When teaming i expect everyone to help out, i expect the tanker to get in there first if he can survive it, i expect the blaster not to sit at the door, the scrapper to scrap and yes the Cold defender to buff me.
I dont shout immediatly for shields when they drop (unless im a tank and its mid-fight and im dying because of it), i dont expect to be SB'd by a dead kin nor do i expect heals from an empath at the other end of the map.
But if im teaming with a Cold/TA defender (for example, not intended towards anyone) who only attacks and debuffs i will ask for shields, and frankly i expect him to keep em up most of the time if his team members need them.
The issue goes both ways, i have played a Cold Corruptor for god nows how many hundred hours and a FF defender to 50, it can be annoying when ppl ask for buffs when you are busy with something more important or just cant. But its equally annoying with a FF defender to damn lazy to bubble his team mates unless asked for it.
I see it as a sign of appreciation, you really know your buffs help out when you lag behind a bit and 2 guys run in unbuffed and promptly faceplants.
If a lazy buffer gets poked a bit he usually straighten up, if a buff-begger gets slapped down a bit and told you are awake and doing your best he usually shuts up. But Numptys are everywhere.

First lvl 50 IO: +42,4%
Second lvl 50 IO: +40,92% (+42,4 = 83,32%)
Third lvl 50 IO: +15,76% (+83,32 = 99,08%)
So third IO help, but not nearly enough as the first two. Is it worth it? thats up to you, i 3-slot some powers and 2-slot some. -
My dark tanker, Enkar Gholan, have been 50 for a while now so i figured i would share some thoughts on this combo.
First of all: i love playing him! Have tried other tankers in the past but found none of them to my liking. I find the survivability top notch with tough/weave up and running and my heal filling me up when needed. I have tanked my way trough Preatorian arc, LGTF, ITF all on top diff with no problems. I'm not like a stoner that never dies unless he falls asleep on the KB, but if i keep my wits about me i can grab all the agro in the world and live trough it.
I can compete with the best when it comes to grabbing agro, two taunt auras (3 if i respec into CoF) and some nice AoE attacks from fire and the epic pool. I find the damage... impressive for a tanker. Mostly because of fire being high damage and nice AoE. Dark helps with crowd control and the damage aura is a nice bonus.
Drawbacks? Plenty... Biggest was the end issue, but after spending 500 mil I'm happy to report its no longer an issue! I'm running more toggles than i can count on both hands and i got hasten on auto, still only in risk of running out if i really really have to spam my self heal while hasten happen to be crashing.
Knockback, no knockback protection in the armor set, this really sucks. I got one KB prot IO now and i would really like to have one more in there since Fake nemesis like knocking me about a bit to much. This is bad for a toon with a ton of toggles where you really want to have 2 EndRdx in most of them and 3 DmgResist, tight build oh yeah.
Knockback turn two! Death to M80 grenades, Solar flares, and whatever other "knock everything into every direction possible"-powers out there. You rely on having mobs in close range to you. OG/COF will neutralize all minions, -ToHit debuff the rest, you will AoE all around you and biggest part: Your heal is PbAoE. I'm usually to polite to complain, but i think dark dark thoughts in some teams...
Energy resist. This can huuuuuuuurt! I sometimes feel this hole in the set is to big, other times i don't notice it. Not much to do about it. I have tanked LGTF on highest diff, its manageable.
Tanking AV's: I have tanked plenty of AV's and so far only found two i had really big problems with (cant remember what the team setups was). First was the Manticore Automaton in a RWZ mish, he hit me with some damn teleport arrow for... way way to much damage.
Second was, sadly, Lord Recluse in STF. Had a nice team with a Empath and a Cold Defender giving me some sweet buffs. Still. Knocking me back to easy, following up with energy attack (ouch), summoning like crazy, and in the end his summons stacking stuns on me and detoggling me. We gave it 3 tries before i stepped aside and let the stone tanker do it (yes the team was nice enough to let me try as a dark tanker even with stoner on the team).
Final thoughts: I like my Dark/Fire a lot, he ain't the best tanker for every situation but he usually gets the job done and he is really fun to play.
Other combos i have considered: Dark/Ice, maybe the most common one and looks to be a nice control tank.
Dark/Stone i might one day create a new tank and if so this would be it. The combination OG+Fault on every mob just looks so sweet... -
Most 50 brutes seem to be WP now yeah, easymode set.
I got a level 50 /Elec brute in retirement now, cant say i suffered to bad from no self heal, only set i ever felt inferior to was... WP. -

Would need to make this count when you are malefactored/exemplared down aswell or most toons will never get this. At least i dont think to many of mine spent 24hours as a lk before they hit 59. -
Nice changes to Khelds and toggles, looks like really powerful changes.
rather underwhelming changes to Energy Aura tho... -
Not sure about your SG rules but alot of SG's have moved over to require SG mode all the time since you still earn inf.
I have proposed this myself to the SG im in but so far the leaders have decided to just keep it at a minimum amount earnt each month.
To answer you, No its not bad form if it was in the rules. If you aint happy with how a SG is run join another one or create your own. -
Pause button would have to pause everything, chat, movement everything. Cant see that happening.
You get a warning before you pick a timed mish, assuming you bother to read the mish description as BlueRabbit said.
On top of that there is the option to auto-complete the mish. -
Im not sure if this have been suggested or maybe its already in even but wanted to shine a light in this most important issue.
During Halloween we will be battling hordes of zombies, you hardly expect us to do this with out a shotgun do you? We all know the only proper way of dealing with zombies is a shotgun blast to the chest. Give us a temp shotgun power for the duration of the event or we are doomed! -

Loads of hard work and flashbacking (not my me obviously, im a lazy *******) finally paid off!

