Quote:Wow. Could be said for so many wars... And the emotional cracking of the voice at the end...Would that be this?

I know as a Medic in a time of war, I myself have felt the same way at times.
Thanks Harry, and not just for that.. You did good. Rest up now. -

Wow, there's some hella awesome list goin' on here...
But I didn't yet see:
Better Off Dead
so I'm gonna say it and see what happens.
---
Edit:
Ooh, no, wait... these all hit me after I hit "post"...
Grumpy Old Men
Grumpier Old Men
China Syndrome
12 Angry Men
Barbarella
Flash Gordon (Ahaaaa..!)
Jewel of the Nile
Iron Eagle
Officer and a Gentleman
Enemy Mine
Brainstorm
Dreamscape
Footloose
Brian's Song
1984 (made, interestingly enough, in 1984)
And of course:
Transformers: The Movie
---
No, wait, these too:
Heavy Metal
Rocky Horror Picture Show (At Midnight, with Audience Participation, of course. The movie itself sucks.)
Shock Treatment (because you just gotta do that if you did Rocky... but there's no AP.)
And some shorts while I'm at it:
Special Delivery (odd Canadian short, only because it was before Rocky in a theater I was frequenting back when... It's... odd.)
405
Recorded Live
And a couple of cool IMAXs:
The Dream is Alive (BEST shuttle movie evar.)
Everest
The Ring of Fire.
Man, if you've not seen half of these... what the heck, dude?
---
I'm gonna mention it, but only because it's got Ann Reinking dancin' in that yellow dress in it, and Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, and Bernadette Peters just chews that scenery up as the bad people:
Annie
/And all if those others in the posts up there...
//If I said I saw most of those, and liked them... and these too... would that make my tastes 'eclectic'?
///I'm goin' with 'yes'.
////Oh, ok, the Autogyro is the other reason I like Annie. So there. -
Here ya go, Doom:

Or, alternately:

/dooooom! -
Dragonfly? Pfft. I want a DRAGON. And I wanna ride it, and fly around the Hollows, Eden, Nerva, and Cimerora. Definitely.
-
The more ideas I hear on this, the better I like this idea. I mean, seriously, how can we NOT get this? It would be ludicrous, and yet just as easily believable as the Thugs MM, where they just... sorta... show up.

Quote:Hey, now, just 'cause I can only type 'gratz!' really quickly while we're in the middle of a nasty mob (because I can do it in .25 seconds, .5 at the max) doesn't mean I'm insincere. Brevity doesn't cut back my emotional ties to that single typed word, the fact I had to take a whole up-to-half-second out of my playing the game and making sure y'all survive or lock down the AV or whatever... and besides I put an "!" on it too, so I REALLY MEANT IT.I still say "congratulations," "way to go!," "well done!," and so forth...I'm probably over-thinking things, but I find the shorthand 'gratz!' or 'cg' come off a bit less meaningful. If I'm taking time to write it, might as well say it well.
Quote:...And the plus side is, a couple of times of "Well done, blasterboy!" and "Congratulations, Ms. Brute!" along with any pleasantries like appreciation for good holds, debuffs, assistance or the like, and I notice the rest of the team tends to become more polite too. Good manners are infectious! (At least around the folks I run with.) Is it silly game manners? Maybe, but recognizing somebody else for doing well is always a good plan, it makes them feel better, and if the players on a team feel better, it's easier to have fun alongside 'em.
But you should TOTALLY understand that 'gratz!' from me really equals about a page and a half essay of how totally freakin' awesome it was you went from a 14 to a 15. Srsly. -

Until they just *gave* it to us: The Fitness Pool.
But since then Mind/ has a special place for me, whether it's paired with /Kin, /Psi, or /Emp. I've not tried others. The Dawn Sisters are the reason for that, they all have Mind/ primaries, but diversified on their secondaries.
Beyond that, I would guess I don't have any favorites. I do like the Necro/ MM I have layin' about somewhere, and Claws/ is just plain awesome, especially when paired with /WP for a scrapper.
Other than that, whatever I build is gonna use whatever power I see fit, so I'm not terribly married to any one set. But Mind/ is really really good stuff, IMO. -
Because we like cheesecake, that's why, so suck it up, and get me some cheescake, ya stick in the mud.
/ok, I only did that because it was there for the taking.
//Does like the cheesecake.
///Delicious, creamy, but firm, and slightly tart, New York Style cheesecake, plain, or maybe with a raspberry sauce on the side... mmmnnn.
////Wait, we *are* talking dessert here, right? -
Wait, there's a cow in the chalet? Where!?
-
I always say "Gratz!" ('cause I can type fast, yo) and I sincerely mean it every time I say it.
But if it's on a Sewer or other fastly levelling thing, I'll do a preemptive "Auto-gratz! to any and all who level, in advance. That should cover ya.", because that can get silly.
And all teams, which lately have been 40+, have said the Gratz to me, and me back at them, but methinks thats 'cause Pinnacle's cool like that. -
Ok, you got me with "Maze of Twisty Passages, All Different". +1
/or is it "Twisty Maze of Passages, All Different?"
//xyzzy -
Dang. Missed it AGAIN.
/I dont suppose you could change the end time, go by the post date, and declare a winner tomorrow morning?
//No, I suppose not. Never mind. -
Thread's already gotten too long... so I'll just leave this here and be done with it. Sorry if that irks some. (Taunt? I must be a Brute or something...
)
Quote:This but with IOs too. I mean... HamiOs weren't enough? And it gave ya a reason to run Hami, but now it's just 'cause you want/can.... Nothing makes you feel as insignificant as having an IOed-to-the-gills toon go try to solo a spawn, only to have someone one-shot the entire spawn before you get there with their Judgement.
I know I can get one too, and I know that I don't have to team with a bunch of other incarnates. But it's still annoying.
I know I'm probably the weird one, but I just simply don't even do IOs. SOs are good enough, and I have plenty of fun with a character. The whole point of IOs, for me, is this: "Spend a lot of time gathering the crud you need to build the IO set, but what good is that unless I'm already a 50... I'd rather play the game."
Yes, I know IOs at 20 or whatever 'count' for something, but I really would rather just... PLAY.
/I also have fun trying different characters out, so I don't miss the whole crafting thing in the first place, as I'd rather explore how a character works... before the screwed around with IOs.
//Never really got to deal with HamiOs either... too much micromanagement.
///Won't probably ever fully Incarnate anything either, too much time to deal with it. -
Quote:Ok, now, I might just have to play the 'brawl only' game. That sounds... painful to do.Literally, you *could* play with that. Some folks have dabbled with *just* Brawl.
More in line with what you may be asking for, I can play with just 3 powers
on my Stalker(s) - Hide, Placate, and AS.
1-Shotting mobs never gets old, and having mobs looking around seemingly wondering
"wth just happened?" after Placate still makes me smile sometimes.
Sure, extra attacks are nice if I want to stick around and be a Pocket Scrapper,
but those 3 can get the job done all by themselves...

