There's a small guild site that is running a poll about online MMORPG and geek stuff. They have an entry for City of Heroes! It's under "Most Passionate Fanbase."
We don't want to loose *that* poll, do we? You all know what to do.

BTW, I asked their site folk, and they replied that CoH did indeed stand for City of Heroes, not Company of Heroes.
Quote:The most passionate fanbase entry is City of Heroes; I will talk to our developers about making it a little clearer when I get back to the office on Monday. I'm sorry about that!

So no worries there.
There's other entries. I didn't vote for most of them, honestly, as I had no opinion. I did vote for Yahtzee though. If you don't visit the Zero Punctuation site, search it, find it, and go there. Funny stuff. -
Yeah, and then there's bodyguard mode, which Illusion/ doesn't get.
I'm sure Illusion is effective it's just that Illusion and Masterminds are pretty different in a lot of ways. Bots/FF almost unkillable, Bots/Dark pretty sick too. But it's hard to make up for having literally an unkillable pet, and MMs often don't really "get going" until late, after the final pet upgrade. So I feel it's really down to personal preference and play style. -
And I just tried to log in to check if my billing had cleared up and it doesn't recognize the username or email address that I've been using on my master account for something like 5 years.
*sigh*
I don't have time to deal with this now. Maybe latter I'll check it again and call support if it's not working still. -
Quote:I'm guessing there may be a delay for processing when you first go back onto VIP (trying to remember if there was when I did, but it was a while ago now).
If you haven't seen your points in a week, I'd contact Support.
I've been subscribed continuously for a long time and always got my points and reward token at the end of the month, instead of the beginning when my billing cycle began.
I think support can change that, but by default I'd expect them to get you on the 28th or so when then get around to it. I'm not super happy with being a customer of NC Soft, but I think we have to recognize too that CoH doesn't bring in anywhere near the revenue that Lineage or Aion do. And yet NC Soft has been investing pretty heavily in Paragon Studios. So I think it kinda balances out in the long run. -

Quote:Ideally, that's a great idea. I'll look into seeing if that's something we can do that won't require monopolizing my staffs entire day.
We will do what we can with the manpower and resources we have available.
Speaking of resources: would it be possible to publish a code that works for any number of people and then say manually enable it and disable it?
Then you could say "Everyone who grabs a code in the next hour gets a goodie." And your whole staff isn't monopolized, just one person twice in a one hour period. Add on whatever preconditions you can reasonably service. Retweet us, fill out a questionnaire, link us, like us, wash Zwill's car, etc.
Just kinda guessing here but that sounds like something that might be available without having to ask engineering (or a third party). -
I still need triple threat so I'll be there too.

Right, we already had this out about a month ago. It *is* confusing but pretty comprehensible once you figure it out. The 400% that turns blue in Combat Attributes is your cap, but the number it displays is global bonuses only. It doesn't show the enhancements for each power, because each power is slotted differently.
So, your "damage soft-cap" is typically about 95% less that the number shown, because you also have to figure in the approximately 95% bonus that a fully slotted and enhanced power has. If you are using Musculature Alpha, then you have around 125% in each power, so your "damage soft-cap" is about 125% less instead of 95% less.
Put another way, good damage slotting makes it easier to reach the cap.
TL,DR: your damage soft-cap is about 95% less than the number you see in Combat Attributes. If you actually hit the cap shown, you are wasting bonuses; aim for about 95% less than that number. -
I had a mental image of about 100 super heroes in Atlas Park doing that song and dance number.
Hint: Sound of Music emotes. -
I need these as well, I'll plan to be there too.

Quote:Remember you get 400 points *each month*, so you can save up if you want.
This. Save your points until you can get something you really want. I think the flight powers (Rocket Board, Flying Carpet) are really useful, but you may have other ideas. New power sets and costumes tend to be the most fun.
You could save your points too for when you go back to Premium. You don't loose them. -
Well, if the nuke isn't a pet, you should get the listed bonus. OTOH, if the nuke IS a pet, better double check the wiki or City of Data.