Some evidence to suggest that they shouldn't work if the power is unavailable, so don't get used to it, it could be a bug.

I would be curious what evidence/ridiculos rumor that might be.
Afaik they are WAI and have been for a long time. -
Nice guide, I play an Ice Corruptor not a Blaster but find myself agreeing with almost everything.

I have been a long standing mamber in the SG for a while and when i had lots of time i was an officer, twice i have taken breaks. Both times i have asked Von to kick all my toons since i wont be playing them. Several times i myself kicked inactive players.
Thing is, when i got back, and when some of thoose inactive players got back they got in touch with me or an other officer and got an invite back to the SG. Its not like its permanent or anything.
If anyone gets kicked for being inactive its because well, you are inactive. If he then comes back and are active again he is ofc invited back to the SG. Members leaving (announced or not) and returning are a everyday happening. We kick because there is often someone active wanting a new alt/main into the SG.
We also have a "filler" SG for thoose toons that you want to keep somewhat in the SG but only play every other month if that.
All in all, we try to do everything we can to keep the SG as active and a fun place to be as possible. If players who sometimes are inactive cant deal with being kicked until they are back (i dont think we have ever denied anyone re-entry to the SG) they can post on our forums, here or send an officer an email/PM ingame or normal wice. -
A note on this from when i spawned him last time, we killed demons while the sun was up and yet he did not spawn (or we missed him, elusive fella) first night. Most stuck around for another go and after another day (ingame ofc) of killing demons he spawned and died easily enough.
That time we had alot of ppl showing up so i doubt we killed to few the first time around... -
I love Dark melee, got a 50 DM/Elec Buzzsaw brute (Blitzkrieg Commando) and it is the most fun toon i have ever played. It took a lot of levels and cash for the whole "buzzsaw" to get going but now he is incredibly fun to play. Very fast recharging attacks, Power sink to remove all end problems, Soul drain + Ball lightning to add some AoE damage, 2 damage procs in each attack and Siphon Life to get some healing in there. Its so much fun to play, not always the best brute around but never far from.
Skipped both Shadow maul (3 sec rooted?! no thx) and Midnights grasp and never regretted it. -
Awesome. Just awesome. Next up is #1 and #2 on server eh?
-
Tried both Fire and Ice, and in my opinion Ice is far better solo. The three fast blasts and two single target holds make it perfect solo. Fire can offer better AoE damage in teams but have no way to lock down annoying mobs, depending on your secondary im sure Fire can be great solo but you need something to take nullifiers etc out of combat right away. Mezzes are always a big problem (atleast at higher levels) for a solo Corr, no matter how much damage you do if you are stunned that can mean game over right away.

I might be totally wrong here but i seem to recall that fenders debuffs are only unresitable in PvP? And event then just a few not all their debuffs?
For PvP i agree with most of what you say, having gone up against a few defenders with my corr and finding not only do they debuff me more than i do they also do higher damage.
For PvE the whole discussion is kinda pointless since you cant roll a defender villain side, and corruptors are the best AT to have in any team. Even in RWZ teams corruptors seem to do way better than fenders. -
That temp power is purely GFX and there for the lore, it does not actually do anything. Lore wise, it should be impossible to kill Honoree without it, but it does not actualy do anything.
Gonna try to see if i can dig up the Dev post confirming this... But you could always try it out yourself, done it dozens of times both with and without the aura, no difference. -
Welcome to the game!
As for a wery active SG The dirty/clea Hand Prints are a wery active bunch. We aint that into PvP and have a mixed bunch of ppl in the SG, most of the active ones are on the older side
Currently 2nd on union for dirties in prestige and think cleans are about to break into top 20.
On most weekdays we probarly have around 15-20 ppl on, spread over both hero and villain side that is. We do lots of events and have a few regular events running each week for thoose who wants to join. The one thing where we differ from your description is regarding ranks i guess, with a big SG we find ranks are needed to bring some order into the chaos :P
As said before there are a few other good active SG's out there aswell (Evil, the Horde, Court of Blood Countess, Dark lord of underworld to mention a few) so have a look around is my advice, and check out our freshly started forum on http://handprints.phpbbhosts.co.uk/index.php -
Have to agree, best patron for a DB/WP is... none.
Some brutes have loose enough build to fit a few patron powers in there and be really useful, DB/WP usually dont.
