  1. I've noticed Nebel Ubermenschen Force appears in a few arcs. And with a name like that it can't be a coincidence.
  2. Maybe limit it to what you have done in the past week or two - not stuff you do on rare occasions, or did once, but in the next couple of weeks what content will you actually do?

iTrials, sewers, radio missions, bank missions, tf's, sf's, DFB, first ward, Praetoria start, Atlas start, old contacts, zone storylines (striga, hollows, etc), tips

I log in and try to find a team. I almost never have time to commit to a tf, so I just grab a team doing radio missions or whatever. I do a tf if I have a couple of hours to commit. If it is off hours or I have a very short time I run tip missions.

so for me: radio missions, tips, task forces
  3. lvl 26, always been a hero. Done 10 hero tips, no morality

Went to Bloody Bay for the first time, the contact thanks me for my help and I can talk about him or the store but not get missions.

can you not get missions if you are above the level of the zone?

and can I get hyperstealth from a different pvp zone?

And Western isn't a genre, it is a setting. And superheroes isn't a genre, it is a type of character which really has no meaning since many superheroes have no superpowers, others do not have superhero names and outfits.

Really, there are no such things as genres.

Also, we have no way of really knowing if anything exists except in our own mind since all we have are unreliable senses to tell us about the world (or so we think).

But it is usually convenient to use social conventions of pretending the world really exists, that genres exist, etc when having discussions with others.
  7. great, so you have one aoe that will aggro a bunch of enemies unless someone has them taunted. It won't kill them, just make them angry.

Yes, "if you know what you are doing" is a great line which allows for anything.

Maybe it is just me, but I tend to assume that someone asking for advice and saying "Dominators are something I've always struggled with" does not know what they are doing.

    YMMV
  8. if Impact applied to any knockback/knock up you did it would have its uses

you could combine grav with energy at least

or you could give impact a big domination bonus. It wouldn't be damage but it would be something for doms
  9. Solo:
dominator sets have an aoe control that you can use every fight (might need 3 recharges to do it). Ice slick, earthquake, seeds of confusion, etc. Solo you open with that for some control. You also have a single target hold, use that on a particularly obnoxious foe. Then beat them down fast.

The key with solo is to get control first, then beat them down. You can't heal, so you want to avoid getting hit.

    Team:
dominator is more of a straight controller in a team. Use your aoe controls to hinder your foes, single target hold an important foe. Use single target attacks to help clean up. Unless you are playing with a tanker, your AoE attacks are probably a trap. Not enough damage to swing the battle but enough to make you a target.
  10. I like Joan of Arkansas

    my favorites:

Tomb Fisted Kid - murdered sheriff in the old west (Doug Graves), now an undead cowboy. Has cowboy costume but skull head. Dark/dark - his fists have the touch of the grave.

Shackled Soul - elec/elec. A demon summoned in Diable in CoV, but captured by the Legacy Chain who bound him with chains. He is prevented from hurting innocents, so in his desire to harm things he is forced to attack villains

Admiral Abyssal - earth/earth dom - his powers are tinted yellow and blue. He wears an old fashioned diving suit. He was a coral researcher who discovered how to cause rapid growth in corals. Now he uses his good friends the corals to fight crime.
  11. sort of the opposite for me.

A team was gathering, I was waiting at the door with another guy. We went in, and a patrol walked up to the door inside and attacked us. Great mob of foes, 2 of us, lvl 20ish.

I said run, he said "why"
ice controller - he turned on arctic air, dropped an ice slick, not sure what else. And we stood there untouched while the rest of the team loaded in and we took out the spawn.

    25% Higher Base HP

I am just an unfrozen caveman, your world is strange and confusing to me. But even I know that if two AT's have the same caps for Def and Res then they are "capable" of achieving the same level of Def and Res.

Now Tankers do have a higher max HP, but they are not guaranteed to reach it.

So a brute can be buffed to having the same Def, Res, and HP as a tanker. They are capable of withstanding damage as a Tanker. They may not do so in all cases, but they are capable of it.

What is theoretically possible or even what is done by a few optimized characters should not be the basis for balance or game changes.

Have you tried the organic shoulders colored green? They twist around your arms like snakes
  15. 3 things that make for good team content
and 3 things that good team content does not have

Arbitrarily limiting it to 3 of each so that you choose important ones rather than a laundry list of everything you can think of. Of course there are more, but a big list becomes meaningless.

    Have
    1. Variety of foes. This should be in the mission and between missions. CoT at some levels each spawn feels like a different group. Warriors every spawn is basically the same. A series of warrior missions is nap time.

    2. Variety of map areas. Both between missions and in the mission. The terrain makes a big difference in a fight and variety is needed.

    3. Elite Bosses or AV's. Bosses show up almost every spawn in a team and just become another speedbump. You often have no idea you took out the named guy at the end because the fight was no harder or different than any other.

