if he just wants those powers he can already have them.

the trick of course being your "token afterthoughts"

    so I assume you mean:
has ranged damage like a blaster
    melee damage like a scrapper
    and defenses like a scrapper

and presumably the answer is you will never have 3 powersets worth of power

whereas of course you can in game make a character that has the powers already.
  3. what is this thread complaining about?
  4. the drop rate is not ridiculous if people used them. People just do not know how good they are. Everyone can have an AoE stun grenade.

I want to see a super team where everyone has the leadership pool and temporary powers and only uses those.
  5. Old Man's War is great
    Thrawn books are good

    Ringworld series is good
Rendezvous with Rama is good (so is the sequel but the 3rd book is terrible)

Larry Niven and David Pournelle joint books are amazing:
Lucifer's Hammer, The Mote in God's Eye, Footfall

    almost anything by Isaac Asimov
particularly the Foundation series, the R Daniel Oliva detective stories (The Caves of Steel)

    Starship Troopers
    The Forever War
  6. I try to make a revolver for my dark/dark cowboy each time I remake him so he has a pistol. I never use it other than for show.

I use the grenade types on some characters: invuln tanker (he gets a to hit bonus), earth dominator (after quicksand debuffs their def).

I do wish you could make a stack of them at once and store up the charges. I just assume you can't.
  7. I think the whole series of linked arcs just doesn't really work

the first arc is basically unrelated to the others and built up zero momentum

while the other ones are interesting, they are a series of dramatic failures for the heroes that make me not want do the others and see how stupid and inept the Phalanx is and be dragged into their miserable lives.

    I know I haven't done SSA6, I am not sure if I did 5.

They really strike me as having the Wheel of Time problem - instead of being a coherent story they are just an excuse for putting out a lot of content. I read the first book of Game of Thrones and gave up on the series for the same reason.

Epic does not just mean long.

they already have melee healers and buffers/debuffs among the Cimmerorans

It would make a decent paladin type as well with armor and a sword

  11. it is annoying that police detectives get Hawaiian shirts and we do not

you can't make a proper Magma PI without a Hawaiian shirt (a blue bulky shirt with red cheetah print kind of works)

Not really. Defenders are built assuming you get buffs/debuffs to go with the ranged attacks, but that doesn't mean blasters don't work without them.

a thugs/katana would have the character doing a lot of damage. Use the thugs in bodyguard mode for your protection
  15. there are two things to thing of for new AT's: function combos (i.e. melee/defense) and inherent (i.e. crits vs fury).

the main one I'd like to see is Pets/Control (controller MM instead of defender MM)
  16. actually my daughter got me the shirt and she's never seen BBT

at work I'm known for wearing Hawaiian shirts
  17. got the shirt for my birthday

now I'm tempted to wear it to work with sweatpants and see who notices

I definitely agree. The game should not be made more complicated as if being complicated were inherently a good thing. Simple AT's and complicated AT's may be for different players. You don't have to like every AT, just one of them.

    Diversity is good.

  20. Much shorter tutorial than the last one. It is fairly epic. You get to run around by major heroes, fight a giant shivan. It is pretty darn cool.

But having run it a few dozen times, I just skip it now. I'm always a bit torn as to whether or not to do it, but I skip it.
  21. my fire/dark tanker has both

each is a pbaoe that does some damage to the foes and restores END to me.
the amount of END restored per foe is huge, no need to increase it.
So I'm wondering else I should I slot them for.

dark consumption can take pbaoe, END mod, and taunt
consume can take pbaoe and END mod

they have 3 minute recharges so I can't spam them, but it seems silly to have a couple of AoE's with max 10 targets go to waste.
  22. nice interview.

I liked the statesman video. I haven't done the arc so I don't know how much is stuff you made up vs a cut scene. I get the impression it is basically all you.
  23. I would assume this is another free things VIPs get by buying in the store with the free points they get.
