Suggestion:
Remove Auto SK from AE. This might also cut down on things.
[/ QUOTE ]I'd go the opposite way and add auto-SK to normal missions. One of the big headaches putting together teams for things outside of AE is making sure everyone is close enough in level that they all get XP and inf. If everybody was SKed to maybe 3 levels below the person who set up the mission, that would do a lot to make regular missions attractive compared to AE.
Farming aside, one of the nice things about AE is that everyone can participate no matter what level they are. -

I don't get why everyone is against double xp for AE, not everybody uses it to farm.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everybody, true. Which is why we can't justify nuking the middle east to put a huge dent in terrorism.
But unlike my poor analogy, I'd say 90% of the AEers are farmers.
[/ QUOTE ]I think most AEers are "farming agnostic" -- they aren't specifically looking for farms, but they'll do whatever they can get on a team for. -
I still am kind of a newbie. I started playing when I installed Windows on my Mac to play Warhammer Online -- City of Heroes had always looked cool, but my older computers couldn't run Windows well enough for gaming, so City of Heroes was not at the top of my mind by the time I got a machine which could run it. I couldn't tell you when exactly I first tried City of Heroes, but my oldest character is a Mace/Shield Brute, and apparently Shield Defense is new.
I didn't play regularly until the Mac version was released. I knew I liked the game from playing it in Windows, but rebooting all the time was a hassle so I had quit both Warhammer Online and CoH.
Now my Brute is level 50, and I made all but the last 2 levels outside of mission architect. But I get the impression that there is a lot I don't know about the game.
For example, I know almost nothing about Task/Strike Forces. I have no idea what you do to start one (outside of the MA that is). I know that I didn't get to do every story arc as I leveled, so I don't know if I just missed whatever leads to Strike Forces or what.
I've accidentally joined a few SGs and VGs, usually when I think I'm expecting a team invite and someone sends a blind SG/VG invite at the same time. I really don't know what the purpose to being in a SG or VG is at all. -
I'm pretty much the same. I played CoH and Warhammer Online in Boot Camp for a few months, but quit both because rebooting into Windows all the time was too much of a hassle. I started up CoH again as soon as the Mac client came out and it's become my main MMO.
Something else to consider is that since MMOs are social games, people get pulled towards what their friends play and away from things their friends don't play. When WoW was released, I had 5 friends that quit EQ because they could play WoW with me. CoH has been similar, with most of my friends letting their accounts lapse when I couldn't play the game with them. It's just better to play MMOs with your friends, and if one of your friends can't play a certain MMO then it really isn't an option for you either. -

To Silencer... I never had any recharge enhancements, not sure where you got that impression. But after I hit 13 and added 1 slot each to Bash and Pulverize I had some recharge enhc in my inventory and no -End (and I'm poor so I couldn't afford to buy any) so I threw them in. It didn't help my Endurance but it did wonders to my damage output and my Fury. The recharge were replaced by -End as I got them but when I have 6 slots per attack I will definately use at least 1 for recharge. Warmaces fastest attack has a 4sec cooldown, recharge ench definately help.
[/ QUOTE ]As slow as WM is, Recharge definitely helps, but you should have 2 each of Accuracy and Endurance Reduction first. By the time you have more than 4 slots in each attack, you should have enough attacks that Recharge isn't such a big deal, but it's still helpful.
The one thing I haven't seen mentioned is that you should slot an Accuracy in your basic Punch, and add that to your attack rotation any time everything else is on cooldown. It's not much damage, but it keeps your Fury from draining while you're waiting on real attacks. -
Great idea, though from a role-play perspective "Probation" makes a lot more sense than "Duress". In comics heros that join villains under duress are usually just setting them up, or they go all the way and never return to heroics. Villains on the other hand often have some good cause they are interested in; maybe they only turned to crime to pay for their sick child's medical bills, or maybe in their mind they are some sort of twisted Robin Hood fighting the establishment. Or maybe they are a villain just because it's fun, in which case they'll do good when good is fun too.
Good idea though.
