  1. What level are you? After 32, the Prot Bots will drain their endurance and basically stop fighting, healing, etc. while they regen a little bit back. This happens mostly on long fights.
  2. Yes, to be a good healer, I think /Pain is required. Getting to 50 as soon as possible: use the AE.

Besides Robotics and Thugs, I think Mercs also works well as a hands-off primary.
  3. Yeah, it's a pain. I got my Bots/FF to 50 before they did the AoE thing for Pet Buffs. Think of that: 24 buffs at the start of every mish, plus my toggles, solo.

You get used to it. Bubbling a whole team ain't such a big deal for me any more, I can tell ya.

    Ninjas updated?

    [ QUOTE ]
Suddenly my Ninjas are meleeing things without me going through annoying work arounds to get them up close to the enemy. Did this happen with I15? I'm suddenly slaughtering things much faster as President Evil.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would have thought this happened a while back, when the Bruiser got fixed too, and other AI got tweaked, but maybe not.

When was the last time you played your Ninjas?
  5. I was just doing a mish on my Dark/Pain, and the mish had a rescuable pet that fights. I can tell you that Pain Bringer on a pet is pretty awesome.

Lower levels on /Pain is lots of healing. Later you get World of Pain, Anguishing Cry, etc. You'll have other tricks by the time you get to 32.

Don't forget that most MMs on a team use their secondary more. It's good to have self sufficient pets, so you can concentrate on keeping the other pets (teammates) upright.

    Undead robots???

    [/ QUOTE ]

Undead, with laser bolts coming out of their eyes.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Why would you be taking the attacks? The bots are your attacks. The only thing I can see taking is the photon grenade to stack stuns with your protector bots.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At low levels, I think taking the first two personal attacks is a good idea. They add to damage, and also give you personally a ranged attack, something Traps doesn't have.

Later, probably around level 24, you can use your second build to remove the personal attacks and add two more powers. I'll usually add my travel powers at that point.

    [ QUOTE ]
Trip Mine is skippable, and so is repair. The recharge is not worth it, as Aid Other does the job twice as well as repair.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aid Other also works one both teammates and pets. Repair only works on your pet. One Recharge and one Heal in Aid Other usually does it for me until very late levels.

I'm a level 50 bots/FF and I've never used Repair, only Aid Other.
  8. I would think that Traps would be a good match for a melee set. Run in with pets, toe bomb, watch everything die.

I've never tried it though so someone with direct experience might have other things to say.
  9. I find it boring and repetitive on Red-side to do newspaper mishes before I get contacts for arcs. There's no merits to newspaper mishes, so I'm missing out that way, and it doesn't really form a "story" either, in the way that mission arcs do.

If you are concerned about new players doing bank mishes for the reward (and the jet packs are a cool reward), then I'd just make it so that after you get your 6 month vet reward that you can get a contact right away.

Desired behavior: The first time I contact my broker in a new zone, I should be given the option of selecting one contact with mission arcs. This should work exactly like the "new contact" window I see now on completion of a bank mish. I should also get the spiel about doing missions from the newspaper. The exact order this happens (spiel first, then new contact, or vice-versa) is unimportant.

    My build

Well, I very much doubt you need Tough and Weave.

Fearsome Stare must not be delayed. Neither should Tar Patch or Darkest Night, and Howling Twilight is pretty good too.

If you can, delay getting your travel powers, and use the temp. travel powers. I do this all the time now, and two extra powers before 20 is a good thing.

Stamina I'm guessing is required for /Dark, although you might try slotting for EndRedux and see how it goes.

Your pets are NOT skippable. They are the "must take" powers for a MM.

    Something like:
    1. Call Thugs, Twilight Grasp
    2. Tar Patch
    4. Dual Wield
    6. Equip Thugs
    8. Darkest Night
    10. Empty Clips
    12. Enforcer
    14. Howling Twilight
    16. Swift
    18. Fearsome Stare
    20. Hurdle
    22. Stamina
    24. Air Sup/Hover
    26. Brusier
    28. Fly
    30. Gang War <-- would really like to take this much earlier also
    32 Upgrade
    35.
    38 Fluffy
    41
    44
    47
    49

Hmmm, that is really tight. My Thugs is Traps, and I don't need Stamina, which is a big help. You really might try to slot as much EndRedux as you can, and see if you can live with out Stamina. Those three power picks are just killing my build here.

You don't really need the pistols, but I took mine because they look cool, so I left them in.

    Good luck.

    sadness

    [ QUOTE ]
I'll admit, my Tanker(SD/WM) didn't have anything but the first attack and Taunt for a long time(35 levels, to be exact). Mainly because Shield Defense called for me to take everything in the set Defense-wise, along with Tough and Weave, but also because my AoEs were later level.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Stuff like this is what I use my 2nd build for. Low-level and solo builds get more early attack and sacrifice some defense. Then once I get to the right level I choose my second build and redo it for the "best" powers and higher level attacks. This also gives me an "old" build to switch back to if I Exp or Malf with someone much lower level.

    Just my 2 Inf.
  12. I think Merits are a little busted. I only get Merits if the regular mission arc I'm running is mine. If it's someone else's arc, then I get no merits. This seems a bit unfair and to me it discourages casual teaming, since only one person on a pug can get merits for an arc.

I'd suggest you find a way to give Merits to everyone on the team.

My idea is to keep a track of all missions that might reward Merits, excluding ones that all team members will get merits for or ones that no one will get merits for. So TF/SF are out, as are newspaper/radio mishes. When you do a set number of these missions, you get one Merit.

