There was someone going to make it for ExpressCard, but it didn't work right, and never made it to market. Speed issues of the bus, and some cooling too, I think... been a while.
They've come out with ExpressCard 2.0 (Don't know where they came up with that number...) and so the thinking is that maybe now, there can be External Video Cards.
I'll believe it when I see it. I can say this: Unless your computer has an ExpressCard 2.0 slot, you won't be gettin' it, methinks.
Unless I'm mistaken, any current stuff is very expensive. More than your laptop in many cases. And they're presentation materials... i.e. still shows, *maybe* movie type stuff but in no way anything like what Co* needs, and definitely not 3D at 15FPS in Atlas Park, much less Grandville or something.
We're just not there yet. And it looks like you don't even have a PCMCIA or ExpressCard slot, so that laptop's out. Might think about getting a better GPU'd laptop maybe? -
Quote:You were very lucky... I've had issues where it has been faster to reset a mission than to wait for the GM. Running a mission team the other day we petitioned a stuck enemy. waited around the mission entrance for a bout five minutes. Got tired of waiting. Exited, reset the mission cleared it and were about half way into the next mission before it the GM got in touch with me.
This. Only it was several missions later, and 3 hours, I think. Told him/her/it to nevermind, we'd moved on.
And only that one time. Most times, it's via the email.
I'm jealous of ya, Sharkbait. I may have to stalk you to find out how you got the GM that fast. -
Quote:Perhaps. But it would be really a 'how much power is being asked' question.Wouldn't that mean that all graphic intensive games would be affected?
The amount of 'thinking' is what the power requirements are... a game can look graphically intensive, but the reality is it is simple in geometry, simple in pattern repitition, and also can be made to be relatively small in area so the GPU doesn't have to think so much. By the same token, the same can be said for how much CPU power is required to run things.
There are so many examples of "(insert game of choice here) plays fine, but Co* doesn't" that have been seen...
To give you a better example... I use Co* to kill a computer if I suspect it's not good. Or I want to try to kill it to be sure it won't die. I used to do Flight Simulator (which is more CPU than GPU intensive... or at least, used to be up to 2004) to try to do that, but nothing... NOTHING... seems to come close to the awesome Hulkish (oops, copyright) power of Co* to make a computer spaz out.
So yeah. Power supply.
And for me, I have found Thermaltake and Cooler Master PSUs to be quite nice. If anyone cares about my opinions, that is... -
Two zones come to mind that are topical:
Hollows and Perez.
Both of these it used to be whatever zone you left from was where you wound up if defeated. For many, that would be Atlas Park for these two zones.
Nooo... the trudgery!!!
But then, somewhere along the line, a little cot and IV were set aside near the Atlas Park entrance, and so now if you get defeated, you wind up there. Which is great, except I was *all the way over at Skyway entrance*. Sheesh.
Anyway, things happen, who knows if Striga, Boomtown, or even the vaunted Perez will get a cot? -
This has been suggested before, but bears repeating. As does a Swinging travel power. Although I have NO idea how you'd do that over the water...

In order:
'stagnant' is correct
'merrier' is correct, although it's 'say', not 'sa'
'unfoundedly' is indeed a Real Word (tm)
/Official Mid_Forever Spell Checker. Just press (sp?)
//Yah, it's been a whiles. -
Can't see anything in 1st person... and it's rather annoying, the shaking camera when 'follow' is turned on. So 3rd person, a little zoomed out from the default. Easier to find new targets.

