Got some notes this morning on the piece, made some changes, which I think improves the piece, and hopefully captures the personality of one of the characters more closely.

LOL, very nice alex.
One question who is the character asking for change in the background.
maybe the pink peregrine can be white peregrines arch nemesis. Or maybe its the Stygian Crows thong.

That's Yellow Wolf.
Yes the Prodigiously Pilfering Pink Peregrine, the ultimate Nemesis to the White Peregrine!! -

For Sketch a Day, I'm using a 9"x12" sketchbook, but commissions are all digital and they are 11"x17" 300dpi. -

yay big giant tablet!!!! I'm sure it'll work fine, it's the artist not the tool that's important, but nice tools makes things a little easier!
Maybe it's time to try to draw with the other arm! Always wanted to try doing that myself! -
Decided to play with Painter because I haven't used it in ages!
Now in Painter
Close up
Still lots to do, but Painter is such a fun and complex program! -

yes the truth is out, White Peregrine is with egg! We'll still trying to find out who the father is, will keep the community updated! And reports of WP being a fungus and growing on Roxtar have been greatly exaggerated.

It was bound to happen, not content with staying in the sketch a day thread, Mistress Vine breaks out to her own post, and she's forcing me to paint her as well.

search for this: 42-16438249 at corbis. it's the picture's id number.
42-16327389 is a nice one too.
try different search terms like swimming, underwater, they have lots of stuff, sometimes you need to narrow your searches other times more general searches will work. -

check out photo reference sites, my goto site is usually Corbis they have a search feature, and images on google is also good.
Use the Searchfu young padawan! Membership at corbis is free and then you can get photos without the watermark.
Oh start creating a reference library if you don't have one. -
here's the composition I think I'll go with, her floating there by herself seemed a bit bland, so I thought, hmmm needs something...
final composition -
Thanks, I am really liking this one! Gonna try to really push it. I think I already said how I'm looking forward to doing the wings, which of course will be the last thing I do!