Quote:I can paint them any color I want, like the chameleon one that changes from blue to red, depending on the angle you look at it (goes from blue to purple to brown to gold to red, or something like that) I have on me desk, so no, not really. Enjoy your eye burning color of green.you're just jealous cause my laptop's lime green :P...kidding! I understand what you're saying, surprisingly i just had to take the graphics off of high and it fixed the problem
Glad you fixed the problem! Although, I'm saddened you hadda take it down a notch... -
Quote:I think he means an Epic AT since they are the only ones that are limited to start as a particular faction these days.
Now if they were made into an EAT I figure it's more likely they'd start out as Praets because that's the only faction that doesn't have any EAT's yet.
/likes Paragon and Praetoria much better.
//Why is it that Evil is so dirty and messy? -
I must be mis-remembering, because it seems to me the contacts pretty much tell you what kind of origin theyr'e into: Science/tech, magic/science, that sort of thing, as well as what kind of enemies you'll be battling against (Tsoo, Nemesis, etc.)
Now, I admit, that the enemies to a new player could be not-obvious. But the fact that "This guy I want you to mee handles Science stuff" pretty much plonks it down into your face on what you'll be gettin into, I'd say.
And... what fun is playing just one side of a 5-7 sided die? You should know how to beat anything, not just Magic or such. Diversity is awesome... even if you don't get the right drops.
But... maybe I missed something here. -
Oh, Trekkie nerd moment for me!
It's 'Barclay': http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Reginald_Barclay
That is call, carry on.
/don't watch Big Bang.
//Don't watch anything 'cept news and foosball now, and only over rabbit ears.
///I'd find the download for that, though. -
I just have to say, I want this. Badly. Even if I have to roll a villain only to do it.
Expanding the power set...
Rabbits
Deer
Bears
Dogs
Cats
Living Together
Mass Hysteria
Stay Puft Marshmellow Man
Bees (Extreme Damage)
There ya go, the powerset of win. -
Mind/Emp 'Troller
Mez
Dom
Heal Aura.
Good to go, AND I'm soloing.
It'll be slow, but it can be done. May be better as a Dom, with the Fren that was done to them, but I haven't rolled one yet since that Frenning.
Hm. Maybe I'll do this... just to see how much pain I can stand in slowness -
As this is the newest one, I'll reply here.
I believe what you're looking for is 'mouselook' if I remember right (maybe someone will correct me), and you can find the setting to turn it on or off, as well as bind something to toggling the mouselook/target cursor (the arrow) so you can point and click things.
Now as to the whole (the game what's name shall not be mentioned) way of running, which is what I believe you've described... that's turning run on and off, or simply hitting the 'W' key. I'm not a fan of the two-mouse-button moving, pretty much why (the game what's name shall not be mention) turned me off: I got a hand cramp moving about that thing.
But that's me. We're talking about you and your wants and desires. All that you want to do is in the options. You simply have to set it up the way you want, and that, unfornately, is a trial and error thing you have to go through. -
Which one did you get, the green, pink or orange one?
This... abomination, sorry... is a hybrid system with two complete video card systems, the Intel one for the 2D/low 3D stuff, and then it *automatically* switches to the Radeon 6330M for higher end 3D stuff, like Co*.
Only in this case, I'm thinking it didn't. OR, if it did, the drivers are bunk. You should go to your Sony site (this doesn't show up, near as I can tell, on US radars, but Oceana and Asia areas) and get the latest possible. It is *very* likely that with that goofy system, NO REFERENCE DRIVERS WILL WORK.
Found a similar, but wrong part number, laptop in Canada. The latest that Sony shows for the ATI driver is 8.811.1.4, whereas you have a slightly lower version.
In any case, this is a *really* special laptop. So special, I'd be thinking about ditching it. Too fancy for reliablity, you ask me.
Whatever happens, I sincerely wish you good luck with that... thing.
/Dual cards, sure, but *auto switching ones* are... man, that's just *weird*.
