  1. This is not your Mother's MMO. Any AT can do (practically) anything in this game. Defenders can tank, Blasters can Control, for example.

The rule is, like the previous gentleman said, do what you like, stay alive, and have fun.

    Hola amigo!

Todos los ATs should do lo que necesitan para not die y have fun. Si los jugadores no estan having fun, ningun de los ATs estan doing their jobs.

    Adios!

I can't believe you wrote that word on the internets. Dirty, dirty girl. I am reporting this content for sheer salubriousness and existentialism. This forum community has gone to the Americans!
  5. Oh, snap! The Ocho just got Old School on us!

But seriously, there are things on that video that frighten me.

Not necessarily in a bad way.

Now, when can we have a "Surface Tension" slider?

    Talk to Jay, Ocho. Now.

QUIT with the readin', I said NOW!

You know, being #1/Best/First/Most/Uberest/The Alpha is really not necessary for EVERYONE. You CAN have them all. You just may not be able to have them all at the same time some other people do.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If they never stop adding new rewards, I cannot have them all. This is a simple fact. It shouldn't be hard to grasp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In that case, I guess you'll either have to make believe they don't exist, or you can drive yourself nuts.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
(from Eikochan) Actually, the fact that I will never get all the Veterans Rewards, that there will always be another reward out there that I'll want and will never get to makes the Veteran's Rewards completely ineffective as incentive. "Collect them all!" is a pretty enticing idea, but when collecting them all becomes impossible, it loses its appeal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, being #1/Best/First/Most/Uberest/The Alpha is really not necessary for EVERYONE. You CAN have them all. You just may not be able to have them all at the same time some other people do.

(Funny, I wonder what the reaction would be on the part of people who got the Vet rewards legitimately, if there were a new option where you could purchase the rewards... remember the upset that reducing the Rikti Monkeys defeat badge from 10000 to 1000 caused? I remember a bit of an uproar. And I suspect that your answer may be different if you were on the other side of that argument...)

It's unfortunate we live in a society where Having It Now is so ingrained and everpresent. It's a Game, people, it's just Not the kind of game where it is That Important to WIN. Looking forward to a reward is, you know, a THING.

*shrug* Color me disappointed, but they certainly aren't in any way game-changing. Just fun bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm mostly disappointed because I was hoping that vet rewards would eventually stop at some point. 5 years seemed the best place. As it is, there's no way I can ever catch up to get the new rewards. I've been around since release, but I had no way of knowing at the time that if I stayed subscribed I'd be able to get stuff.

Makes it worse when new stuff comes out and there are rewards I actually WANT, but I can't get, and will NEVER be able to catch up to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This statement makes absolutely no sense. You will ABSOLUTELY be able to get those rewards when you have -paid- to play the game for 63 and 66 months...just like all the rest of us have. Put in the money, put in the time and enjoy. Complaining you don't have something you haven't earned is not going to make the time go by any faster.

    [/ QUOTE ]

/agreed. it is a REWARD for the people that have PLAYED THE LONGEST. In case that doesn't sink in, let's put it a different way: Those who have PAID THE MOST.

That may sound 'elitist', or 'favoritist', or whatever, but they are rewards. To people that have actually done something that the Devs want to ENCOURAGE.

So basically rehashed content is all we can hope for... I'm sorry but thats the thinking that led to CoX being kept as a b-list mmo. This game is awesome and had the potential to be even more grand than what it became.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No. I think the point here is, making content specifically for only L50 characters is limiting and futile. Making content that is FLEXIBLE has always been the thing that allows CoX to maintain player interest beyond a 'select' few.

More options is not a bad thing. Creating content that excludes other players, and veteran players' alternate characters, IS bad.

Also, speaking of this game in the past tense is foolish. The game is young and growing.

The new zone will be the moon zone. Players will travel to the moon and fight exciting new moon based enemies, and perhaps a few old favorites, like the Wailers. The Wailers will sing a jaunty tune that goes something like this:

    "We're Wailers on the moon,
    Our arms are like harpoons,
    So let's get some souls,
    For us to control,
While we sing our wailing tune."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except No One Will Hear Them.

    Because they're in SPACE.

