  1. This is really, really cool. Ok, I still have a ways to go on filling my second account with Virtue toons, but cool nonetheless.
  2. Ohh, I like that one!

(does she serve beer, too? )

Only a schmuck would report that

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I wouldn't report it - just pointing it out.
  4. Cool...but DC Comics *might* have a bit of a problem with the name.
  5. Here is my entry, Lucky Slice. A bit upper-crust, military schoolish (I could easily see her riding a horse, too). I think the blue might be one shade too dark, but I didn't realize this until I was finished and I rechecked the palette (my game isn't windowed).
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, perhaps this was a rather difficult one to use. Chose it because I could clearly see the colors it matched up with in the default COH pallet.

Hopefully, the next one will be a bit easier. By the way, winners of the previous contest, I've gotten your messages and your sprites are underway, so don't worry. They'll be out alongside the judgments of this round of costumes.

Regarding the red and green palette...I'm sorry I missed that one, I actually like the combo. Very close to one that someone came up with for a fake football team (text sim) in one of my leagues (Martian mascot). I think the trick was to go with the light green as the main color and red/dark green as the accents.
  7. Woohoo! Thanks Blue Steel! Given the quality of the competition, I'm quite honored.

I'm sure it's been covered in the 20 pages of this thread already, but I do hope that no missions given by non-Hollows contacts give missions in the back of Hollows. I recall one mission door WAY back there that I had to get to with my Grav eons ago. Timed mission, and I was duoed. My friend died at least twice trying to get there, and I died a couple of times in the mission (pre-containment) and had to try to run all the way back from the hospital. Eventually we just gave up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the Dev Diary that was released recently, War Witch did mention that she re-did the way the mission doors are assigned. I'm pretty sure that meant that the doors are now closer to the contacts that give them ... at least for the Hollows.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right, but his concern was receiving missions from contacts outside the Hollows. i know i've had the same thing with KR contacts, and it was rather annoying when some of the team had no effective travel powers. Still, it does sound like the spawns will be less densely packed overall, and most areas will not have the current huge spawn groups, so i expect it will be easier. Past level 20 or so having a mission at the far end of the Hollows isn't so bad, but when you're still several levels below the inhabitants it's painful.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, that was my concern. War Witch said that contacts would only give out for their neighborhoods, but I didn't see anything there that indicated she looked at assignments for non-Hollows contacts. In the example I cited, it was likely a Skyway or Steel Canyon contact, and I was maybe around level 11 or so. Low enough that a hike (or three...at that point, my controller had trouble on Heroic at times) back from the Atlas hospital a mile deep into Hollows is a big deal (hospital in Hollows helps there a bit, as do temp travel powers), and low enough so being spotted by that level 15 Ogre that you didn't see is a big deal (experience and spawn changes will help with that).

Wow, finally stumbled across these. Great work!!!
  11. Great thread.

My 8yo has "played" on and off for oh, probably over two years now. He's come a long way with reading and typing, though he still could have a better handle on the gameplay (and he's been playing a MM, which doesn't seem like the easiest juggling act). But he's getting there. I started a second account to team with him last year, but unfortunately our laptop is underpowered, and not well suited for playing the game. I could see teaming a lot more whenever we get a second desktop. I still don't let him team, but I could revisit that now that his communication skills are better.

My daughter (5) likes to make toons sometimes too, and where my son is pretty standard with his designs/names (you can tell when the default face changed by looking at his list of characters, and they are all <power> <his name&gt, my daughter...wow, she's out there. Some really unique combos.

the confetti throwing bad guys and good guys, (Thank you Rip Taylor, can you now get out of my brain!)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok...the idea of making a Rip Tayloresque toon might actually sway me to part with $10 after all.
  13. These are nice costumes, but I don't have any concepts using them, so I can't see buying them in the immediate future (and I don't RP, so no appeal on the emotes).

The back of the tux reminds me of one of the martial arts robes. Don't know if that's been mentioned, but maybe it uses the same physics.
  14. Someone needs to alert them to red tomax's site, they didn't list it among the fan sites.
  15. When hovering over enhancements stored in the enhancement table, I would like to see stats on that enhancement (% increases, other enhancements in the set, set bonuses, etc), just as you would if it were in your tray or on the market.

Well, I'm glad the Friends list option will be off by default, at least. I can't think of any good reason to share that with the world. The rest I'm less worried about, although I still don't see the compelling need to make all this data publicly available.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shared with the world, maybe not.

But if there was a view that brought up your toons by default (say you logged into it like you might at plaync, and your toons were arranged by account/server), with links to friends' toons based off your in-game list, might be nice. Same with SG members.
  17. I would love to see info on my toons online, and the more the better.

I probably had the least fun playing a safeguard mission today. As an empath that does not attack, I have stealth and superspeed. Between the long aggro range attacking through stealth, and tanks not being able to hold aggro very well, this was just rediculous. It's actually the closest I have been to quitting the game. Funny how some little things can make the mission just outright horrible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

(yeah, I know I'm responding to a 3 month old post)

I took my Emp/Psi into one of these, where she was sidekicked with some mid-high level 30's (she was level 30 at the time). I must have died at least six times in the mission. I would die during combat, where Arachnos AoE's would get me (this was the TI mission). I'd die on my way to side missions, where the team would fly/jump/run off and I'd have to port, but didn't do so highly enough to not attract attention (despite being sk'd, these were still purple to me, and easily did me in). This was even worse trying to get back from the hospital - I had no coverage, and often was out of SK range. Heck, near the end of the mission I died and found that the hospital area had been completely overrun by Tsoo, and I promptly died again!

Really, the only benefits to doing these seem to be the badges and the temp powers. I can see trying them selectively (like on a low-level toon of mine who may be built w/o travel powers, so the temp travel powers would be handy), but not on a regular basis.

Sorry if this has been posted already, didn't take the time to read all 30 pages......

On all my female toons, I no longer have the COH (happy) faces but I only have the COV (evil) faces. One of the things that I like was that I could have evil faces for my villains and non-evil faces for my heroes. Now however I get one choice, pissed-off-evil looking faces. Is this intentional or is this a bug? Any help would be most appreciated as I can't even put a hat on any of my existing toons or take a hat off for fear of losing thier face.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just to confirm (or reconfirm, faces seem to have been brought up by a few), I seem to have the same problem.

    Sexy. Jay. Dig it.
