Quote:This situation also brings a good argument for the devs to give us a few more alternate builds per character, for people who may go from VIP to Premium and back frequently.
Yeah because it's actually a good idea for the devs to give away everything for free.
Look right now if you stop paying your subscription, you don't get to play at all. With i21, if you stop paying, you can still log in and use your second build for SOs. FOR FREE.
Why should we really get more than that? -
Quote:People who start up new accounts but opt not to pay are the standard tier. They're, in many ways, even more limited than the old trial accounts were. But, at least you're allowed to play for free.
In some ways the Free accounts are a lot less limited though. You can now play all levels, 1 - 50, and almost all of the "legacy" content. You have access to some of the new content too, esp the new content they just added in Atlas Park and Mercy (new level 1-10 content, yay!).
It's still a tad unclear to me where the line between legacy and new is going to be drawn. It seems that the low level content will be given away, whereas the higher level content (like the new First Ward zone) is going to require a subscription or a specific purchase. -
You could do a pretty decent "master mind" with a Crab Spider and lots of recharge. They get like 5 pets (all are those mechanical spider things you see Arachnos using sometimes).
Level a villain to 20 to unlock the Villain Epics, start a Soldier, respec him to a Crab at level 24. I think the final group of spiders show up around level 32. Slot like the bejeesus for recharge. -
Quote:I've been having the same problem. For me, what usually works is to right click on the launcher running in my system tray
Didn't read the whole thread but I have my launcher configured to exit after launching the game. So no problems with stuff running in the system tray. I have no background download either, but that's a small price to pay for stability. -
Or you can just re-roll your character and start them in Rogues Isles. Only the first character you make is constrained to Praetoria. I'd make and play at least one Praetorian eventually though. It's new, better content and in general there's more folks playing there right now too.

In the tutorial? Yes, at least one.

Quote:Everyone has base Sta now at 25%, so adding three slots only gets you 23.75% more. 15% is nearly as good.
I have to retract this.
Stamina is 25% and my recovery 3 slotted is 48.75% on the money. That's with a total of 95% enhancement.
But base recovery is 1.67%, so 95% of that is 0.81%, which normally gives 0.81 Endurance per second. That's the value I should have been comparing to, since that's where the +Recovery bonus is applied.
So basically Ironblade is correct. +15% bonus is not really close to what you get with Stamina.
If you want to see your own numbers, open your Combat Attributes and look under Base and then Recovery Rate. That'll show you what your own current status is. Note that the same display also shows you what your endurance consumption is, due to toggles, so you can fairly easily gauge how much more, if any, End you might need to get. -
Is it 25%? I thought it was 20%. Anyway my comment says that 15% is almost like adding 3 slots. 48.75% is probably a better "three slotted" number for Stamina then.
48.75% - 25% = 23.75%
15% ~= 23.75%.
Not really as impressive if Sta base is 25% instead of 20%, but still you can see you're adding something on the order of adding three slots. Everyone has base Sta now at 25%, so adding three slots only gets you 23.75% more. 15% is nearly as good. -
Quote:Yeah I know its my fault for having the end problems, but Im sure Im not the only one out there. It just seems like such a big deal unless you know what you are doing to counteract it. Thanks all.
No, it's not your fault, and yes it's pretty hard to figure out on your own. I was a real dunderhead when I first started playing. Guides on the forums and the folks here straightened me out. It's something we all go through.
Quote:start looking for IOs.
There are several healing IOs that give regen + recovery and if they are placed in stamina they give this all the time. Many other IOs 2x bonuses are like 1%,1.5% & 2% recovery, depends on your powers. you want 3x end-mods in your endurance.
This. Check out that build I posted earlier. It is, at least, a starting point. It give you +15% Recovery, which is almost like 3 slotting Stamina again. (*)
Get Mids, learn to use it (it's a bit funky but the Help menu is good). Look at prices on the Market. Do some Tips, sell one expensive IO (usually Luck of the Gambler: Def/+Recharge). Spend the money on some cheap IOs. Those IOs will help you a lot more than you realize, I think.
(*) Do not 6 slot Stamina. After three slots of the same type of Enhancement, the rest do nothing. That's why IOs are so important, they (and a few other things) are the only way to boost you past the 3 slot rule.
Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask for help again if you need to. What server do you play on, btw? -
Yes, I'd guess end of September, unless further hiccups occur. Positron just recently mentioned that they had hoped to have a release date announcement at PAX last weekend, but the announcement has been delayed. So expect to hear about it well in advance.
-
Quote:Well I havent 3 slotted Stamina yet, I have one EndMod in there so far. I have one acc in each melee attack, no dmg as theres no room with all the endrecs already.
So what would be best? 1 acc, 1 dmg 2 endrecs? (for melee)
To Dare-j78: Did you get this resolved? How is your build working now? -
Here's one idea. Note the additional 25% accuracy and 15.5% recovery from set bonuses.

