  1. Pinnacle, 9pm friday night.

Plannin' to be there to help out with... something. I have something in the 1-8 range somewhere in there... *rummages in the toy chest...*

This sounds perfect. an entirely sweeped zone for an hour? Sounds rather epicish.
  2. Female characters *always* get Stillettos or Thigh High boots. Always. It just looks right, nothing like clambering through rubble, climbing rocks, or fighting off all of their foes in their spiked heels and hose... And usually, midriffs are revealed. And they're at least slim-to-athletic. Then again, I'm a male pig. Oink.

Male characters... no abused parts that come to mind. Whatever they need is what they get. Cloaks, boots, hats... nothing springs out at me as 'oh yeah, I use that all the time.'

    Riddick 3 Info

    Shouldn't that be Riddick 4?

    Here's '2'... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chr...ick:_Dark_Fury

/Still haven't seen it, but... it's supposed to be 'canon', I believe...
  4. But... it's such as cool thread title. You HAVE to put something here!
  5. Oh, now why would there be 'eye bee tee el' involved? It's not even a competitor at this point.

I don't think it will be, honestly... too... Tabula Rasa lookin'.

Like the graphics, though and the trailer is pretty nifty... Although, as expected, the game play vs the trailer? Not the same. At all.

Do like the Firefly vibe of it though. I may get in just to see, but like (the game what's name shall not be mentioned), I expect I won't like it and be right back here as is my modus operandii.
  6. Not readin' the whole thing... but I'm there. The Dawn Sisters are there, and I'm still working on Rose Dawn, who's currently a 41.6. Only 7.4 to go!

/ought to be done in 2 years...
  7. I bet you'll be back, but that's not a challenge for you to prove me wrong.

Therefore, farewell, but not good bye! 'Till then...
  8. Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: ...too many variables to explain, but maybe. Your machine, and it's cleanliness, your internet speed, up and down, your location, and the server in question's ability to keep up are all factors. If you're having issues with Virtue and Freedom, then there may be nowhere to hide once CoH:Freedom hits from teh LagMonstah.
  9. Can't read all the responses, but I'll just post my own thoughts.

Initally: WOW. SO much better than that other attempt.

Second: Man, I can see these, they kinda fit the idea pretty good. Thorny costumes. That Death Mage's back 'wings' though are... interesting.

Third: I'm gonna miss the old CoT look.

Fourth: I'm good with it. Really, I am.

While not as ceremonial as the old outfits, and I'm not terribly pleased with the non-cloak look overall... These are acceptable, and should scare the **** outta me when I round the corner and smack right into about 4 Death Mages...

...as long as they lose the magenta, I mean honestly... NOT getting the 'why' of that color on them...

/Really, though, I'll be ok with this.
//Still think they need full robes and not the half ones they got now.
    ///It's about the animations, methinks.
  10. Grats to ya Ronin! I'mma gonna go play this. Always interested in highly acclaimed work.

    ---

But I can see why the AE is still broken in certain areas, as Aeon has apparently been off doing MA Arcs instead of fixing problems.
  11. Ender's Game was on the list, and that makes me happy.
  12. Numina: 15
    Synapse: 39
    Citadel: 11-1=10
    Statesman: DEAD
    Back Alley Brawler: 58
    Manticore: 37+1=38
    Positron: 38
    Sister Psyche: 42
  13. Well, they could put them in electric spiky tights and make them a deep russet and gold...

Oh, wait, they tried that on CoT and we revolted...

/be careful what you wish for...
//I'm sure they'll choose different colors for the Khelds.
  14. I like 'pancake'. That's hilarious, and yet, awesome as a substitute. I'm totally gonna use this IRL at some point.

But to the overall subject: Kudos and well done! It's really neat to relive the basics vicariously, isn't it? Not done it often, but now... hm.. may spend some time in Atlas or something...
  15. Personally, I'm waitin' for a Speed Racer sequel.

/ducks various things bein' thrown at him...
    //*whimpering* well, I can't help that I liked it...
///awaits the return of Shego just to beat me upon the head for mentioning it.
  16. Re: Deleting a *50*?! Horrors. I mean... the time and effort to get there, and someone actually deletes them?!

