Yeah, it is true that zombies generally rewquire more watching then say bots. First of all they are great at chasing runners into new spawns, not a problem for any decent MM unless the fight is already going south. Second alot of Necro MM's prefer to get thier tier 1&2 pets into melee after the first ranged attack, me included, so there is some extra management there.
But i would instead say its a wery good set for new players since it forces you to actively control your pets all the time rather then like many botter "attack then stand and watch" kinda game style. This means you lear to control your pets right from the start. -

Oh, is it really necessary to have a tanking discussion in the MM forums?

Ehh where else whould we discuss it? The Tankermind is a proven concept and has been around for a while.

If we are talking about which combination will be standing last FF secondary will certainly be one of the best, but that's only if we count 'seconds survived' and not total efficiency (which could perhaps be measured in something like 'xp survived'). In terms or the latter /poison and /dark are the best (with one being better than the other depending on the situation at hand) and either zombies or thugs would be a nice match for tanking purposes.

Dont see your point to be honest, ofc we assume that the mastermind would survive the battle... But each set have their strong points.
Thanks for all the advice guys! Think im gonna go for a bots/traps just to get away from bots/ff :P
That with all defence bonus i can get my hands on, patron shield ofc, heal self and provoke should work great. Gonna sit down and see if i can work in tough and waeve in the build... Or stamina... or hasten... decisions decisions... -
Hey all, i have i 50 Necro/Poison MM and since i have had much more fun playing him then anything else i was planning on making a new mastermind. This time i was thinking about trying to build a real tough "Tankermind", a mastermind that can tank. With my Necro/Poison i feel i am lacking in that department since my 3rd pet is a ranged crowd controller, and my zombies and to some extent my knights die a bit to easy. Have killed one or two AV's solo but guess all MM's can do that.
Now with tanking in mind, (solo, team, PvE, PvP, against big groups, against AV's, all of it), what combination do you think would be able to take the most damage before face planting? Im thinking Thugs with either /poison or /forcefield but not sure, the traps poison trap looks great aswell.
Bots/FF are i classic i suppose due to the stacked forcefields, but a bit to FotM so hope you will all say its something else :P -
Its your blast power, how different can it be? Besides, many MM's dont even pick the blast, i picked mine at 49.
Personally i want my brute to have ae heal. And blizzard looks cool, i want that aswell! And debuffs are nice so why cant i pick some of them? Of course buffs are awesome for brutes so gimme speed bost plz.
See the problem? MM's are already awesome soloers and a really top notch AT, if they add some serious personal firepower it will just get to damn good. MM is a petclass so the main focus, and biggest difference, are the pets.
Melee MM sounds cool tho, just add energy melee as a secondary and let the fun begin! -
Nice one! Also soloed him on relentless with my Necro/Poison, had a few zombie deaths if i remember correctly and it took a long time but was a rather low risk fight. All hail the mighty MM's!

Aight... Thats the problem with great leaders, when they leave things often go south... Thx for the info tho.

Well, guess i will just have to throw out some random broadcasts whenever i want to do some badgehunting, it's one of my favorite things in this game.
Btw. max i remember you from old, what happened to VG Violators? Havent seen any of my old officers around at all... -
Hey all, been offline for a while now but back in the day the chat-channel Union Badgehunters used to be pretty active with ppl putting together teams for badgehunting. Now that im back this channel seem to be totally abandoned, are no one bothering with badges theese days?

Well ofcourse i will have alot of single target attacks aswell. I will have Jacobs Ladder, i know its a small cone but with practice hitting 3 guys is possible. Chain induction is an form of AoE, i know the "jump" damage cant be increased so i dont know how useful it is. Thunder Clap do no damage but is good damage mitigation when faced with enemies everywhere. Thunder Strike is a high damage attack with a small AoE part and a chance to disorient mobs around you. And then with Lightning Rod as a final power (anyone know what the new recharge is yet?) i will be more AoE focused then most brutes.
And lets not forget the damage aura that either /Elec or /DA brings.
The only powers without _some_ kind of AoE effect are Charged Brawl, Havoc punch and Build up. I am doing this build mostly for concept reasons and i dont have any illusions about being the badest badass out there, if i find out it wont work ill retire him. Still gonna give it a shot first
Edit: And PPP brings out a few AoE powers awell. -
Ok, have decided to roll a Elec/ brute when I7 goes live. Want to go for almost a pure AoE-build and see how it turns out. The problem is i cant decide between Dark Armor or Electric Armor as my secondary. I have no real experience playing a brute but at first glance /DA looks more AoE focused but /Elec looks more solid and overall more balanced. I do prefer Leaping as travel power so i can easily pick up Acrobatics to get KB resist, and Dark Regeneration looks alot better then Aid self.
/Elec also looks better PvP, not that i'm gonna focus on PvP but it would be nice to pull my load in team PvP.
Apart from general help i got some questions:
1) /Elec has a drain end power, will my End be gimped with /DA? Belive most AoE attacks costs a little more end then usual.
2) Lightning Field VS Death shroud? I hear Lightning Field do exelent damge, how do it compare to Death Shroud?
3) /Elec gives added offense with Lightning Reflexes and general ownage with Power Surge, will Cloak of Fear or Opressive Gloom make a difference in a big fight when surronded by even or a bit higher level minions?
All input are appreciated.