This way you can still slowly gain Merits just by helping other people with their missions. I'm not sure how many missions you should do for one Merit. I think somewhere around 5 to 10 would be about right.
  13. 18 is tough on any MM, doubly so for Bots/FF. I teamed a lot and got mine to 32, it was all good from there.
  14. I copied a toon over from Virtue about 2 hours ago (a bit less, actually). Worked great.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
For those still with us (all of you who haven't already canceled your accounts due to impending nerfs related to your choice of power colors)...

    [blink]THIS WHOLE THREAD IS A JOKE[/blink]

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Devs nerfed our joke.
  16. The animation of being hit by Arachnos Soldier Heavy Burst goes on too long. My own animation is fine. But the animation of my targets being pelted by bullets lasts about twice as long as the animation of me firing, or the orange number over the heads of my targets. This means I can run up and punch my target after the Heavy Burst, and the being pelted by bullets animation is still running. This doesn't hurt any game play, but it looks a bit odd.

P.S. I bugged this and the one above on test, so expect duplicates.
  17. My Arachnos soldier Rest animation doesn't play if my gun is drawn. The Rest animation plays just fine if I have no weapon drawn. But if I draw my weapon first, I never see the Rest animation through the whole time it is active.

This happens on both live and test.
  18. Right. The AI seems to "age out" or clear the aggro periodically. Just like Mobs will stop attacking you if you leave them alone, your pets will stop attacking if they don't get hit once in a while.

One thing, Bots/FF can be killed, especially if you lose LOS to your pets. Fighting +6 Bosses in a mish today, I had all my pets jump off a high ledge in pursuit of one Mob in one of those CoT Oranbega. That did kill me the very next hit I took.

Other than that one incident trying to fight up high on a narrow bridge, everything was quite smooth.
  19. This comes up about every three to six months here on the MM boards. Everyone would love customization. However there are some technical reasons why we don't have it.

The most important is that BaBs would cry. According to him, each new MM minion set takes a custom set of animations to wield their appropriate weapons. It takes as much work just to add one new MM minion set as it does to animate a whole new powerset for any other AT.

So what is Paragon Studios going to do? Just give one existing AT set a new look? Or give everyone a chance to play a whole new power set for an AT? It's a bummer but the ROI is clearly with the latter.

Positron just (apparently) announced power customization for Issue 16. MMs may get tintable minions. I wouldn't hope for full AE critter style customization, but I'd be overjoyed if it showed up.

    On the other hand....

I teamed with a new player today. I was starting a new Bane on Justice because I've never really played a Bane. It was just the two of us (no one else offered to join). This player had no vet badges and said he wasn't sure where Port Oaks was when I asked him if he wanted to go there.

So I showed him and we set off the get our Jet Packs. He stuck to my butt like glue the whole time I was leading, never once aggro'd anything prematurely, made good use of his powers, and was intelligent and articulate in the chat channel.

We ran all all three paper mishes and the bank mish in record time. This was the easiest time I've ever had getting a Jet Pack for a new toon, regardless of the number of vet badges on a player.

I hope that guy sticks around.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I'm at 48, I have yet to see my ProBots bottom out end, they might get to 25%, but never down all the way.

Maybe it's my bubbles and very quick finger on the tilde (aid other).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Starting around level 38 I noticed my Prot Bots running out of End completely in heavy fighting. I'm Bots/FF too so I don't think the shields are the difference. I'm not sure why this would be different between you and me, but if it works for you then no worries. I prefer to slot at least one EndRedux however.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
In reality, Tier 2-3 only need one Acc. Especially with Tactics.

    Probots: 1acc/3dam/2def

    Stuff is lovely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is what I do, at leas until 32 and End REdux is needed. It's also a matter of taste if you really want 1 or 2 Acc in there, either works, esp as noted with Tactics running.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
[*] List primary and secondary powersets in the team search window and supergroup window.[*] Add a "Looking for members" option to the search interface for team leaders.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd like to see the Search Window also list team size, so you can tell if someone is on a team that could be combined with yours.

And I'd like to see a better way of telling if someone is on a team or not ("team size" would do it: "team size 1" means not on a team.) The current scheme of using font color to indicate teams is too hard to use.

Yes, the "origin" column can go away.

    Good stuff below, qfe:

[ QUOTE ][*] Group salvage in storage bins by type and sort alphabetically within the types.[*] Sort badges alphabetically in the badge window, or at least badges that have no other logical order. (Defeats, gladiators, etc.)
[*] Have the installer open web links in a system's default browser instead of mandating IE.
[*] Add an npc_stuck command that runs the /stuck code on spawned NPCs in an instanced mission. If you have to, limit its use to every ten minutes. Or hour. I don't care, but we really need it.[*] Allow us to gift items in the PlayNC store to other people. They'd make great prizes for contests and will earn you more money. I've also known people quit the game because of financial difficulties that I'd be more than willing to pay a month or two for, but that I don't particularly want to exchange personal information with.[*] At the very least, give us the option to get a serial code instead of applying to my account.
[*] Add an option to autopay the base rent instead of having the base go dark. In fact, consider making this the default. No matter how stupid your SG leader is, the only time your supergroup base would go dark is if you literally don't have enough prestige in the bank.[*] Allow more than one person to use base crafting tables at the same time.[*] Allow coalition members to use a base's crafting tables, Ouroboros pillar, and storage vault.

    [/ QUOTE ]
[*] Add the ability to quit to the login screen using the quit slash command.

    /logout ?
[*] Suppress powers in auction houses.

And Black Market, but only in Cap.
[*] Allow the team leader to kick offline task force members.

    Works for me.
