  1. The best part of Paragon wiki for you right now is probably the list of Issues.

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Issues

That gives you a blow by blow description of each issue and what it updated.

Basically assuming you were here for all of 2007, new stuff includes: Cimerora is a new zone where you go back in time to fight Romans and Nazis (return of the 5th Column), power customization, Architect Entertainment (player made content), power proliferation (a lot of sets are now accessible by more ATs), a lot of new temp powers, missions, tips, Going Rogue (side switching), Praetoria and all the incarnate stuff.

I'm not opposed to starting a new toon, but I'd probably only do it for a tank, brute or scrapper.

VEATs got added in 2008--Villains now have their very own epic archetype, and they're pretty cool. Plus, the requirements have been reduced for all EATs from a level 50 to a level 20, so all you have to do is log-in the 39 Mastermind and you have access to essentially four new ATs-- Night Widow, Fortunata, Crab Spider and Bane Spider.

I'd also consider starting something new, like maybe a Dom or a Corruptor with one of the new power sets and play that trough Praetoria. There's some darn nice stuff in those new zones.

On Champion and the open Beta Server, I've noticed folks forming Leagues in Pocket D rather than RWZ. Since Pocket D is pretty much a dead zone otherwise, this means you're not competing with a mother ship raid or something while trying to get your league together.

    LFG system....

This is a great idea, actually.

    1. On log-in, the system should check for Leagues/Queue/anything else which might be "outstanding" and offer a dialog box with a resolution (e.g. "Rejoin Last Event").

    2. The League interface should be modified so that if you are able to rejoin a league, it says "Rejoin Last Event" instead of "Not in League."

    Yup, that's how it works.

I went Nerve (the Accuracy one). It boosts both my pets Accuracy and the Def in my bubbles and the Protector Bots bubbles too.

Your Musculature will boost all your Bots damage and I think the -ToHit in the seeker drones (if they have it, didn't check).
  5. As of the patch this morning (4/7) I have a new bug: All sound appears to have a lot of popping. It pops so much it sounds like static. About 10 pops per second on average, I'd guess.

It's more noticeable with long playing sound like music, but most sound and sound effects in game seem to have it. Short sounds that are noisy anyway (like gunfire) it isn't too noticeable but most everything else it's very noticeable.

To double check drivers and hardware, I'm playing iTunes right now (out of game, of course) and there's no issues.

    Short System specs:

Fujitsu Lifebook (Laptop) A series, Windows 7 64 bit, 4 G bytes installed memory, Intel Core i5 M460 2.53 GHz (dual core).

The sound is the built-in on-board sound. Drivers are listed as ATI High Definition Audio Device and Realtek High Definition Audio Device.
  6. 3. Mastermind Assault Bot has a chance for -regen.

    4. Widow Poison Dart and Dart Burst both have -regen.
  7. Suggestions!

As previously stated, there are NO league slash commands currently in game.
  8. One improvement that would be nice would be to see how many people are in each queue.

    Like:

    BAF - 3 in queue
    Lambda - 6 in queue
    General - 0 in queue

That would let players if numbers are increasing over time, decreasing over time, or just not changing. So the can know what to expect rather than looking at some abstract "4 minutes in queue" which seems a haphazard guess by the system at best.
  9. You might want to select people by League team too.

    "/league_select 2 4" would select the 4th person on the 2nd team.

/league_select 1 1 would always select the league leader
/league_select 3 1 would always select the leader of team #3

/league_select Bargle would select the first person it found on your league with "bargle" in their name

/league_select_ar TANK would select a tank at random from your league
/league_select_ar CONT would select a controller at random from your league. Etc.

/leauge_team_ar 1 TANK would select a tank at random from team 1. Etc.

Next and previous are great ideas too.

I got to be league leader once in a random PUG Turnstile BAF, so I started clicking on stuff to see what it did.

The first button I clicked on was "disband league." With no confirm dialog. Oh well.

Are you sure it's the box? I used to run on a 5 year old laptop and could play at "Performance" (one above minimum). After it died, I got a new laptop and now I can easily play in "Quality" (one below Ultra) and it's got one of those "mobility" GPUs.

If you've got a technical issue, try the Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs forum. I guess if your box really just blows, you might not have any resolution, but anything made in the last 10 years ought to play OK at minimum.

    What has changed?
A fair amount of stuff. Several new TFs, some QoL stuff, I think most of the power proliferation, power customization, not to mention Going Rogue with the new Praetorian content and side switching (where Heroes can become villains and go to Rogues Isles and vice-versa).

Check out this list of issues, it might help you.