    Not Have
    1. Non-combat missions. Teams break up fast when the leader has to do some running around while you wait.

    2. Stacking de-buffs. When a spawn has 12 guys that can put on -rech the game slows to a crawl, or -to hit, or other debuffs. Given the number of foes in a large team stacking debuffs can quickly become stupid.

    3. Allies. Allies are great in solo missions to change things up. In teams they die really fast or make you move really slowly (or the team splits). And they don't add much when you already have a bunch of characters together.
  16. I think why the devs produce costume parts in a way players do not like is that the devs produce costume sets but players want costume pieces.

Do you use costume sets or costume pieces?
Do you have any characters that use all of our most of a costume set?
Do you tend to use costume pieces for what they are designed/named to be or just for the look?

I use costume pieces instead of sets, but I do usually use them as designed. I use armor as armor, that sort of thing.

Because I mix sets, I do not compare how complete a set is. What I want is unique pieces we do not have already, not variations on things we already have.

I understand that the devs package these things as a costume set to sell it, but I would prefer they instead do a themed accessory pack with just the cool bits.

Do you want full costume sets or select costume pieces?
  17. [*]Real eye masks, not painted on.
It is a computer game, there cannot be real eye masks, just the pixel fiction of one
[*]Symbol options on belt buckles, backs, and capes, not just on chests.
this I can see as superhero
[*]Grapple-hook gun emote (I know the real thing isn't feasible, but this would be good enough followed by a super leap).
this is pulp, not superhero. Yes there is a pulp hero who is well known and pretends to be a superhero, but this is pulp
    [*]More bracelets, arm bands.
There are about 6 I think for men, more for women. How many do you need?
[*]More "floaty bit auras", like crystal shards, or metallic spheres, or sea-horses, or cubes, floating around your character.
we have a bunch of auras. I don't really recall any superheroes with floating things that cannot be covered by existing auras
[*]Working holsters, quivers, sheaths (hip, thigh, boot).
This is not superhero. This is pulp, fantasy, etc.
    [*]Sleeker, more sophisticated power armor.
You can have skintight powered armor, how much sleeker can it get than that?
[*]Chest and eye blasts for ranged power sets, not just hand blasts.
I would rather say consistent blast origins. All eye, all hand, all mouth. Not random firing for each power
[*]Linked costume emotes with animated transitions (hoods pulled back, helmets removed/opened, power armor assembled over body).
nice but total second long fluff
[*]Hoverboards inspired by the modern comic era.
I must not know the modern comic era. How many hoverboards are there?
[*]Customizable "Mood" stances to replace default standing idle stances, more reflective of your character's personality (heroic, flirty, arrogant, relaxed, studious).
It would be nice to set your default stance to an existing emote, but they pretty much have all the emotes you need.

without going through each of JB's items I generally like his list. I especially want talking apes and stretching powers

    I like this.

step 1: player discovers some lore in game after 7 years and is surprised by the lore
step 2: player posts the lore on the forums
step 3: player claims that the lore they were surprised to discover in game is not a spoiler

It's still not enticing me. iTrials are still anathema to me, so tough luck.
this is not locking costume parts behind incarnate content

this is incarnate content having a themed drop

  23. I'm confused.

Is there some content that a defender can debuff that a corr cannot?
Or that a controller can control but dominator cannot?

There is "can" and there is "better"

I find that the boards are full of arguments about a small fraction of the player base and what is theoretically possible, and requests to change the game for everyone to cater that small group.

Any argument involving IO sets is invalid unless your solution is changing IO sets

I played back with godmode tankers. Literally my rad/rad defender friend was one shot by a boss that I tanked easily plus the rest of the spawn. Tankers were stupid back then compared to everyone else.

    Brutes should be lesser tankers.

I absolutely agree that the AT selection screens should be a guideline for what players can expect from the AT's. Look at the survivability for Tankers and Brutes - tankers is higher. brute damage is higher. Brutes should have lower def/res, the screens do not lie.

Done. There is nothing else to do in First Ward unless you just adore the repeatable missions from the various alignment contacts or just hang around for the day job badges, which, you know you log out for. It really needs like a Taskforce or a safeguard/mayhem style mission for a temp power or some other zone event that offers worthwhile rewards. As it stands, First Ward is just a tourist destination, you visit once, snap some photos to say you've been and them leave it behind.

I think if they really want to produce new zones as 'pay for' content, they really need to have them offer something more than just a unique visual experience.
Actually I think if they want to make pay for content the best thing for them to do would be to provide temp powers in the content. And badges of course.

Striga has Wedding Ring, Wolf Whistle, and holy shotgun. Wolf Whistle has few uses, holy shotgun is situational. But Wedding Ring is great for tankers and brutes.

Put in a Shivan like temp power that you can get repeatedly and I think you could have a popular area even if it is soloed - in fact better if soloed.