Just for myself, I've about a 50-50 ratio. Well, ok, 45-45-10 ratio, the 10 being 'other'. As in robots, gods (who take human form only because they have to in the game) that sort of thing.
I roll a character not because I wanna see digitial 3D booty, but because the character concept requires it. A Mind/Emp brings to mind a girl, mad hulking beast brings on a huge guy, and an experimental robot brings on... well, an experimental robot. And given the backstory, the robot also had to be done as a female model, but that's because the scientists in the 50s were perverts.
Point is, for me, the concept dictates the model. So I have a mix. If there was a way to model an airplane, weevil, gigantic microbe, sentient meteor shower, whatever... then I'd make that, if it made sense.
/If that helps any.
//ooh... An earth/storm sentient meteor shower. With Psionic Epic Pool. And swinging travel power. Weird. I like it. I can haz, Devs? *puppy dog eyes and pout* -
One of the best reasons I've ever seen that one hangs up the game. Good on you, AC, and good luck on being a rocket scientist! I also hope that C) is the choice that winds up happening for you, and come on back soon!
/+1 for greatest 'see ya!' post ever in these forums. -
I made Homeslicer, my fastest 50, who's a claws/WP scrapper.
The WP is just so nice... protective, healing, more damage, makin' them miss, all kinds of stuff. Great secondary, love it.
Slotting claws not so much for power as to end reduce, plus having a LOT of offensive powers to chain up, makes for a quick work of +2 and even +3 mobs of 8 or more. Two bosses of +2? No problems. Sure you give up a little offensive power, but WP helps mitigate that, and with an endless supply and good protection... so it takes 2 seconds longer to take the guy out, so? You can keep going, like the Energizer Bunny.
Homeslicer was and is a great soloist, and also a great teamer, I think. Dude can run mobs by himself, and if he's on a team, he's almost a tank, with WP taunting them, affecting the enemies, just keeps going in, even if you're not ready, and if not... well, they're goin' down anyway, so no worries.
Funnest character I have, I use him to test AE arcs now, he's damn near unstoppable.
/he can be stopped... but it's not easy. -
I will wait until 'gold' status, then get a trial, if they have one, if only to see two things:
Tunnelling travel power.
Swinging travel power.
Except for those, I'm not all that interested... I don't like the graphics so much, actually... so I'll likely not be bothering. Not that my puny single voice has anything to do with it. -
And both, indeed, all outdoor maps, are whack when it comes to spawn points.
/halted my arc story in it's tracks.
//don't believe they're interested in fixing it either. -
n00bs are fine until the point where it becomes obvious they're not interested in doing things, but just asking and asking and ASKING AND **ASKING**... which means that you're not playing either, which sucks.
Go forth and learn, padawan, then come back maybe and ask a couple more things, then go forth and apply that advice, and so on.
Game's meant to be discovered, not hand held through it.
/Which is why I keep rolling new ideas out for characters and trying them.
//Finally got to a axe/shield brute... fun times! -
Wired. No weirdness that way, except if you buy a crappy optical one like the tiny Microsoft ones. Those are awful.

Count me in on these problems. The editor is quite the afterthought, but I've tamed it and don't have issues mostly.
The process is simple: Do not use line breaks, make a wall of text. Do NOT use double spaces (like after a period.) Do NOT use special symbols.
The editor is quite tameable in a single spaced block of normal text. AFTER you finish your block, and are satisfied, you can then start adding line breaks, double spacing, etc... Just be sure to start at the TOP and work progressively downwards... and that is going to be farily final. Don't change it after. It'll break again.
Hope that helps y'all. -
Considering other boards too... we're so tame, we're kittens.
Look, I'm not condoning bad behavior. But I'm guilty of a snide, sarcastic, or humorous post here and there too. And sometimes, it's warranted, but mostly, it's just to poke a little fun.
Note that: Poke fun. Especially if the answer has been properly posted, and everyone knows it... the fun usually starts after. Not always though, but mostly.
That halftheif decided it's personal, well, dang, poor guy. Again, scrape the skin, it's too thin. It's the intarwebs, there be dragons here. Knowing that, you can brush off the weird and get to the core of what you need. Or not. Your decision, not ours.
/Mateo, what's up with your avatar? It's huuuge... -
Um... you do know that the forums here are NOT, by and large, done by the devs, but by players... right?
As such, you'll get the same variety of answers, all of which may or may not be right, some of which may or may not be smart-***, all of which you should just take with the grain of salt of 'we're not getting paid' and you'll be ok with what comes about when you post up something.
That, and I recommend scraping your skin a bunch to thicken it up, seems it's a little thin overall.
