Despair clung in clumps of fog and damp earth on the outskirts of Grettensburg. The greasy film left on the leaves that fell into the oily mud on the ground dissolved into black as they descended into the muck.
Standing on top of a water tower, long graffitied by local teens, Lord Photon glanced down at the rainwater flowing in a thick ooze down into the storm drains.
After recieving a call from Casey at City Hall, Lord Photon had finished fixing his Photon Bike and sped out of town. He didn't have a guiding mentor to discourage wrecklessly leaving Paragon City. No, he had outgrown the need for prattling old men meddling in his life. One thousand years of regret does something for the ego.
The town's streets were largely empty. By the time Lord Photon stashed his bike in an out of the way spot behind a grocery store, the rain had begun in earnest. He had hovered to the top of the water tower to get some perspective.
In a matter of moments, he found what he was looking for. The foliage from this height seemed cleared away, but as he hovered across the street he could see that this was the trail that this Project X had left as it escaped.
Lord Photon descended to the mud and filth that coated the road under the broken limbs and torn trees. With a heavy, metal gauntlet he finds a lost ID badge from Getten Labs.
"Gotta find this guy... Bradley," Photon considered before mounting his Photon Bike and speeding back into the City. -
The following is a (OPEN RP) discussion regarding Lord Photon's appearance in the press, etc, by Pro. Gathers and his History Dept. faculty:

Subject: Test Materials Missing!
The disappearance of our test materials (Lord Photon?!) has led to an increase in security. It is an inconvenience to us all, but it will not do to have any -other- test materials disappear.

Diary of Dr. Miles Elton, aka Menofix.
This prison stinks. I am clearly not one of these depraved idiots who stalks the corridors of this tiresome fortress.
I must be free.

Thursday, August 12th... 11th century English armor arrived. Primary x-ray reveals the presence of a knight still entombed inside. We will begin removing the armor tomorrow.
I am fascinated to finally see the face of Lord Photon (albeit dessicated presumably). The violet eagle crest that marks his armor is clearly the herald of the House of Myrddin, a descendant of the mythical Merlin! Lord Photon's deeds were recounted as a saint in Glastonchurch Abby, and he is no minor heir of the venerable wizard. Indeed, if the stainglass story in the chapel is correct, his affinity for what he called "purifying" flames was unearthly.
Photon's abilities though less arcane in nature, were no less mysterious. He believed his ability was a gift from the Creator, to pass judgement on the injust and the greedy. Tales of his heroics are often told by word of mouth in parts of modern France as the White Knight.
His ability to engulf his foes in this purifying flame earned him great respect far and wide, from his early in his career as a demon-slayer and loyal Briton to his later career as a witch-hunter.
The records are not clear when he died, though his final conflict is hinted at in the illuminated manuscript recovered with the armor. The illustration in ink shows a terrifying sorceress wreathed in lightning while the White Knight wields a flaming sword about to strike.
Later that night... Further analysis has revealed that the armor appears to be made of adamantium alloys that are fused with his body. Removal of the armor will be much more difficult.
Friday, August 13th... Security tapes reveal the armor getting up and leaving at approx. 11pm last night. We are confounded!
