patcher during the maintenance window and a patch is being loaded. No updates to the loading screen, but might this mean the Winter Event will be operational when the server access is flipped back on. Here's hoping it is! *scampers to be first in line on the slopes*

I spend enough time knocking Nvidia's lack of driver quality on these forums. I didn't want yet another thread with Saist fussing about Nvidia's incompetence at programming drivers. -
Quote:Honestly,. it's often easier with ATi cards to tell you who not to buy from. Don't buy from Diamond Multimedia.OK. Here is my Item list as it currently stands.
The GTX 260 is back in stock, but for how long. I'm also now pretty attached to the idea of having DX11 support so I'm pretty sold on the Radeon 5770.
I'm not really sure which brand of Radeon to go with though. Anybody have any preference on that? If so who and why?
As a hold-over from their days of manufacturing cards directly with no third party partners ATi has a rather... high... quality standard they expect manufacturing partners to meet. For the most part vendors like HIS, PowerColor / Tul, Asus, XFX, VisionTek, and Sapphire tend to make really good graphics cards.
I, personally, wouldn't buy MSI, Gigabyte, or Jaton, mostly because their non-graphics cards products that I've bought just haven't been that good.
If it was my money on the line, I'd be looking at the slighty more expensive $180 Sapphire and XFX cards:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102858
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150447
Why? Well, I've got a couple of Sapphire 4850's with the non fully ducted fans... And um... at full tilt, it's loud. Not as loud as a GeforceFX 5800 I ran a few years back, but still loud enough that even with headphones on I know when they've kicked into high gear. They get loud because they just can't exhaust the heat from the GPU's.
Okay, I haven't got a 5770 card, so I don't actually know if they have the same problem with the non-ducted versions being unable to exhaust the heat properly. The 5770 cards are supposed to put off less heat than the older 4870. As I understand the Radeon lineup the 5870 has the same thermal envelope as the 4870, so the cut 5770 should have a much lower thermal output.
So in theory, or if you don't mind the noise, you could probably use one of the $165 5770 models and be fine with the fan they ship with. -
not to be a jerk.
Okay, I am with this... but... you seriously think WoW came up with this? BZZZT WRONG!!!
Planetside had a cross-continent auto-join team feature for, well, couple of years now. In the Planetside system you could setup spots asking for a Medic, an Engy, a Pilot, a Combat Engy, and Advanced-Med, a specific vehicle driver, and so on. You could also state what the purpose of the team was for. Dropping Gens, taking towers, CC holds, Courtyard holds, and so on.
At the time of it's inception, the Planetside LFT system was possibly one of the best aggregate Looking for Team systems implemented in any MMO. Unfortunately, many of the teaming improvements came after the dev team had successfully chased off the majority of the player base. -

check your PM's. The same issues occurs on several other games with one of the vendors whose product you've used in that system.

The flight speed cap is 58.63mph. You can reach this by slotting fly and swift with flight speed boosts.
Now, I've got a stone tank with 5 7.5 run speed Gift of the Ancient Procs (37.5% run speed), regenerative tissue 2 slot (4% run speed boost), 2 level 50 crafted IO's in swift (64.16% run speed boost), 2 slot performance shifter (5% run speed boost), and a single level 50 crafted IO in sprint (71.20% run speed boost). At level 50 I am able to hit 63.27mph run speed after turning on Ninja run.
So yes, you can outrun fliers with Ninja run, swift, sprint, and several base speed IO's.
You just aren't going to be outrunning Flight by that much. If you're just running on SO's, fliers will be be waving by by to you.
***
For reference, I've got a level 50 illusion / storm that can hit flight cap speed at 50 with 1 level 35 crafted flight IO in Swift, 1 level 44 freebird fly IO in fly, and 4 sets of force feedback. Just with the single flight IO's in Swift and Fly puts the flight speed over 56mph, within 2mph of the flight cap. If the devs would raise the flight cap so that sets like Blessing of the Zephyr and Winter's Gift weren't spinning their boosts pointlessly on Fly, you'd still be waving bai bai to those with heavy IO'd run slotting on Ninja Sprint. -

Okay, I know I'm getting hung up on the joke, but I think Santa would wind up talking with Linux Torvalds, David Airlie, Andrew Morton, or maybe when it comes to Luminary, ennead or syncon. -

I'd pick Faathim over Loony to play.
Why? Eh, Faathim's the good guy, and for the most part succeeds in fighting Rularuu while being part of Rularuu. -
Quote:um. No.Oh? So when was your last base raid?
That's really the only thing I can think of as far as base issues that Dr_Dositheus was referring too, but still, it's one that people still want.
Even when base raids were active, very few supergroups were actually doing them. Very few could actually risk the prestige to repair a base after a raid, and oh yes, the design was that other other sg's could permanently destroy items in the base. Hence the various upgrades to a base that would allow the recovery of destroyed objects. We've been down this little mythical path that the players want base raids before. A very small minority of players want this, and that's not enough to justify development costs. -
Quote:Charlie over at SemiAccurate talked about this as well:That bit of information made it out into the news and hasn't been confirmed by Nvidia on their website (perish the thought!) but has been dug out by diligent tech-sites like Anand.
Excerpt:
http://semiaccurate.com/2009/10/06/n...5-prices-soon/
http://semiaccurate.com/2009/10/06/n...gh-end-market/
Now, you generally do need to take anything Charlie says with a bit of... well... a barrel of salt. He's from The Inquirer, a site more known for deliberately getting tech news wrong than getting it right.
That being said, Nvidia EOL'ing the G200 series of chips is something that has been circulating in too many circles. Nvidia's pretty much denied saying they have EOL'd the chip series, saying that the rumors about cutting off chip orders were about the retreat from the chipset market... but now... looking at the supply problems with GTX video cards, it does seem like Nvidia has cut production of the current set-up. -
Acer's a good brand on monitors right now. I've got one of their 24" screens right now.
