  1. I was pretty floored by that finale too. Totally in denial. I'm still not sure Kate is dead.

    You got me there.

    In Bizarro-World!

Short story shorter: If you even remember what Per-ED was like, then the quick tip would seem to be:

Start Over. It's a New Game. Completely, Utterly, and Totally New.*

Gonna haveta agree with this over the Jessica Alba comment.

I have to say, as much as I was looking forward to it, I liked it, but I didn't love it. My immediate reaction: It took itself slightly too seriously, the story lacked a certain polish, and it wasn't quite funny enough often enough (also, not a ton of good lines). I'd still rate it a 7 out of 10, but the easiest comparison I can make is that I was expecting it to be nearly as funny as Shaun of the Dead, but it didn't get close to that.

Still, I'd go see another Trejo vehicle in a heartbeat.
  5. What in the name of all that is holy are we doing still talking about ED??????

Please go looking for 'another mmorpg that makes sense.' I know that after 5 years with this one, and still going, this one is complete nonsense and a waste of anyone's time and effort.

Amazing. Oh yeah, that was sarcasm, in case it wasn't clear.

    Increases in fly speed, 2x?

Decreases in archery animation times, twice?

My History-Fu is weak, wait until some of the real knowledgeable people get on to squash this conspiracy theory.

SOOO tired of people seeing the NONEXISTENT dark cloud for the prominent silver lining.
  8. I like the sound of the changes, so far. I think I hope we DON'T get a word on the "why" of the changes, because that will just fuel more argument over whether the reasons were good reason or bad reasons, right reasons or wrong reasons. Instead of, how is this going to make the game more fun, and how will the strategies and tactics about using the new rules affect our gameplay.

I can't understand how people see this as any sort of negative with what we know right now, and it gives people at the very least, greater flexibilty in their builds. I suspect many alternative ideas were examined, including boosting base regen and recov rates, and I trust that the devs figured out that wouldn't work. Not that they're perfect, and discussion is obviously a good thing, but jeez guys, this is a total win (except for potential power creep). With that one exception, this seems to support one overarching idea: that no matter how huge a boon one gives a group of players, some people will inevitable see the Eeeeebil inherent in the Good.

    Doom on!
  9. Midair.

I've noticed in some other games what would be called 'perspective' puzzles - where you put your character in a particular location, look in a certain 'direction', and you can see a puzzle answer revealed. Usually it involves seeing a set of 3-dimensional statues/sculptures/etc. arranged in a different orientation than they are normally viewed from.

I'd love to see this type of puzzle implemented in CoX in the form of a location badge. Given the difficulty of 'marking' a midair location with a 'badge', 'seeing' the puzzle revealed might be the way to set off the badge credit trigger.

I dunno how difficult this might be to implement, and it would definitely involve coordination with the Art department, but it's an idea I'd love to see in the game.
  10. Year's best tag line: "You ****ed with the wrong Mexican!"
  11. That was ... interesting. Also, it's "Der terk urr jerrrbszz!"
  12. I think Trakkorzog's lair, Apartment 14B next to The Tick and Arthur, was pretty sweet. And he also ruled Dimension 14B, coincidence? I think not. Also, though aggravating at times, at least his roommate was responsible about the rent.

Thanks for the tips, I'm trying to go from ~100 million on my "Rich" guys to "Enough to IO them out Properly". It's been rough going with the history on items being wiped out recently- although I guess that could work for you as well. Just harder to identify niches at the moment.

  15. (bringing this over from the Beta boards)

A LOOOONG time ago I put up a list of sports emote suggestions, can’t seem to get it out of the Forum Abyss… trying to remember them:

    Baseball –
    toss (like coin toss)
    pitch
catch (squat with a catcher’s mitt)
Glove (just wear a baseball glove)
    Umpire Time out call
Umpire Safe call (elaborate, think Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun movie)
    Umpire Out call (also elaborate)
    Umpire Strike call (also elaborate)
    Swing bat
    Bunt

    Basketball
    Dribble (lol)
    Shoot
    Granny Shot
    Slam Dunk

    Football (American)
Toss (toss ball from one hand to the other)
    Pass (make passing motion)
Trophy-pose (like the Heisman trophy, if it’s not restricted)
    2 point stance
    3 point stance
    4 point stance
    Hold (for field goal)
    Punt
    Ref Touchdown
    Ref Holding
    Ref Pass Interference

    Soccer (“Football”)
That thing soccer players do with the ball, like hackey-sack* - (foot)juggle?
    Throw in
    Yellow card
    Red card

    *Hackey-sack

    Golf
    Drive
    Putt

    Volleyball
    Bump
    Set
    Spike
    Serve

    Tennis
    Serve
    Ready (stand with racket)
    Overhead Smash

    Hockey
    Slap shot
    Goalie

Ballet moves (dunno too much about this myself…)

That’s just a few, add to the list!
  16. I really wouldn't call Pilgrim a 'romcom' - just because it matches elements of that genre, it really doesn't match up with movies like "Pretty Woman" and "When Harry Met Sally", which iis what most guys think of (with a groan) when they hear 'romcom'. I think it's more like 'The Breakfast Club', which is similarly hard to pigeonhole.

One of the worst losses to comedy, acting, and the world in a long time. Still feels like a fresh wound.

Yeah, NO. I saw Scott Pilgrim, and let me tell you, FANTASTIC flick. I haven't seen a movie that good AND entertaining in a long while... Toy Story 3 notwithstanding.

As for seeing Stallone angrily mutter his old *** through an unfunny explosionfest, no thanks.

Little B-C-lister Danny Trejo will take Machete and wipe the floor with Rocky.

I'm going to agree with the Goat on this one. I'm not a big fan of Jolie, and she really does not exude Monroe.

Also, 'acting' does often include more than 'looking like a person.'