Man. I can't do that to a 20. Figure by then I know what I'm doin' with it.

Then again, I rarely roll something without an idea of what I'm goin' after, and I never respec.

Well, there was this one respec, but it wasn't an actual respec.... I made that second combat thingy so Ruby could have Super Jump instead of Teleport so she could get Presents faster in Atlas.

SJ is SO much better than TP for that.

Only one I've done. It's a horrid (for me) process...

/oh, have I sidetracked? My bad. Back in line, thread.

I apologize, I read that wrong. That, I admit, is totally awesome.

But I'm still worried about the 'uberness' being built in to the characters automatically, and with little extra effort.

I now mention the automatic fitness pool. Although, it is handy. And the bank travel powers, rendering those pools nigh on obsolete.

But yes, Enhancements, more of them, that's sweet.

I'll exit now, I don't think this is the thread to debate the strength of characters, carry on with the celebrations of extra costume slots!
  18. I am impressed that, in Album 3, there is a Jayna sighting.

    /Wonder Twin Powers... Activate!
    //Shape of... an Elephant!
//Form of... a bucket of water!
///Extinguishes fire with a lot of Zan.
////which kills him, I would think.
/////and ew, Zan in her nose... yuuuuckkk...

Yeah, I've seen that episode. I find it hard to believe that a simple hand mirror, or wall mirror, can be used in that way. His hair holds up multiton rocks with a single strand. I am thinking the laser eyes would melt the mirror.

Further, if that's all his hair would need, then his skin would be vulnerable, because (and this is assuming similarity in density akin to humans, percentagewise) anything that can cut hair can cut skin.

And so all one has to do to kill him is to get close enough to use bolt cutters on his jugular. Kryptonite not needed. (Superman IV)

So while it's cute, I don't think that it's possible even his laser eyes would really work in "reality", but hey, it's comics. Retcons and resurrections and such. Yay.

  21. Dual inspirations? 20 more inspirations?

Add to this the IOs and Alphas... are there any reasons to think about a character anymore when you can just brute force your weaknesses into submission?

Begs the question: So, when do we get to pick and choose any power from any power set at any level for any archetype?

For example, I want a character that has some fire, mind, energy, henchmen, empathy, claws, super strength, willpower and super reflex powers all in one.

The day isn't a long wait before I get that, at this rate.

/just sayin, there sure be a lot of 'get out of wimp' items in the last few issues...
//maybe I'm just being all 'get off my lawn', and I need to not worry about it.
///oh, and 'c h i n k s' is a legitimate word, and I find it offensive it's in the list, and had to replace it with 'weaknesses'.

The two groups hated each other for their obvious "difference" but the clear social commentary raised by the episode was that their struggle was ultimately absurd and pointless. Is there nothing that Star Trek can't teach us?
This. And no, there is nothing that Star Trek can't teach us, nothing at all. Star Trek was (is, will be) it's very best with episodes like this.

I will leave with this (dunno if it's been mentioned before in the thread)... do you see men in womens professional or olympic gymnastics, swimming, softball, skating, or, dare I say it, the LPGA (golf)? That last is highly important. Why? Because a woman attempted to compete in the PGA, and it didn't work out very well... but hey, if that can happen, why not a guy who isn't as competitive in the PGA 'drop down', if you will, to the LPGA and kick their buttocks?

    No?

    Interesting.

    And that's all I got.

/yes, I know it's a server vs sports, but really... CoH is best integrated, and let's leave it at that, shall we?
  23. I have tip missions and I don't need them for some of my toons.

And when I looked for them, I got them. Easily.

But I'm not denying that random is random. Just seems to come easily for my toons... odd.

    Uh, Statesman?

You're just now seeing this? States has had wandering eye since day one... which is probably why they're changing the CoH sign on to be Freedom only... the Hero one, his eye is *really* skewed.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, if he can fight with it, hey, whatevs. But you'd think he'd be vain and have it fixed...

Which brings the question... if he's so tough, can he be operated on? I.e., Superman, if he had a lazy eye like that, probably couldn't be operated on unless you Kryptonited him... and I somehow doubt that would be cool with him. Trust issues and all.

Then again, maybe the Justice League could protect him while he's under the knife...

Meh. I find it funny he's clean shaven.
