Use with Sit Emotes for Invisible Jet?
  2. As a huge Top Gear fan, I was delighted to get the name Captain Slow on Triumph (don't worry, it's not copyrighted; just the nickname of one of the presenters). He's a kin. With no speed boost. Because really, that would make no sense at all.

    Speech bubbles.

So I thought of a silly little idea the other day. How about some more options for customizing speech bubbles, besides color? Two options I can think of right away besides the default round ones are square and "creepy" (think wavy, drippy border). You could select which style to use in the options screen, near where you choose colors now. It's a little thing, not at all really important, but I thought it could be neat for robot and undead characters, and enhance the comic book feel of the game. How hard could it be?

    I love electricity sets.
But don't save Short Circuit for last; my kin/elec defender takes out like half their endurance with it, and it goes down faster when they don't recover! I've sapped Dr. Vazhilok to helplessness with it before.
  5. Sounds good! I hope I remember. My only viable character for it is a 50 Grav/Energy dom, so that's who I'll bring.
  6. Hmm... I might be able to finally make a proper Blender!

(That's in the same vein as Scranker and Blapper, etymology-wise.)
  7. Ah yes, certainly it should not be an inherent - but I'm liking the anciliary idea.

That was really hysterical. Recently I've been running a Spines Scrapper and enemies break and run from me while suffering the toxic damage-over-time secondary effect (stacked from several attacks, sometimes) -- I'll see 3-4 guys running away from me and fanning out, then all at once they crumple, tumble, and roll to the ground.

Area knockdown is another effect that fills me with the kind of glee that I hope isn't showing on my face when anybody's looking.
You know how sometimes the ragdoll physics glitches and enemies get stuck in things? Once, on I think my dom, I knocked a guy back and he stuck to the edge of the platform I was standing on. Thing is, the anchor point happened to be one of his hands... so it ended up being the really stereotypical "dramatic have mercy save me halp halp" scene. Until I stomped his fingers.

    That made me happy!
  9. Triumph was STILL impossible to find a lowbie team redside >

However, just as it was ending, I managed to get my level 50 dominator there onto an ITF. Somewhere along the second mission, our tank disconnected, and someone worried aloud if we'd be able to finish with a team composed of five squishies and a scrapper... we kept going anyway, nobody else left, and somewhere around the Romulus Phalanx I ended up somehow giving the orders... wasn't even thinking about it, people just started asking me what to do. It actually went much, much better than I'd expected with me calling the shots; we only wiped once in the last mission.

Given that the purpose of any game is to provide fun, and this game does so by allowing us to perform AWESOME! superhuman feats, I'd say there is a need for as many possible AWESOME! superhuman feats as we can fit. While there is no specific call for [Hurl Scrapper], it clearly falls under the general category of Really Fun Things, and if the devs were going to add in more general fun (repeat, there can never be too much of this) I would be 100% delighted if this was what they added.

  12. You never hit ME up for a freebie...
  13. Oh wait, I do have a story, from when I was on Virtue.

I was playing my lowbie (now 20) Brute, and got onto a full PUG. The leader warns us that he'll have to go AFK for a while, and when that happens if someone else could temporarily take the star and keep the team going because he doesn't want it to die. Seems reasonable - he says it'll be only 20-30 minutes, and while leading a team isn't exactly my favorite thing to do, I don't mind taking the reins for a few missions while I wait for the real leader to get back. So, he has to go, gives me the star, goes AFK, sits there, doesn't quit the team or anything. No biggie.

Several minutes in, he disconnects. I figure he'll send me a tell when he gets back... after all I did tell him to, and he seems like a decent guy.

20 minutes turns into 30, and I don't hear a word. Then 40... great. Just lovely. Somewhere around the hour mark, when I'm waiting for everyone else to get out of the mission we just completed, I see a broadcast for forming a team... guess who?

    GAAAAAHHHHHHHH.

    Contact Concepts

Nemesis Operative is - and this is a phrase I don't use often, for fear of sounding like a hopeless prat - made of pure win.
  15. That's nice of you! I'll be sure to. The way things are going though, I probably won't be home before Double XP goes away, alas.
  16. Okay, I'm in serious agreement that a Dark Manipulation set would be very cool. You know what I'd like even more though? Dark Control. It's not hard to imagine, since Dark has so many control powers already, and trollers/doms are notably lacking in Fear... let's see:

    1. Ranged, moderate DoT (negative), foe Fear, -ToHit.
    2. Ranged, moderate DoT (negative/smashing), foe Immobilize, -ToHit (Tentacles animation)
    3. Ranged, moderate DoT (negative), foe Hold
    4. Tar Patch?
    5. Tenebrous Tentacles
    6. Shadow Fall?
    7. Fearsome Stare
    8. Torrent
    9. Something similar to Smoke from the Fire set
    10. Dark Servant is not a suitable controller pet but removing one of the debuffs and replacing Twilight Grasp with Dark Blast or something should make it the right sort

    What say ye?

I hope I can get home in time. I got the name "Criminal Scum" and I'd hate for the character to go to waste.
  18. Am I the only person who, in the event that this happens, wants to see an AP full of catgirls doing such emotes?

I tried several times... eventually, I always got bored of seeing nobody anywhere and kept going back to Virtue. The one time I was able to find a team on Triumph, it was in the RWZ, which my MM is too low to get into.

After reading the description of the Shivans and where they come from... that makes an enormous amount of sense, even if Shivans don't look at all like anything from the Shadow Shard. Neat.

Not if one of them has slotted his [Change Lightbulb] power for maximum interrupt time reduction. Then he can do it himself, especially if he pops a few purple inspirations.
  23. I thought to myself, "Hey, maybe someone will be ON redside Triumph for once! I can level my thugs/poison MM!"

But ah, it was too much to hope for.

It's simple cost economics, really. If you want it NOW like I do, you will pay. If you don't, you can wait for a discount or denomination.
    This.

I'm the other side of the coin: I'm perfectly happy to wait on getting demon summoning and dual pistols, and I've got plenty of lowbie characters that I made when I had the ideas but haven't played heavily yet to pass the time. By July, I'll be able to pay $40 for the game, the item pack, AND a month of game time, the last of which I understand the prepurchasers won't be getting, so I'll be saving $15 compared to whatever prepurchase folks decide to buy the item pack when it gets put in the stores by itself, presumably for $10. Seems good to me!
