Quote:I'm on Justice, Freedom, and Virtue.A couple of nights ago, I congratulated a relatively new player (6 month vet) on her very first level 50. While she started a number of different alts, her Rad/Rad defender was the one she fell in love with and played almost exclusively for the last couple of months.
Up to that point, she had done most of the hero side TFs but had yet to try the three of the more popular end game TFs: the Statesman TF, the Imperius TF and the Lady Grey TF. She was eager to try them out, since they represented completely new and unexplored content for her.
Upon reaching 50, some of the comments she made were rather interesting (paraphrasing): "Yay, level 50 at last. Now all I need start farming so I can afford all those IOs." You see, she was under the impression that you had to have IOs to even attempt the end game TFs, and that her mostly SO build would be inadequate.
I tried to tell her otherwise, but she commented that she had seen other Rad defenders and they seem to heal faster, take less damage and have their key debuffs up faster. She remained convinced that a TF team leader would take one look at her character info, see the karma -knockback IO as her only set bonus and kick her off the team. Understand that the player in question also played World of Warcraft for a couple of years and apparently such gear discrimination is a lot more common in that game.
I even told her I'd be happy to start up any TF she wanted, invite good and friendly players and would gladly take her Rad defender. She demurred stating that she'd feel terrible if she "dragged down" the team, and that she'd only join once she was convinced that she could pull her own weight.
So today, she contacted me and asked me how to farm with her new level 50 and asked me for tips on how to leverage the market to get influence quickly. She told me that she had started an electric/shield scrapper, not because she enjoyed playing scrappers, but because they were good farmers. Somehow, this left me a little sad.
Please, please, please, refer her to me. -
Forum rep is just a mini-game.
A sweet, delicious game.
Did you know that you can report neg rep that violates the forum rules? Being combative is against forum rules, in fact. -

i was looking fo the location of lvls 24, 34 and 44 respec missions.
can anyone help me out with some more info plz? -
Quote:Ah, I could easily go along with this as I only needed to reacquire one badge in SG mode to get the Atlas sg badge.By that I meant the games knows when there is one exploration badge left before the zones beacon badge is awarded, and will award the beacon no matter who gets that last exploration marker.
I'm sure there are SG's out there that have had this issue, even if the same character gained all of the beacon badges.
It's what I thought might have caused it back when I lost one of my beacons. -
Quote:It is a plausible theory, except in this case there was only one toon that earned the badges and he's still in the SG.I've had this happen in my VG before. The only thing that came to mind at that time was that a friend left the game (taking their character with them) and one of their characters was the one that had 'earned' that beacon exploration badge.
I realize that the beacon badges are SG-wide, and it doesn't matter who gets the exploration badges for a zone to get the beacon badge.
The game obviously keeps track of the badges, and knows who gained that last badge for the beacon.
And I disagree with the last sentence but unfortunately can't elaborate. -
Quote:I don't think so - I had all explore badges earned over a year ago.IIRC, there was a bug a while back that issued EVERY badge to SGs. This allowed people to make and place items they really didn't earn (yet), and included items that are still not even unlocked even after having all currently available badges.
It may be possible your beacons were earned/placed during this time, which may have led to their eventual deletion when the problem was fixed, but the items you created still remained in the base. -

Just trying to see if anyone else has lost a SG Explore badge.
I deleted all of the beacons in my base, so I could reorder them and found that I could only add three and a quick check revealed that I only had 3 SG explore badges (previously I had all 21 blueside ones).
Asking around had people say they had lost one or two here and there, which makes me wonder if this really is something widespread or just a fluke.
Note: I'm not looking for advice on fixing the problem and yes, I have contacted CS (I will say no more on that, as very likely I'd be instabanned were I to voice my opinion on that experience).
Soooo....anyone lose a SG Explore badge? If you read this, mind checking and seeing if you still have the ones you should? I have no idea when this happened as I added the last beacon over a year ago. -

Quote:I gave up leading and then participating in them because you'd have people an hour before the scheduled start whining in broadcast that they were lft and no one was inviting. The Hive filling up super early was pretty common even before the free holiday server transfers. I recall during the final months of the last round of regular Hami raids, I would rarely even be able to get into the Hive 30 minutes, sometimes even 45 minutes, prior to the raid (and couldn't get there any earlier due to work...'cause 30-45 minutes prior is 5:15-5:30pm Pacific). It got to the point where I just stopped even trying.
One of the few benefits of my current misfortune is that I have a hellavalot more free time so I can attend raids again! -
You forgot half-naked.

