So, er, Jay... is there a reason that the Lone Skull belt option can't be used with the Magic Bolero and trenchcoat?
-
...Wait, since when does origin matter in terms of how easily you can kill things?
-
So I have two characters in mind who aren't yet created - they will be in July, when I buy GR, and the names want pistols. I don't know whether I want the first to be a DP/Devices Blaster or a Traps/DP Defender. You who have played DP, what are your opinions - Blaster or Fender? Or maybe a Corruptor, gone hero?
The second also has no set archetype, and worse, has no set powerset-that-isn't-DP. Whatever she ends up being, I don't want her to be the same as the first DP character (different archetype would be ideal but not really super-essential). If it helps, she's a tribute to Carmen San Diego, only a little steampunkier. I do NOT want Dark Miasma as the other power set, should she end up a Corruptor or Defender, since with the costume I gave her she'd end up looking too much like a female Alucard and I don't want that. The one input I do have is that if I take Devices and make her a Blaster, that saves me a power pool since I'd otherwise be taking Stealth on her for sure.
So, er, insights? Halp?
EDIT: Thematically, a DP/Mental Blaster works for the first one as well, but I'm not dead set on using it or anything; just saying that it works just as well as gadgets with the name (Argent Provocateur). -
Re: KnightErrant's post - *Applause*
Re: Jophiel's post - You reminded me of my troller, Unstar. I needed to figure an explanation for how a black hole gained sentience. My answer was Kheldians: as beings of energy rather than matter, when one of them fell into the black hole that would become the Unstar, its conscious was not simply destroyed since it wasn't bound to a fleshy brain - rather, it was scrambled to the point of no longer being a Kheldian and became bonded to the black hole's mass. The Kheldian is essentially dead: Unstar has no powers resembling those of a Peacebringer and is unaware that the consciousness he possesses is from residual Kheldian energy. As a comic-book-BS-science explanation, though, I figure it's as good as any. -
You know what's funny? I've never once thought CoX had poor graphical quality.

Pistol Assault.
Not bloody likely, but I think it could be super awesome. The melee attacks could be a pistol-whip for the lower damage one... for the higher-damage one, I'm picturing shooting them point blank, something akin to Mind Probe from the psionic assault set, only with a gun. -
Oh, is THAT how they did it? Neat.
-
Go right ahead. It'd be a second-generation steal, since I swiped it from a guy who had it in blue already (the wedding tux/high collar/fringe combo, that is) when I saw how badass it looks with the DP animations.

I have those!
Silk Talon: DB/Ninja Stalker, a Tsoo madam. I BS'd that Tsoo madams are so seldom seen because the black ink of their tattoos grants them the ability to make you forget they were ever there.
Sideshow Suzy: Mace/Invuln Brute, a Carnie Strongwoman. The story behind her is that she was too big and dumb to be an Attendant or Harlequin when the Carnival tried to induct her, so they tried to kill her... but then she put a Strongman in a hammerlock, and they were like, "Hey, we can use this!"
Nurse N33dl3z: Petless Crab Spider, a Freakshow Meat Doctor with stolen Arachnos tech. Not much else to say about her.
Lumenvoid: Peacebringer. A Void Hunter and a Peacebringer nearly-mortally wounded each other, and the only way either of them would survive was if the Void Hunter became the Kheldian's new host.
Menders Epoch, Lathrop, and Zeal: Bots/Fire future-heroic MM, Kin/Elec Def, and Dark/Dark Corr respectively. Based not-so-loosely on my three favorite time travelers from other cana (Chrono Trigger and Back to the Future). All of them are oblivious to any Nemesis plots surrounding Ouroboros.
I love - LOVE - coming up with characters with heavy lore base. Designing the costumes alone makes me glee. If the name is still free by the time I'm able to buy more slots on Virtue, I've got my eye on "Frankenstyle" for a Facemaker nurse character. I'd camp it, but I'm busy camping "Argent Provocateur" for when I buy GR and can make her; she'll be either a DP/devices Blaster or a Traps/DP Defender, and she has a PPD theme. -
-
I don't have GR yet, but I've already got two DP characters planned - Argent Provocateur and Double-Dealing Diva:
Yes, Diva is a tribute. No, not to Alucard. -
For in-character reasons, I want a void hunter rifle, too. I can't even get the usual version on the character who wants it, either, 'cause she's a hero.
-
-
Gosh dernit, I'm trying to think of something clever but all I'm getting is mental images of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" populated entirely by ten-foot-tall blue catpeople.
-
Guh. I can't make the character yet, but come GR, I'd love to bring my planned heroic DP/traps corruptor Argent Provocateur, who has a PPD theme. Hopefully this will be still going by then...
-
That would be pretty darn cool. I'd use it.
-
Illusion dominator. I want to combine Illusion Control with Energy Assault.
-
Trina used to have a different costume from what she has now?
-
One of my /kins has the message "I do not have Speed Boost." So far, no flack for not having it... but seriously, with the name Captain Slow, you should have been able to guess.
-
Quote:I would think this is merely a question of the right costume and bio, and maybe a stealth proc.Unfortunately, the "toons" I'd like to play, I plain can't and will never be able to, not as originally designed. A few specific concepts:
*Hologram hero. The hero is never physically in the field, he only ever projects a "hard light" hologram that has limited ability. While the hologram can be dispersed, it can just be rebroadcast with ease.
Well, the easiest way of going about this is just to add some alternative graphics to the Stone power sets... devs, are you listening? -
As the owner of several furred and scaled characters as well as my aforementioned Tsoo, I wholly support such an idea... if the devs ever have time to do it.
-
Of course they shouldn't be locked up. Not until they actually DO something bad... which seems like it'd be fairly likely to happen soon after Eggman's defeat and they don't have a unifier with the heroes anymore.
EDIT: Thank you, Mental Giant. Ozy is a much better example than Vader.
