  1. The bigger the better is what ive always heard. lol. Nice female pirate. i've never seen one of those before in game.
  2. If basing on speed, then wouldn't 0x8 plus the speed to kill soo much faster get you more runs =ing the xp? What is your slider set at? +3,4 x1-8?

I usually run +2x8 when i'm using my accounts to farm and PL. The xp is still good and it don't take as long. Which also nets more tickets. My last 50 only took a week at the +2 pace.

At +2's i can take a toon from 1-14 in 1 run. At +4's with a friend, i think it went to 18.

Replies like this baffle me. A "casual" player can't like to PvP? Maybe the only reason the person even wants to play is to PvP, but REAL life hinders that. A person CAN be casual and like to PvP, IMO. (note, IMO.) Just like you gave yours.

People love to say, "you can play with SO's", "casual" players have no need for the better things since they are just casual" (even tho they pay every month like everyone else, just don't have the hours to log each day).

What makes you people think that just because they can't play as much as others that they have no desire or want to make an UBER toon? The "casual-ness" may not be entirely up to them if they have a family to take care of. That BY NO MEANS makes their desire to have some of the better things any less. They surely can't afford it these days but you shouldn't act like they don't want it because YOU DON'T KNOW EVERY CASUAL PLAYER in this game. Talk about entitlement issues...

Elec/SD or Fire/kin... Scrappers do a ton more damage than tanks so i'd go that route esp when soft capped.

lol. im not giving him my loots. lol.

Payback ran at optimal settings for his powerset and survivabilty- even level, +3 or 4 spawn size. His AoE concentration meant 'normal' contact mission created plenty of opportunities for drops and he was able to clear them in good time.

maybe you're just a crummy farmer?
LMAO> Yes, that's it. Im a crummy farmer. Even if you wanted to believe that, you know that you know better. I would have to be the worst player in the game to not be able to farm with the toons i run. from 0x8 to +4x8

    1) Fire/Kin- fully IO'd with purps and procs.
    2) Fire/Rad- on follow just for the heals and imps and toggles like hot feet and chocking cloud (only commons)
    3) Fire/Sonic- for imps and debuffs and defense. (only commons)
    4) When im not on those i run a fully IO'd soft capped Elec/SD which can easily run +4x8 solo.
    5) or when in AE i use my Fire/Kin teamed with the /Sonic and a lev 35 (xp stopped) Ice/Cold troller for lev 35 tickets that the market is empty and in high demand of for people. (or myself)

I can blaze thru anything this game has to offer. Like i said, i'd have to be an idiot (which is what you want to think just because i disagree with the way the market is ran) not to be able to farm.

"casual" depends on the person. The way that YOU leveled yours may have been casual to YOU, but may not be casual as like, say, my cousin that plays whenever he can get 15$ from his parents. But don't worry, i'll tell him he don't need the better things in the game since he can't play like i or you do.

I can only speculate that your soloing includes duel boxing to powerlevel your characters via farms. There are two distinct differences. One is you will get less drops on your lower level character. Second, you won't receive any Merits. Random rolling Merits is a powerful way to get either wanted recipes, or ones that you can sell for very good income.

Nethergoat didn't mention Merit spending, so I can reasonably assume(since his final Influence number is at the high end of my own solo projects) that he received a few lucky drops. This isn't surprising in that even one lucky drop can make a 70 million Influence difference...or more.

Actually i tri-box and pl or run for drops in PI and AE. I may not get merits but in AE i get 9000 tix per hour i can easily get gold rolls on each toon. Although, i generally use 1 toon for gold, 1 for silver and 1 for bronze. The silver rolls actually make the most inf for me.

In PI, i normally max salvage and common recipes on 2 runs. Some junk, some good. Sometimes i can get 2-3 orange salvage per toon per run.

I haven't tried to run solo mishes but whenever i run with my friends or a team, i rarely even get any recipes to drop at all.

I am interested in how many drops are actually dropped running mishes solo. What are the settings that Nether runs at? 0x8 or what to have a fitted toon AND 300mil doing mishes to 50? Even farming every day, it takes time to get "good" drops and to be able to do it all just on radios or contacts is hard to believe.
  8. Then it MUST be gospel. Grats and ty we'll all go out and do that nao.
  9. I just made an AR/Ice. SO far i like. I'm thinking IcePatch>Ignite>Flamethrower>Shiver>Full Auto. Not sure how it'll work. Im only 11 atm but Chillbain>Slug>Ice Sword seems nice for now.

  11. Very nice. I know that took a while to post. Want to know something funny? That's my 1 mil Living Tatoo. It was done this afternoon.

I have a toon stopped at 35 and was crafting like 20 lev 35 recipes. The average of those L.T.'s were in the 600k - 800k range. I just popped 1 mil because the Oblit at level 35 was selling for 15mil. I didn't feel like i'd miss alot by losing 1mil for that considering i had 5 levl 35 Posi's and 6 Oblits, and some Decimation. I like Deci, personally. Good rech and end red set.