Quote:There is none. Stone tanks get great regen with Rooted, but that's it. Actually granite may be worse because of the -recharge, so I think most of it is psychological.Since Hami's damage is unresistable and always hits, I'm not understanding the argument that Granite Tanks somehow handle it better. Care to explain?
Quote:I know I was a bit late with the buffs/Tanks out! call and will give more time next time. I had an inordinate amount of tells and had a new raider on my team. I'm going to start directing more of that kind of stuff to Phantom (who brings Nurseferatu to the raids) so I can watch Hami better. Again, I appreciate everyone's patience and feedback as I get back in the saddle.
I'm also a fan of team leaders using their own initiative to instruct their team members if they feel the raid leader is slow on the calls.
Quote:A question - during the Hami phase, couldn't the Tanks redistribute EoE then? It might be hard on the 75% bloom, as it comes fast, but might work for the others. -
OK, the Tanker Tuesday folks had an oopsie with their Justice celebrity appearance and they will be here on the 12th, meaning first red raid would be the following Tuesday.
Also, blue raid tonight per the schedule. -
I'm for the no-retreat style. My only suggestion to you, Arwen, is a different timing on your buffs and tanks out cues while in the goo.
Also, while I disagree with NM on on there being a granite/no-granite tank divide, I agree that his point regarding EoEs is very apt. -
Wait, the 12th and not yesterday?

Quote:Communities, just as life, are in a state of constant change. To deny that is to deny the possibility of growth or atrophy.Understandably, it's hard to have a conversation about a lack of worthwhile communication on a video game community when the person who posits the question isn't going to read the responses, but all the same... It's not just Justice forum, and you're not the only one feeling that way lately.
Some adapt, some do not. There's no inherent judgement in that fact. -

Quote:Beretta 93R and Glock 19 are both 9mm.There are a few fully automatic pistols, but I can't recall any of their names offhand. I do know the full auto-pistol the Joker used in The Dark Knight is a real gun.
I don't think they come much bigger than a .380 though.
But yeah, bigger than 9mm and you can forget about control. (arguably even at 9mm) -
Notes:
I sorta see Arwen's raids as being the "advanced" method of raiding, but I'd like to have some standard ones in the mix, both for new raiders and new leaders. An argument could be made to just have them all one or the other to reduce confusion.
Right now, I have two concerns with the marklars (aside from rustiness) - EoEs, but we'll be farming for those on Sundays as needed. The other worry is hami aggro - in the past we've either had enough MMs or 2 or 3 solid stone broots. After so long, with people leaving, transferring, etc. I honestly don't know what we have.
Also, I'd be happy for other people to step up and lead - there's no way I'll keep running three a week forever. -
Ok guys, based on feedback, here's the schedule as I see it. Please let me know if there needs to be alterations or if you have feedback. (I have no idea about ship raids at this point, as the holidays have had people doing other stuff).
Monday @ 9 Eastern - Blue Hami Raid, led by Arwen. This is a no retreat (and big props for having you back in the saddle, Arwen)
Tuesday @ 9 Eastern - Red Hami Raid, led by me. This will not be held on the Tanker Tuesday nights. I believe for us they are the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
Wednesday @ 9 Eastern - Blue Hami Raid, led by me. Normal, retreat raid.
Thursday @ 8 Eastern - Blue Hami Raid, led by me. Normal, retreat raid.
@ 10 Eastern - RWZ Ship Raid, led by Valkyth Arx
Friday @ 6 Eastern - Blue EoE farming, led by Arwen. -
Some are still team-teleportable. Can't think of any that allow you to tp them otherwise, but I'm sure someone else will step in with better info.

Quote:I wholeheartedly endorse this post.Nothing personal, but I've got to jump on this one. It's one of my pet peeves. There is nothing that is inherently less safe about carrying a modern semi-automatic pistol with a round chambered as opposed to with an empty chamber, provided the operator is properly trained and follows proper safety procedures. Nearly 100% of "accidental" firearms discharges occur because of negligence on the part of the operator. In other words, the idiot with the gun pulled the trigger. All those news stories where somebody was cleaning their gun or some cop was in the bathroom and the gun "just went off"? Pure, complete, unadulterated BS.
Modern handguns are almost without exception all "drop safe", meaning that the gun cannot fire without the trigger being pulled, due to passive mechanical safety devices built into the design of the firearm. Long-guns such as rifles and shotguns are a different story, and it is generally a good idea to store or carry them with an empty chamber until it is necessary to use them.
Considering this is a thread about firearms, I think this is an excellent point to bring up firearms safety. There are four simple & easy to remember firearms safety rules. If every gun owner (including police and the military) followed these basic rules 100% of the time, no one would ever get injured or killed with a firearm accidentally.
1. All guns are always loaded. There is no such thing as an unloaded gun!
2. Never let the muzzle of a firearm point at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target AND you have made the decision to fire.
4. Know what your target is and what is beyond it.
Glock even did an test where they took one of their pistols with a primed shell (no power and no bullet, just a primer) and dropped it from the drop of their building, repeatedly. It never fired the primer.
