Are you playing a beast mm currently (I thought you said you were going to play one in beta, but I don't remember if you did?). I am, and I'm not seeing any particular attack chain gap issues, even without the 32 buff. Sure, I see a gap once in a while, but generally they and/or the targets are moving once in a while as well, so I barely notice...
You wrote a great guide on crabbing, you should quit while your reputation is intact. Nerf-saying against other powersets is also pariah material.

  4. Well most of you missed the point of the thread, this wasn't an attempt at gloating, or whining.

The question was, is there any content that is profitable with this character? And from the answers that were on track with the premise of the thread, I gather the answer is still no.

[Conclusion]~No one large target is not as profitable as 100 smaller targets with AOE. That's all I wanted to know.~

Now what about an AE arc full of Giant Monsters and AV's? Are there any repeatable AV's or GM's in the game that are repeatable? Answer still no?

Also thank you Necro for the reply, Mind/fire have been in the back of my mind for some time. I've always toyed with the idea of rolling some type of mind control toon.

  6. I finally built up the ridiculously expensive ill/cold toon. I am wondering how best to utilize this toon for fun and profit. I would like to retire my ss/fa brute because, well I'm sick of mashing footstomp all day. I figure if I have a toon which can solo AV's and GM's he should be the end all be all and I wouldn't want for anything ever again, right?

Is there any farmable content that would benefit exceptionally well by the ability to solo AV's and GM's?

I suppose I'd like to be able to fund myself with this toon and if possible help SGmates level if need be.

I have the Ice armor from the Ice APP on my Ill/Cold and Arctic Air slotted for Defense, but very little additional defense. Recharge is far, far more important. Use of perma-PA (or even close), Deceive, Blind, Flash and even Sleet and various Slow powers in Cold means that you shouldn't have many attacks aimed at you.

Just to give you an idea, here is my planned build for when I finally gather up all the IOs needed:

I just think the way they portray the weight and handling weapon seems clumsy and awkward and at time's just lazy and plain. Where as the STJ animations looks very polished and energetic.

Yes I believe oomph was the term I was looking for.

The sets do vary quite a bit. Setting aside nukes, Dark Blast is dependent upon cones for its AoE, and as Gemini_2099 pointed out, Assault Rifle really would be much weaker if you didn't take the cones. Psychic Blast's cone is the better of its two non-nuke AoEs, and not taking it would cut into your AoE quite a bit. I also find that Archery's cone is the better of the two non-nuke AoEs in that set (or the least annoying, anyway). Sonic's only real damaging AoE is a cone.

Other sets don't rely on cones so much, or the other AoE attacks in the set are "good enough" without the cone attack. Radiation offers a cone, a targeted AoE, and a PBAoE. I find that cone skippable, particularly with the knockback aspect. I also find Dual Pistols, Fire, and Ice to have cones I'm comfortable skipping. My main is a Ice/Cold corruptor, and I've never felt I needed Frost Breath for adequate AoE on him. Your mileage may vary, of course.

And Electric's got no cone at all.
I really appreciate your thorough answer. It's essentially EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you Pattern.

I took the liberty of clicking on your name and checking back on your post history. I mean, it's possible that you are, indeed, a fount of knowledge, who posts deep, insightful replies to people's questions, full of gentle wisdom much more erudite then my own.

So I read back through your post history, hoping to learn from you. (This is easy to do, I just had to click on your name.)

To my surprise, considering your criticism, I did NOT find you frequently answering questions, or posting builds, or being much in the way of constructive in ANY WAY.

    (I was shocked.)

Instead, I find a sparse history of one-line posts (much like this one), many full of negativity.

To my regret, I must conclude that you are a forum leech, pulling useful content and contributing nothing.

    So, shove off, jerk.

    Is that better?

    (ahem)

Sorry you guys had to see that.
That's more like it, I'm glad you took the advice from my original statement.

I see a LOT of issues with this coming to fruition.
Well just like you don't actually have to plant seeds with your mouse one by one to get a Flytrap pet. I'm sure the drawing portion could be pre-animated. Lol.
