I'm gonna guess that you are using Photoshop to ink, since you mention it, if you leave all the settings to normal, no special brushes, you can achieve nice smooth lines by drawing from your elbow and not flicking your wrist. example is over here: bobba fett
You can also ink with vector programs, flash is fun and easy, and pressure senstive, just use standard brush and set min and max size to get a nice varied stroke. Again, you need to use nice smooth arm movement. You'll be basically drawing, ctrl-z, drawing ctrl-z till you get that sweet line. You'll undo less and less as you get better, but rare is the first line that you throw down that works. Now you can also do this in Illustrator, double click on the brush icon, set fidelity to 0, and smoothing to around 50-60 but you can play with it. uncheck leave selected, cause that bugs. This method is less mind numbing to me than selecting and filling and you can "paint" in illustrator.
and practice, months, and months and even years of practice. It's very discouraging to pick up the tablet pen and find out that you can't do the simple things you can with a pencil and brush, but you didn't learn to do that overnight either. Good luck and keep at it.
Of course having a fast computer, lots of ram, scratch disk dedicated to Photoshop, etc, etc, will help. -
I just made myself, and figured an Illusion Controller would be fun to play, I thought about making Sapphire Rayne again, but no one really associates her with me, so it actually gives me free reign to make whatever I want!

I like this shot! I'm imagining announcer voice saying "And so Our Heroes emerge victorious!"
Was that just angled from your perspective in reverse to take that shot? It almost looks like someone else was shooting from a crouched position.

Just a reverse shot, I was lucky and that angle worked out so nice, it's my fav of the bunch, I put the rest up at the Envisionaries Board -
hhhaha, I guess that's another way to take a Giant "down." What two consenting beings decide to do is up to them, I don't judge.
-
That's an awesome shot Kilo, are you trying to punch him i the ding ding? Cause I hear that's the best way to take a giant down...

Here's a shot of Great Britainnic, Cosmic Freeze, Imagesbyalex, Lady Judgement, Burning-man, Captain Palladium, Mertha, Siouxsie's Mistress
After CLEARING a Safeguard on Talos, we ROCKED -

I have an in game and real life friend who has an Elec/Energy Blaster named Ultrazephyr, mind if I toss him in there for "U"? I ask because he's not a member of this community.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe playing the game makes em part of the community. So get some good screenshots and put him in!
And put Yellow Wolf in there as there seems to be no Y yet! It'll be funny when he see it and wonders if he's posting in the forums in his sleep!
Gonna make Sunday the deadline, so get your entries in! So that's Sunday 11:59pm pacific time. Good Luck! -
Okay, here's the deal, I want to use this idea for the Comic Contest.
1. If you don't want me to use your character in the Comic Contest, let me know ASAP
2. You won't need to write anything now, I'll just choose based on the screenshots you submit.
Thanks! -
oh your comments are welcomed, as for the cape and legs, it is an issue that i hope to address tonight, I'm doing the working from back to front thing, even though I jumped around at first.
I like how it all started with a scribbly sketch. -
A small update I'm still playing around with the gloves, it's coming along, going to for a big push tonight, so probably won't be running with the SG...even though it's so much fun!!!!

alliteration, consonance, limericks, clever prose, what have you, to make you stand out, no Haikus as that's been done and done well already!

M is for Massacre
The marriage of multiple meanings of a magical minor, from the 'Massacre' to the 'Magister' measure the manner of her miscellaneous mischief. The machinations of a malicious murderer reveal a maelstrom of macabre mysteries. Melodramatic musings of maleficent messengers manipulating a mutual minuscule maiden. A maneuverable mosquito masquerading as a miniature member of mankind. Masochistic materialism, a melange of media, music and magazines melting memes to make this medieval into a modern. Messy memories of a misogynist master, once a mercenary of Mephistopheles, merge to manufacture her melancholic miasma. A microcosm of misanthropy makes up this magical maniac, a magnum opus of malignant madness who manages to maintain the moniker of 'Melanie.'

wow, I guess this will be how I will decide which character to choose. All you other m's still have a chance....maybe. -
oh thanks Lightslinger, that's cool, that makes my life easier, hard part is gonna be choosing who goes with each letter!
-
The adesso uses batteries in the pen and mouse, while the wacom doesn't. I don't think the adesso has tilt, but not positive. OH you might want this one link cheaper, refurb though.
-
Let's keep it one toon per person okay. Ya greedy bunch ya! :P
-
So I did this today K is for Kilotonnage and I thought, hey how about the whole alphabet! It would consist of the letter and a pic of the toon, otherwise people who don't know Kilo would just look at it and go huh...
So submit your character, will need a screenshot. Was debating on S is for Statesman and M is for Manticore, but I think it would be cooler if it was just our toons.
This will take me some time to do, as I have other stuff, but I thought this would be a fun idea!
K is taken unless Kilo wants to give up his letter. This is NOT first come first serve, rather I'll choose, and the better the screenshot, the better your chances!
*edit* Let's keep it one toon per person! -
I keep on forgetting, here's a Link to free images of books by Andrew Loomis. These books are all out of print and super expensive, you can find old copies, but anyhow, one of the best instructors over at my art school use to hand out these, they are really really good! For proportion, or what have you!

It's a great drawing and shows lots of potential! Keep on going! I'm sure TA will love it!