  12. LOVE IT.

The Anti-Farm lobby will have trouble with the Enhanced Difficulty Options, but Whaddayagonnado?
  13. #1. The Backgrounds are great. Especially Desdemona's.

#2. Looking forward to more information - very excited about a new expansion.

#0. Most importantly. Desdemona's trunk looks aok to me. But I believe this issue will require more study, and in particular, closer inspection. Nudge nudge, wink wink. Snap snap. Grin grin, wink wink, say no more? Know what I mean, know what I mean? Nudge nudge. Say no more.
  14. (And honestly, Iannis, it IS pretty sweet to have a purpled IO build. It took me quite a while to get one together. But the idea of artificially changing the way the markets work to 'fix' that for the people who 'want' them but aren't willing to do the 'work' is, well, greedy, plain and simple.)

For those who want to 'pay less' for those purples, just remember that when you get your first purple drop and receive 250M for it. Be sure to give what you consider the 'excess' away to the first character that walks by.

    Yaright. I thought so.
  15. Well, Like I and others have said elsewhere, if I see something I want, I go about getting it. If I want a Purple that costs 200M, I'll do what I need to to get it (within the 'rules'), depending on How Bad I Want It. If that means doing TFs over and over, killing lotsa enemies, if that means finding a Target Rich Environment and going to town, if that means "EEEbillll Marketeeringgg", I'll do it. And I don't have to Have It Nao, so I use my patience to my advantage.

    Heck,
    TFs for merits,
    Merits for High Price Enhancements,
    Enhancements for Inf,
    Inf for Purples.

    UUUUNPOSSSSSIBBLLLEEE!!!
  16. [ QUOTE ]

Ok, let's stop it there a sec and clear something up:

    "Ultra rare" items are fine.
Hysterical pricing of "ultra rare" items is not fine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

OK, I see, like others, that you STILL do not GET the idea of the market.

WHO decides how much to pay for an enhancement???

(I'll wait a minute while you actually think about what the answer to that question is.)

    OK, time's up.

The BUYER decides what he/she will pay. Scratch that, the buyer decides WHAT HE/SHE IS WILLING TO PAY.

Please, Please, PLEASE let that sink in for a few minutes.

If I am on a streetcorner, and on my table is a paper clip, with a tag attached that says "$1000", you'd probably look at it and walk right by.

So if you walked past, and another guy walks up, and gives me not just $1000, but $1500 for it, would you stop him because he shouldn't be allowed to do such a thing?

No one is forcing anyone to buy enhancements at any price.

HOW MANY TIMES MUST THIS BE EXPLAINED????

The huge swathes of recipes that aren't available on the market (especially Redside) concerns me more than the prices.

    [/ QUOTE ]

THIS I agree with. Hard to find some really important, but less than 'sexy' ones - I had trouble finding the Cloud Senses: Chance for NE Dmg proc, for example, at ANY level. Not sure how to address this problem in a non-shotgun way.

I think the chiller haircut is stupid...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I sit here in my Real Life chiller haircut...

    And cry.

  20. I find it funny when people whine about the prices. Of course, I find myself wishing I had a little more money too – I have a character I’d like to outfit with purples and LOTGs, but I can’t really afford it yet…

So I look at prices on Purple enhancements, and what do I do? I go out, and I run a few TFs, a few missions, and hope I get a drop, but if not, meh, I collect my influence, my merits, maybe cash ‘em in, maybe not, and go along with my bizness.

And I look at the crazy prices on salvage, and what do I do? I go out, run a few TFs, a few missions, hope to get a few sweet drops, sell what I get, or craft stuff with the salvage, and GO ALONG WITH MY BIZNESS.

I could sit in WW, or the BM, and cry moar, but that is less fun then running some tfs, getting some merits, and GETTING ALONG WITH MY BIZNESS.

Why is this SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND???

What I would say now would probably ban my post, so I will hold my tongue. But I think you all get my drift.
  21. No it was not Ronald McDonald. It was Robert McDougal. Because the former would be a violation of the rules, while the latter is just an homage to a venerable and familiar icon of American Culture.

Now, would you like some fryes with that shaik?
