Quote:what is the end mod slotting on the static field and aura? This confused me a bit so I hopped on my elec/psi who does not have agility yet and cages is not slotted for end mod.
Even level spawn, field, aura, cages. Total time to zero endurance, about 8 seconds. I of course was taking no damage during this.
Not sure how much faster you want.
I have to say I'm not really worried about minions - the static field keeps them down with no issue. It is only bosses+ that I really care about -
Quote:Dr Doom must drive you nuts thenDon't even get me started on that. I prefer to just enjoy the calibre of the writing of the Aaron Thierry arc and ignore the stupidity of the whole Arachnos invading Paragon City part of the story. When the developers write dumb stories because "Hey, it's comic books and comic book villains do that!" and players defend it because "Hey, it's comic book land and we shouldn't have expectations that our game would exceed the lowest levels of schlocky comic book plotting!" then there really isn't much you can say about it beyond /facepalm.

Quote:you are correct, of courseFirst, I believe you're looking for the word "damning" unless you sought to make a play on words since you are referencing the Hollows and the Red River Dam has such a prominent part to play in that story line.
One thing I noted was that you don't. You don't go to the far side of the Hollows in the hills, or south by the other entrance. I'm not sure if the floating rocks and stuff are still there but you never go there. Now you go to the abandoned buildings, then a tiny bit into the gulch and red river. -
I've played elec/psi dominator up to 30. I never play high level characters, so I only care about the experience to maybe 40.
elec/psi just did not sap all that much. Psi only helped with drain psyche, and that was up only every minute. So foes just did not drain very quickly.
would elec/elect drain their END noticably faster?
I like the drain psyche to take down AV's and GM's, so I hate to give that up -
I deleted all of my characters and started a new one. I had done a bunch of teaming, then done a bunch of AE arcs (you can see the ones I liked in my list of arcs by level http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=287853). So I decided to do some solo play of old content. Did Habashy to level 5 then hit the Hollows.
I decided to call for others when I got to FF. Did a few missions. Another player started a team so I joined that - and had to quit right before they did FF. I did FF myself the next day. Joined another Hollows team for 1 mission (then it disbanded). And finished the missions this morning with Atta.
Awhile back I had posted about Hollows having a story and some hater had posted that the Hollows was terrible and had no story. Well it turns out they weren't a hater, they were right.
Hollows has silly street hunts (you hunt 10 trolls at least 3 times). Kill alls. Really long grinding missions. Very little story, very few details.
The new content is so much better. I am sad that I skipped the other Atlas content to do the Hollows. I look forward to going back to Steel and doing the new arcs there. Then Talos and the newish content there.
My nostalgia for old content is slain at this point. There is a reason to hide it and focus on the new. -
I would go with a dark/psi dominator
she has evil thoughts which manifest as darkness and can even possess people. She lashes out with her pain. And ultimately she summons her own dark wolf into reality -
Quote:There is the reverse of this. A one mission arc about saving heroic boxes before they are destroyed. It's funny. The world has been taken over by boxes. And a Freakshow boss.Destroy them all and click the glowie to save humanity!
Level: 20+ (1-54), ID#: 134741, Name: They HATE those boxes -
Tomb Fisted Kid
Marshal Doug Graves was gunned down in 1881 in Dakota. Brought back from the dead by dark magic being used in Paragon City - could be the Skulls or the Banished Pantheon. He is a skull that animates his clothes with dark energy.
played by Hugo Weaving -
Revenge of the 90's Gritty and Stupid Heroes
1. Manticore decides to not allow anyone else to protect Statesman's daughter at a meeting of villains. She is killed of course.
2. They then decide to only have Ms. Liberty protect a hero doing a mental probe on a mind controlling villain. The hero is possessed of course.
3. Then kill off the possessed hero
4. Then kill off statesman -
Quote:it used to not do muchIt gets spammed because it is amazingly effective. Made moreso by a good tank... just because some players don't understand its value doesn't mean it doesn't do much
then containment made it important for controllers
then proc enhancements made it great for everyone
but unless you read the boards, you probably don't know that they are being spammed for the procs -
I don't think my question is coming across.
People are focused on how you play, which is not my question. My question is how you experience the game.
Take the ITF. You can fly to the end and defeat Romulus first. I suspect that the devs planned for you to make your way along the valley facing an epic battle of others first. I further suspect that doing it the way the devs intended gives it a much more epic feel than just flying to the end.
Likewise in the Sutter TF Duray teleports around a bunch. If you somehow managed to hold him so he could not, you would not experience that element of the mission.
This is not a question of cheating or of playing wrong.
It is a question of whether you get the "proper" experience from playing the game. -
I was playing some AE missions with a dominator. I realized that since I permaheld the final boss I never found out what powers they had. It might matter, it might not.
I ran some as a stalker and could ninja the mission - which gives a very different feel.
I'm not sure what AT would really get the "right" experience in the game. Melees with mezz resistance ignore that aspect. Masterminds can have a very different experience with their pets being attacked. I've run with many ranged characters who never really saw an AV or other special character because I'm so far back.
It matters more so in story arcs and solo. Do you feel your character is experiencing the game "right" or perhaps "fully" and do you care?
I care to some extent. My ill/rad controller was so hands off and so unaffected by foes (they all just went after phantom army) that I barely felt like I was playing the game. But that's really a pet thing. As long as my character is holding them, blasting them, or whatever I figure that's how my character sees the world. -
that's a lot of requests. A laundry list of requests usually means it gets ignored, or they choose what they want.
Try choosing 2 easyish requests that would make the most difference.
I think the number 1 request but probably a lot of work is better placement. As simple as having 4 spots in each map which are fixed placements. Something set to one of those always appears there.
I think the second big thing is more maps, especially custom and unique maps. What we really need are small maps. There are tons of huge maps which make for long and dull missions. We need unique but small maps for the different environments. City streets, croatoa forest. Croatoa farm, small park with trees. -
is it overguard shoulders that are big and bubbly? might make popcorn shoulders

my star system is of course subjective but it comes down to
5: A great arc with both a great story and a lot of interesting elements in the missions.
4: very good arc with either a great story or a lot of interesting elements in the missions. Twinshot arc is a 4.
3: Good arc, the equivalent of Faultline. Good story, some interesting elements in the mission.
2: Radio mission (or a series of them linked by a contact like Striga), most of the original content. You get an intro and conclusion text with a simple story. The mission has one objective.
1: Broken, farm, otherwise terrible
I don't rate down for a few misspellings. A lot of misspellings will drop it down a star. -
M&M is a simpler system than Hero.
You can make M&M as complicated as the base of Hero, but you cannot make Hero as simple as M&M, and you can make Hero ridiculously complicated. -

Quote:Probably have not read any other threads on dark armor in the past 2 years or so.*facepalm* Seriously, have you read ANY other threads about Dark Armor in the past two years or so? (i'm asking partially because i could swear you made a similar comment in a similar DA thread about a year ago, and it was pointed out as being just as wrong then.)
I restarted playing less than a year ago.
It might have been me who posted it, or just another black murky cloud - we all look alike