Quote:For masterminds, I slot them like attack powers: accuracy and damage.Hi all,
Does anyone have some general tips and guidelines for how to slot and enhance pet powers?
Any more than that, and you'd have to look at the individual powers of the pet. Specificly look at them in game and note their values. Are they worth enhancing? Balance any IO with the loss of an accuracy or damage one.
Protector Bots - Add one or two Def
Litch - Should be slotted for holds/debuf I believe.
etc.
Your specific list, I'm not sure. Crab spiders generally go for recharge to have pets up all the time. Carrion Creepers I think are basically damage. Photon Seekers, what do they do? Debuff and damage? Sounds like an attack power. Maybe recharge to have them up more often. etc.
I don't use specific IO sets myself, just the occasional pet aura (+Res). Just use whatever helps your build in general (recharge, etc.) -
Quote:I'll double check, but I'm sure I need about 5 arson side missions on my badger. I will check and look for other stuff I might need, but I think I have all of the exploration badges.I'm more than happy to polish off the evening with a number of Peregrine Island runs focused on Blowin' Stuff Up and smashing cars, if there's interest. Heck, those ones, you can just send me a tell in game (@Dark Epitaph) and I'll happily assist.
Ditto on "Thanks very very much for doing this." Big help for lots of folks. -
Thanks all. I did decide to go with Floodgates. I figured that could be his "human code name" or something. And I did resist the urge to tint the powers yellow or brown.
Hopefully there'll be none of that on live.
Thanks again! -

I need some of the badges for Mayhem sides on my main badger. Any interest in getting those too?

Hi champs, I have two names reserved on Champion for a new Water Blast character. (Probably a WB/Kin corruptor, I've never stuck with a Kin.)
1. Floodgates
2. Tidal Vortex
Anyone want to help me pick one name? I was kind of leaning towards Tidal Vortex, but now I'm more indecisive and could go with either. Which ones seems better/cooler/more interesting to you?
I don't have much of a concept for this character, other than "WB/Kin corruptor." I think he'll probably be a native of some underwater civilization like Atlantis, but I haven't thought out anything detailed yet. Blue skin, water themed costume... that's about all I got. I will probably not color the WB much, I think it looks great as-is. -
Power pools are available at level four, and you can take as many as four different pools at anytime after that. (Note, pools not powers. You can take as many powers from those four pools as you like.)
You can right now take Speed (for Superspeed) or Jumping (for Combat Jumping and Super Jumping) and any three other pools besides Concealment that you want. You can take them up to level 50 too, if you want to take one last power to round a character out.
What pool powers are you thinking of taking? -
My guess is it's the latter. The seller is hoping that if a customer sees "used only once" they won't realize the code has been used and the disc is only useful as a coffee coaster.
However if you can find unopened and new boxes for $5 or so, those are a very good deal and will add a month of game time each. Note you can use each type of box once, so once you buy the Going Rogue edition, for example, you can't buy another and get another month, because you've already used a code for that particular product. -
Quote:the only way to get it cheaper than $15 is if it ever goes on sale
And they do have sales. Usually around Christmas time, the starter kit will be on sale for 99 cents. So if you are thinking of trying VIP and want to save money, there's a cheap way to join as VIP and see what it does for you. -
Right, there's no "trial" any more, the whole game is free, levels 1 through 50, and you can play as long as you want.
If you do like it and stay, you'll probably want to get some goodies from the store. Anything you buy is permanent (well, except things that are obviously consumable or say "one time" on them), so you can keep what you get and still play for free.
VIP is a good deal, if you do stick around, but if you'd rather just play with a few unlocks from the store, there's quite a few folks who do the same thing. -
Quote:Just a quick question, Ive been gone a while, Is Perma still 90 haste + hasten? have anything for doms changed or been nerfed? thanksQuote:Perma dom requires 123%, or 53% after Hasten.
Perma hasten requires 275%, or 110% after enhancing it (~95%) and its own 70% buff.
I have a Fortunata with near perma-hasten, with about 3-5 seconds when Hasten isn't up, but still it's effectively perma. I have less than 110% global recharge though, about 98% iirc, so the OP may not be wrong in that 90% is "perma enough" for what he's looking at.
Just trying to make sense of all the numbers being tossed about here, I think it's the 110% vs 90% one the OP is interested in, and 90% looks like it's going to be very close and probably good enough.
