I'm trying to reroll an electric/shield scrapper of mine as a kin/shield, and now I'm worried about someone else taking the name during the excessive time that the name is now freed due to my not being able to remake the character.
EDIT: Now the character name at least appears to be taken on my account, but the character is unplayable - instead of a level 1 magic scrapper with 0 days offline, she appears as a level 1 offlinestring offlinestring with 3890 days offline, and no costume. -
Quote:Unfortunately, I am a Virtue sort, and I still somehow am out of the loop.Unless you are a Virtue sort, you wouldn't get it likely, but I'd totally go for an Mrwrk/Amerikatt teamup
Caemgen and Farrah(fka Veredelte) might be interesting....
...yeah drawing a blank on other people's characters really and no one really knows any of mine but Kai. -

Interrogator Kang is a nice guy. I would share a pint with him.

Hmmm... dang, I just don't seem to know other people's characters well enough to put anything here

Praetorian characters don't have to be the opposite of their Primal counterparts, though they certainly can be. Take Belladonna Vetrano, for instance - in Praetoria, there is no Arachnos, and she never died. That alone doesn't make her seem "opposite" to me, though, and as a character she doesn't seem to be wildly different. I went a similar route with the Praetorian version of my "radiation tank" (really a stone/energy tank with powers colored to look as nuclear as possible) - his backstory is that he used to be a stone/SS tank, but a respec trial gone awry changed him. Since neither the Sky Raiders nor Terra Volta Reactor exist in Praetoria, Atomsmash the radiation tank never existed, and instead there is his non-irradiated former self, Fissure Strike, who is a responsible loyalist. Same guy, different history.
On the other hand, my first 50 is a heavily evil dom whose powers come from forbidden knowledge found in ancient, dusty tomes... you know the kind of stuff. Her Praetorian version is a warden of the resistance, playing up on the knowledge being power theme: the Praetorian version was too busy fighting for knowledge to be free and never had the chance to go bad like her Primal self, who hoarded more and more for herself in a world where free knowledge is already abundant. Eldrix (the evil one) dresses in black leather and fishnet, while Beata wears white silk and lace - though their costume structures are still the same general shape. Think Ms. Liberty as opposed to Dominatrix... something like that. -

1. My grav/rad troller, meant to be a sentient black hole, never touches the ground unless forced. I took the Flight pool solely for Hover on him - his travel power is Teleport.
2. My sword/shield scrapper only uses the powers in her Flight pool when she's in her first costume, her winged powersuit.
3. No hokey workarounds when it comes to names. If all accepted spellings of a name are taken, I can't have that name. This nearly killed a character for me once when I couldn't think of an alternative! -
Totally off-topic, but whenever I see your avatar I think it's one of MY posts, since it's the same character... mine's just the Totally Not Ripped Off From Anything, No Sir, This Is Just A Mender OC version...

At least you HAVE it. I held out for the Complete Collection and its free month of game time, so I can't make any of those planned Praetorians yet... and boy howdy do I have a whole serverful of plans...
Come onnnnnn, NCSoft store! Hurry up! -
Quote:As a joinable faction, Ouroboros should top this list despite their not currently being an enemy group. Just sayin'.David said they are actively working on converting new and old enemy costume pieces for player use - "Stay tuned".
Longbow ought to be a priority too, I suppose, even though we beat 'em up all the time over on redside... but seriously, can I have my Mender parts already? Please? -
Dude, sweet. Here are some of mine in case any strike your fancy:
Zenith Fighter X, my sword/shield scrapper, in both plain clothes and power armor
Unstar, my grav/rad troller, a sentient black hole (I decided against the cape; ignore it)
Eldrix the Blackbird, grav/energy dom, the first one I made and the first 50, with and without wings
Atomsmash and his sidekick Mecha-Dawn, in their matching outfits
And lately, Oougel, the half-human/half-Soldiers-of-Rularuu escaped Arachnos experiment, a heroic Widow. -
Did you miss that loincloth, mate? Arachnoids wear loincloths. Still, porous floor + no apparent toilets is pretty bad...

For some of us though it's quicker to type than to use that. I am pro this suggestion.

Quote:Jackets and sleeveless jackets, actually. So you could use the mini-vest, and color it to be not terribly obvious.you can, i think it's with any robe, you can choose the fur from the shoulder options. I'll check that, think it's robes tho...
edit: shirts, baggy, robe (not sleeveless), jackets (not sleeveless), trenchcoat, magic bolero all have the fur in the shoulder options, it's the last on the list and is called 'magic robe'. -
If I'm reading this correctly, it's exactly what I've been wishing Teleport was for months.

I remember seeing him in the "Best Costume Designs" thread... easily one of my favorite toons ever. I love the effect the muted colors have on his look - so thematic!

Okay, well, the question wasn't about the Mac/PC compatibility (I knew that already), just making sure the Items+Month thing was true. It just happens that the Mac pack is the only one I don't have yet, so it was the example that got used. Thanks!
-
I can't remember where or if I heard this, but say I want the Mac edition item pack. If I already have the game, and I buy not the item pack itself but the entire Mac special edition, can I use the activation code as an upgrade code for my existing account, thus getting both the items and a month of playtime?

Quote:Seconded. I have at least one character that would LOVE to wear that.I'm not sure if this qualifies as a 'lost' costume piece, but it is definitely something I want. The female merit vendor in Sharkhead Isle near the black market truck is wearing a very awesome looking belt.
It seems to be a common trend for the Merits Vendors to be created from existing player enabled costume pieces, why is her belt an exception.. and can we have it? please? -
Me: Not terribly recent, but the only thing that's changed in all those years is hairstyle - I don't have those bangs anymore.
Character: Hmm, let's go with this one. -
Sure! I'll post mine after I get home tonight.

I have two other Mender characters, but they're both pretty tech-oriented (though the second one does cast some fire spells):
Epoch's not high enough level yet, but she's supposed to have a lighter-brown and grayish striped scarf scarf fastened at the front with the same diamond-shaped pin that Lazarus uses (like in my avatar). She's a bots/fire mastermind who's waiting for Going Rogue, and Lathrop's a Kin/Electric defender.
Both of them, however, are quite heroic types (though Lathrop's methods can sometimes be mildly questionable; he tends to break a few laws if he doesn't think it'll hurt anything). The way I see it, so is Lazarus, and he's just in the dark... thus, so are these two.