What are the powerhouse character set ups?
I think all of the sets are considered "good," regardless. The Flavor-of-the-Month builds float around but there haven't been any huge changes. Just play what you like and it'll be fine.

Did the level cap change (I read something somewhere that confused me about that)? What do I need to know to get back to my non-n00b status?
Going Rogue introduced Incarnates which can boost you to effectively 51. See the dude Ramiel in Ouroboros. Otherwise, check that list of Issues above, it is a doozy but you need to at least take a look to know more.

    Thanks!
The new way is to just start your own personal SG & base (they are much cheaper now) and join a global server channel (they have around 2000 members, much more than any SG). You can of course join a SG if you like, I'm just pointing out a second option.

Have fun, and post again if you get some specific questions.

I believe villains also get a free Notice out of their mish, which in my opinion is a very fair trade off.

Thanks for posting that, I hadn't through seriously of using HamiO's but you've given me some ideas.

I have a purple set only because I got one as a drop, and purchasing the other 4 wasn't actually too expensive. (Not too expensive for my level 50. There's no way at level 44 my Fort has that kind of cash.) Anyway one set will probably be enough for me.

Hmm, this is a point. OK, here's a ranged, control-heavy build that suits my style. Any pointers? I'd like to re-build the Fort this evening at the latest so I don't miss a freespec.

  16. I pulled one slot from Mental Blast and moved it to Follow Up. I'm now at 155% recharge, with Hasten.

    1. Mind Link is now perma (with Hasten) and in fact has about 4 seconds of overlap.

    2. Hasten is not perma. If I calculated correctly it has 14.5 seconds of down time. Not too bad though.

    3. Still no use of the Leadership pool, and I'm still soft capped.

Speaking of the Leadership pool and End use, what do folks think of the various slottings for Health and Stamina in this thread? Which one is best?

I copied your slotting for Dominate and now I'm at 150% Recharge, and I'm still soft capped. (I didn't need the extra +Ranged Def in Dominate's Thunderstrike to stay soft-capped). And I'm not running the Leadership pool, so I have somewhat lower End usage.

If I could find one more slot somewhere, I could get 155% Recharge by adding a slot to Follow Up. Hmm.

See above. I have more -Recharge than the build you posted. (I have 142% recharge vs. the 137% recharge in your build, with the same powers enabled).

And I'm soft-capped. And I have a boat-load of Accuracy. All set for a Musculature, if the End use doesn't get me first.

Nevertheless you have some great ideas. Your slotting for Mind Link I especially like, it might save me a slot. I'll have to think about this later when I have some more time. Thanks for the input!
  20. Hey all, here's a level 50 build I'm planning out for my Fort (who is currently level 44). If you haven't heard, we'll get free respecs for i20 and the aniversary event, so I'm going to make some adjustments to my build now to get ready.

    Any comments are greatly appreciated.

  22. You can also just type "Invention: Range" into the search box and hit return, the recipes will be found. All of the common IOs are named "Invention: <Type>".

No, that was not a C++ template.
  23. Nothing wrong with a VG. But the new way is to just jump on one or more global channels.

    BMT of Champion
    Champion United
    Champion Unleashed
    BMT Redside

The first two tend to be full. The third I don't know about but was recommended here recently. The last is for villains. It tends to be low population but there's over lap with the other channels that will help get teams.
  24. Well, asking here is the first step.

Your best bet are the global channels. Unfortunately those are full right now, so you're at a bit of a disadvantage.

The other possibility is to create a new toon in Atlas Park and use /broadcast to ask about getting some friends and help in Praetoria. Are you on a trial account? If so you can't use /broadcast and this won't work, but otherwise it's something you can try.

As far as guilds go, they're called Supergrops or Villain Groups. I personally just use solo S/V groups just for myself to get some base storage, so I can't really help on that front. You can use my global though. I have a few low level toons that can make it to Praetoria, so I could level with you.

@gameboy1234. Send me a tell if you see me online.

    I agree with this 100%.

There's how to Lead, and there's how to Follow.

Usually the biggest problems for me happen on council maps. Always 2 or 3 players are stuck or just not quite up to where the group is. I stop and wait for them. At this point some impatient person, usually a Controller with an AOE immobilize, decides that they want to tank the spawn.

Look folks, if you open up on it, you'd better be able to tank it. There's a thread in the scrapper forums titled "You are under no obligation to save me." And I'm not. You aggro'd it, you tank it. I'm waiting for the rest of the team, and if you don't like that, please leave.

Sorry for being cranky here but that's how I feel.