Quote:This. At level 32, I don't think you should slot two EndRedux in any power. You need the other aspects of those powers more (defense, resistance, damage, accuracy).Agreed with everyone else that you really shouldn't need that much End Red, generally one per click power will do for most toons
Repeating: only one EndRedux per power, period. The rest should be Acc/Dam, with an emphasis on Dam.
At level 32, you can slot level 35 IOs. This is a good time to look at set bonuses to shore up your character. Look at the cheaper IOs. +Accuracy is easy to get. One Acc is not really enough imo but with some decent bonuses you're golden.
Look at a couple of more expensive IOs. With Tips these are fairly easy to get. Put a Miracle unique in health. Get 3 Performance Shifter in Stamina. Look at the Performance Shifter proc for Stamina too (4 slots in Stamina is kinda extravagant but worth it once you have enough slots).
Etc. I'll try to do a quick Mids build for ya. -
Devs! Please! Make that darn player search window more intuitive!! Thanks!

I'm not sure how GR will work vis-a-vis VIP with Freedom.
I'd recommend trying all starting areas out, let your friends decide what they want. But the new Atlas Park is very shinny. Like very very shinny. However I did like Mr. Graves better than Twinshot. So far anyway -- I've only done the first arc for each. -
Quote:Due to the power sets, this game (unlike other mmo's I've played) has a broader team survivability factor.
This is a good observation and very true. You can get by with just about any combination, and as you mention folks don't play very carefully. What you describe is close to "steamrolling", which is to say engaging enemies as quickly to keep the pace up. It's very different from other MMOs where various pulling tactics exist.
As for brutes, they've been changed so they don't really need to fight constantly any more. Most brute players just jump in because they like it.
Also, you can make Awaken Inspirations by right clicking on an inspiration and selecting "combine 3 into... awaken". You need three of the same type to do this. So even on a team with no healers, or one where all healers die, you can normally self res everyone and be fighting again with little time lost. -
If you do out level contacts, you can hit almost any "regular" (non-hazard) zone and do the random radio missions from the detective there until you get some contacts in that zone.

Quote:There's nothing wrong with asking stuff like this on the Help channel. Of course, there's nothing wrong with asking here or reading the wiki pages either. But if you're in game and confused by something, a quick message on Help might be the best solution.Being a new player, I do not understand some common abreviations used on the open chat channels (I refer to the game specfic ones). Is there a place I can look these up? If not, can folks please post a few common ones here?
Quote:For team invites: It would be helpful to know recommended minimum lvl range (for powers), Hero (b)/Villian(r?)/Praetorian(g), and apx. time to finish assuming a full team.
A suggestion may be to add this info as standard shorthand in-game so folks (like me) can make logical choices on PUGs. If this already exists, I haven't seen it. -
-
Ah, ok, nm then.

I'm not sure a support ticket will help. Beta is entirely up to the developers, it's not a regular supported product, and customer support is unlikely to have any scripts or information to help you out.
Unless you were told to submit a ticket by like Zwill or Beastyle to address some issue, I think you're better of posting about the problem in the beta discussion forums.
