    It will be a decent rental though I admit the FX alone are going to be awesome on the big screen. And I hate to burst anyone's testosterone bubble, but movies with that much ego rarely do well in theatre. despite being favorites.

    Now, fortunately for me, my fiance would prefer The Expendables to Eat, Pray, Love. I mean, seriously, that is definately a rental at best.
    Machete will disprove this assertion ONCE. AND. FOR. ALL.

    And thankfully, my wife also feels the same way about movies. YAY ME!
  2. To be technically correct, some of these are assonance.

    (hehe, I said assonance.)

    (Actually, I think they modified the definition of alliteration to include assonance.)

    (hehe, I said assonance again.)

    I > Team

    Since I'm bored, I'll weigh in.

    I suppose the 'soloer' might take a new POV: What if these were HIS FRIENDS he was playing with? If he was playing with friends, and they didn't like him doing what he was doing, would he just disregard them, or would he choose to delay that particular form of gratification (pause) until another time, perhaps when he was soloing?

    In the end (pause) the team leader gets to kick people if he wants. I think of that as somewhat extreme, but it is his right if he wants, just as it is the right of others to quit if they don't like the leader's policies. Golden Rule also helps. And I'm out.

    Finally!

    Grats Bill! It makes me sad you don't love Illusion - one of my favorite ATs.
  5. Archery/Cold Blaster. Then, Ill/Rad Controller. (Or Rad/Electric Defender.) Then, Archery/Mental blaster. Then, Stone/Stone tank.

  7. Nice ones, Steel. But I have to ask, is this referring to the Big Hami, the Mini Hami, or the baby Hami pet we're all going to get with GR? (I wish - there I go again, startin' trouble!)

    This is TOTALLY wrong.

    The EXACT OPPOSITE will occur.

    Supply will go UP, and prices will go DOWN.

    Then supply will go DOWN and prices will go UP.

    Then it will happen again.

    I can't believe you made this mistake. I thought better of you. Sheeeeesh.

    Oh, wait.

    Actually, that would be pretty sweet.

    Also, your your decidedly unusual phrases confuse and frighten me. I am not sure that I would qualify as a "bizzlenitch".

    Finally, YAY for Market Merge!

    Yeah, that was truly inspired. /e bow.
  14. (ex-post-facto) Congrats guys! Now, remember the secret to a good marriage:
    She ALWAYS wins EVERY argument.
    You may not want to admit this.
    You may not find this out until YEARS later.
    You may have posed a well structured and logically cogent argument.
    However,
    the sooner you come to terms with this simple truism,
    the more harmonious and amicable your union will be.

    I keed, I keed!

    That was the most colossally dangling preposition I have ever witnessed.

    Kudos to the new champion of the City of Grammatical Villains. I bow at the feet of greatness.

    Maybe an unintentional pun, but I dig
    I can't imagine it was unintentional - I missed it the first time, and my wife was watching it for the first time on DVR (I stopped about 50 minutes in to watch 24) and at that part, she laughed out loud. Watching it again, the timing seems unmistakeable - it seems he pauses just long enough for the laugh, like he realized the joke when he said it aloud.

    I haven't rewatched the whole thing again, but I did see that first bit - I was struck in particular by the impact of the music on the scene with Rose and Bernard - ignoring the music makes the scene almost boring; focusing on the music there makes Locke seem preternaturally threatening. If/when I rewatch the whole series, I expect that the music will be much more interesting...

    Wouldn't it be better to do Hurley and Sawyer? So Sawyer could bust out a sharp nickname every ep? (It went from 'mean' to 'buddy' at some point)

Then they had him interview someone to get their opinions and he again said he hadn't watched the last few episodes yet.

    How much does that stink? Some people hate going into work because their coworkers might spoil an episode they missed. For this guy, work was forcing him to be spoiled!
    I don't have a lot of pity for that guy - barring a death in the family, or similar level trauma/emergency, or a last minute substitution, it sounds like he was sent out to report on one of the biggest shared pop culture events in a VERY long time, and he didn't prepare for the job. I suspect his reporting might have been a wee bit better had he actualy seen the lead-up episodes...

  23. Well, pre-show, I was hoping for
    1) a non-Purgatory-esque-ending, I thought that would be a cop-out,
    2) some strong explanations for the physical/scientific discontinuities/time travel/inconsistencies,
    3) revelations about the philosophical, literary, and social shout-outs/easter-eggs that were dropped in so often.

    I think a lot of those pre-show hopes were dashed. We actually did get a bit of a Purgatory ending, though not from the direction expected. And we didn’t really get many answers to the scientific /etc. inconsistencies (though the Purgatory situation explains a lot of them). And there will be many philosophical/etc. easter-eggs that will leave us asking whether the writers really knew whether their apparent intended ‘implications’ matched our ‘inferences.’ And after reading nearly every one of Doc Jensen’s detailed analyses of each episode of the show, (very worthwhile reading, Google it and lose a month of your life), there were many thousands of references that may never be answered.

    And yet, I found myself, both during and after the show, completely and utterly blown away by the quality of this episode. I was surprised to find out how much I cared about these characters, and how much more I cared about them than I did about the Science/plot details.

    And as many good TV shows as there have been throughout the years, this is undeniably in the top 3 Best of All Time, and after some more reflection, I may decide that for me, it has been the Best. It has certainly been, by far, the most intellectually stimulating show in TV history. It also seems to say a lot about society, and humanity. (And I Love that they directly, at least twice, DISassociated Religion and Faith/Spirituality. A theme that resonates with me.)

    I watched it without my wife (she’s obsessed with Castle Age, and will watch tonight on DVR), and I found myself brought to tears many times:
    Claire/Kate/Aaron;
    Claire/Charlie;
    Hurley reuniting Sayid with Shannon, and redeeming him thusly;
    Sun and Jin flashing, and “learning” English ;
    Sawyer Punk-popping Ben in the grill and taking the gun, (That was so funny I laughed until I cried!)
    Hurley taking the mantle (When he said “Better Him than Me…”,about Jack taking the mantle, I said aloud to my wife, “That’s a lie.” I was off, but only by a little. ;
    Sawyer/Juliet;
    Locke moving his feet right after the surgery, and completely freaking Jack out;
    Jack/Kate/Casket;
    Ben and Hurley at the end;
    Ben and Locke at the end;
    Vincent laying down next to Jack;
    Jack and Christian;
    Everyone together in the chapel…

    And even with all of the unanswered questions, I still think it was the best evening of TV I think I have ever experienced.
  24. Thanks, the new link solved my problem!
  25. I used to use Red Tomax's site to get detailed powerset/AT information (recharge times, power details, etc.) ... but it doesn's seem to have been updated in quite a while (no rad blasters, no new controller summoning...)

    So I was just wondering, is there a new central location for this kind of information? Thanks for the help, all...