Energy has 4 melee attacks out of 9 powers. That leaves you half the set to choose from if you don't want the melee attacks. Except Power Thrust, you're stuck with that. Power Boost, a power that boosts the secondary effects of you other powers, wouldn't an Ice blaster find that useful? Or Boost Range...hmmm, sounds useful for someone who wants to avoid melee, does it not? Conserve Power...stretches your endurance bar so you can blast longer before running out of endurance....sounds like something all blasters could use.

Fire gives you a lot of powers that you need to be in melee to use. In fact, with the exception of Ring of Fire pretty much the whole set requires you to be in melee. Your generalization actually fits this one.

Devices doesn't have a single melee attack in it. Not one. Even Taser has range to it. No one has ever built a Devices blapper.

Electric also requires you to spend a lot of time in melee, but out of that, only 3 are melee attacks (4 if you count Shocking Grasp as an attack, I consider it a hold)

Mental Manipulation also makes you spend time in melee. But what do you get in the set? Melee attacks? Nope, only 2 powers in it count as a melee attack. You get Drain Psyche, one of the most awesome powers blasters have ever been given. World of Confusion, a fairly crappy damage aura with a minor confuse built in. And of the 2 that count as a melee attack, one is Psychic Shockwave, one of the best PBAoE attacks in the game, on ANY AT.

Yes, Ice does give you options other than melee attacks, but so do other sets.

As far as the blapper playstyle goes:

A blaster that uses ALL of his powers will outdamage one that only uses half of them. A blaster that uses only ranged is only half a blaster. On the flip side, a pure blapper who only fights in melee is no better. A true blaster is a damage dealer....it doesn't make any difference at all whether they're dealing that damage from down the hall or 2 feet away.

I'm building an Ice/Electric blaster that will have his melee ability. I don't consider him a blapper....he's just a blaster that doesn't gimp his damage potential by skipping his hard hitting attacks. Especially with Ice as his primary, what possible danger could he be in punching an enemy that is frozen in a block of ice?
Thank you so much for breaking that down and schooling me. I didn't mean it the way it sounded. It just seems hard for me to play blaster because "most" of all the 2ndaries require you to be in melee range but blasters feel VERY squishy to me. (unless IO'd to the gill)

/ice just seems to have the best mitigation to incoming damage. A slow toggle, a slow power, ice patch, an aoe sleep, a hold and an immob.

Alot of ways to stay safe.

I think /dev offers caltrops and a couple bombs that have to be planned. (which is hard to do on most teams)

/MM has WoC ( but on my arch/mm i hardly see it hit with a full set of purps on it.) A single thrust, and a single fear.

/Fire has burn to kb them.

I don't see much mitigation from the others. A single immob or single hold and thats about it.

But i'm no pro at blasting. I just always go /ice. lol.
  13. Just because the marketeers are happy, don't mean everyone is either. Most of the player base don't even post in here so to get a fair shake is pretty obviously not going to happen. I'm ok with that and with the immature name calling. Keep it up. It just shows how poorly you were raised and how you deal with other people not agreeing with you. So sad, really. I'll pray for you. Alot.

If it weren't for us farmers, how do you think WW would even function? If you had to build your toons on your drops, it'd take 10 years. How patient you think you'd be then?

It's scary for you to think about a change to the market system and making YOU play a certain way but when people have to deal with the way WW functions now that don't like it, that's ok with you. All you can say is don't IO toons or don't use WW. Hypocrits.

I don't know how much more to say a number, but more drops would be better for anyone trying to IO toons. The only people it would hurt are the flippers, and manipulators. I do know when i run a farm solo and only get 3 recipes other than commons, that seems low considering all the mobs i run thru. You think too many would hurt the game, but so does too little. It discourages alot of people from even messing with it. That hurts the system too.

Limited Editions don't cost THAT much more, either, Nevergoat. I have a limited edition yamaha r1. It cost me $1500. more than the original. Not 100mil over. Fail.
  14. Tell that to the people actually wanting the pieces and having to wait and wait and wait and wait and wait........ for bids to actually fill. AND to fill at "their" reasonable price. OH, wait, what's reasonable again? It's whatever they ARE MADE to HAVE to pay in order to even get the damned pieces from WW, that may go months without even filling. You're right. It's not a store, therefore we are made to buy the "luxuries" from the people that can play the game for 5 hours a day and decide what "reasonable" is.

On a side note, i just crafted 5 Posi's, Oblits, and Decimations at level 35 from a toon that i had to stop in order to get those recipes. Checked WW. Guess what? 0 for sell. Hm. I'd never have thought. I just threw them in a bin for future use instead of placing on the market for someone that can actually use them now. Don't seem quite right, does it?

I'm not trying to dictate how you play, but i'm already being made to play your way if i choose to take part in what i like to do and IO toons. More recipes for sale would not kill the game. I think the game was fine before WW was intro'd. therefore, it'd be fine with people actually having more recipes to IO more toons. To say it wouldn't, well, sir, you can't prove that Hyper.
  15. I solo everyday. I use 2 or 3 accounts depending on time. I farm in AE and PI. I use either a fire/kin or elec/sd.

