I have a Skulls arc with voodoo. I made all the characters so it goes 1-50, and the booster has great hats and such for voodoo.
Are we going to get the magic booster? -
Wow, I really like that. I think I'm going to use it.
-
well it is about skull masks and zombies.
I want a smattering of real terms to add flavor. I am not planning on real voodoo. -
thanks - I'm trying to be accurate. Mambo.
any sites you can point to with better info? Most sites are hoodoo. -
okay, mission 1
the situation should be clear in the text. Note that the contact is telling the truth - this is not a setup. My main issue is that it doesn't sound like a voodoo priestess. It sounds like introductory text. I want her to have style. She is the Hequat contact from the Arachnos (she looks awesome).

Be not afraid $name. I am Bone Caster, a hougan of the religion you call Voodoo.
As a hougan I use my magic power for good. Just as you use $origin. But I have come to Paragon City to track down a powerful bocor named Grave Dancer. He uses the power of Voodoo for evil.
He has aligned himself with a cult in this city called the Skulls. He has initiated many of the Skulls into the power of Voodoo.
The Skulls have unleashed a pack of ghouls onto the streets to capture innocents to turn into zombies. You must go save them.

My prayers go with you. Believe in yourself and you will not fail. -
yes, if an arc is dev choice it is no longer yours as such and opens up that slot. You can only have 1 dev choice arc.

I am finishing up my arc. I have the story, missions, etc.
But my text is a bit flat. I just don't have the knack for the dialog. I'm trying to do horror and need my contact to speak like a voodoo priestess, some evil sorceror chants, and I want horror style shock and fear in my rescue victims.
Anyone good at dialog want to help punch up my text? -
defensive powers are huge.
if you want a boss who fights well and is tough - typically use dominator assaults for attacks, and a defensive set.
It is usually more interesting to have the lt's be the buffers, debuffers and healers and have the bosses be tough. -
whichever one you have it on that isn't working as you desire - you probably want the other one.
-
do they have a defensive powerset?
without a defensive powerset (dark armor, willpower, etc) they will be a squishy -
At least one custom critter was dropped from a group.
I added it back and it is now up to 90%.
I can't be sure another wasn't dropped as well. -
I didn't have any local files. And the custom critters seem to be there.
-
the Mercy landing pad with a few Arachnos fliers is the only one I can think of.
-
I made an arc. I was scraping for space at 98% full. I published the arc.
My computer died. I just re-installed and saved a local file from the published arc. Now it is 74% full.
Anyone else saved a published arc and had the size of the file shrink dramatically? -
I publish mine to test
so when I am working on it I probably publish and unpublish it every 10-15 minutes or so.
not all numbers are still published arcs -
parody is protected
you can copy plots - copying names of characters isn't good -
even after you exit - some dev missions trigger an ambush.
Ambushes are ambushes - the point is usually to attack you when you aren't expecting it. -
you get more tickets for later missions in an arc
so if you are doing longer arcs you get more tickets - may make a big difference -
I found a way to do it, but I don't remember how.
Are you using the Custom Groups tab, or doing it through an arc?
There are tabs for local arcs, published arcs, custom creatures, and custom groups. -
MA is basically a massive story contest.
If you did a themed contest - re-write the Positron TF, or do a single mission of Trolls - that makes sense.
But a general story arc contest is basically redundant. -
if you want a tougher boss - add an ally
an ally makes a huge difference to a soloer and not much difference to a team, so it works nicely to allow tougher bosses. -
My computer died. So I don't have the local files for my arc.
Can I get back the published version?
Or do I have to recreate it from scratch? -
on outdoor maps I've found that unaware text often gets said when you enter the mission. Every spawn everywhere on the map seems to say it as soon as you enter.