If i'm in PI, I do this solo at 0x8 for drops. If i invite, it's only global friends. Mainly for noncompletion of the mish.

If i go to AE to PL an alt then i invite anyone at any level to join in the fun, xp, tix, etc.
  16. I don't really make blasters due to the 2ndaries, also. My thought process is like this; Why make blasters defense so weak, but add mainly melee attacks to the 2ndaries? The only one i ever choose is /ice because is has something to offer other than melee attacks. I try to keep them as far from the fight as i can. I don't understand "blappers". Maybe someone can offer some insight to the playstyle.
  17. Awesome pix people. Very nice looking toons. Can't wait to make some myself.
  18. grats. careful, it goes just as fast or faster than u can get it. lol.
  19. Fun IS subjective. But if someone wants to play a style where they play 1, one, toon for years and wants to wait for pieces they get in missions or place bids over years to build a toon then why can't i play a style where i like to make several toons at once and level them and IO them as fast as i want? Why is YOUR fun more important than mine? See, subjective is the key term here. Nothing makes the way YOU want to play more important than the way I want to play. My 15$ holds the same current value as your 15$.

That's why we need more drops, so that EVERYONE has a place where they can enjoy what they like to do as long as it's not exploiting or cheating.

Running the occasional mission to stress test performance on evolving builds is about the extent of my 'real' gameplay these days.

I have noticed lately that all the changes of the last few years have greatly suppressed my formerly insatiable appetite for new alts- the ability to evolve existing characters via IOs means I can keep scratching that character development itch with characters who've hit the level cap.

I'm sure Going Rogue will reignite my alt-itis though, if we get the plethora of new costume options I'm expecting.

This is kinda me. I LOVE IO'ing toons. I have several just BA toons waiting to be played. I hate playing low levels with only a couple powers to click. I really like getting them into teh mid 30's -40's and then IO'ing them with goodies. If i get into the 30's and it isn't what i thought it'd be, i delete. I even delete at 50 if not satisfied.

Maybe that's why i say we need more drops. I can get a couple toons ready to IO per week. The problem is the market is dry, hence the reason i stopped a toon at 35 for recipes. Got a ton of LotG, Posi's, Kin Com's just waiting to be placed on the next toon i think is worth it. I like playing high end farms, or missions over low level stuff.

I have no desire to just sit toons at WW and check in and out though. I sell what i don't want and buy what i do. To call people names because they don't want to do that, is pretty imbecilic in itself. So, continue to post on every sentence if you want, but grow up and realize not everyone has to agree with you, either. I can make just as much inf without flipping, manipulating, using 10 toons to sit at WW, or whatever you want to do. Does it mean i like spending it on teh inflated prices? Not so much because i like to IO alot of toons, not just 1.

    ... and so it goes.

(Note: As far as pool B's, anyway, more are produced at level 50 than at level 30-49 combined. In a moment of scientific curiosity/stupidity I tried to corner the entire supply of Mako's Dam/End once, buy new ones, sell a supply of the ones I had and generally raise the price floor. It didn't work, made me cranky, and gave me that very expensive chunk of knowledge. )

I say people pay inflated prices because that's all we have a choice to do. When's the last time you got a 7.5% LotG for 50mil or less or a miracle recov? Been a while, i'd say. It's not financially stupid to roll lower than 50, imo. I have a toon stopped at 35 and lev 35 recipes sell for more than 50's on alot of recipes due to dried up market in that area. As you know.

We need better drop rates. Period. Or a better way to get lower lev recipes. Wonder why people PL to 50? Well, it's where the supply is readily available. Who wants to let a bid sit for months hoping to fill on a toon, then do the same thing across what, 30 powers? Who plays 1 toon that long before rolling an alt? Surely not me.

I agree that if a mob is one-shotted it doesn't really matter that much how one-shotted they are, I was just pointing out that Inferno does significantly more damage because it means Inferno can one-shot stuff that SC/LR can't. Even though as said before, SC/LR recharging much faster and not crashing your end mean over time they can easily do as much damage.

Funny. I've PL'd 2 already since they seen mine and emailed them my build to them. I'm not a numbers guy, but this one was really easy to build. You really should. Mine's soft capped with 152% rech. It's really hard to play another scrapper set after the damage this one deals and with the damage he can withstand. Esp, if you like running the ITF.
  23. np. it varies either way. im thinking its due to AAO and how many baddies i can get around me. i tried it both ways. bu+ma+sc or ma+bu+sc. damage varied from 770ish to 846 was the highest that i have in photo. i just didnt post that one cause i had a tell in it. i can if its hard to believe.

i was saying it done as much as a nuke. what i was tryin to say is that it felt like it if i can 1 shot them. if u can 1 shot with a nuke, or i 1 shot with SC, it may as well do the same(even if it don't) because in the end the same result was made. that's all i was tryin to say.
