"Activate this Persian-type carpet" = "Transform into a black panther"
"with its own golden magic lantern" != presumably there is no such thing for the panther power
"soar across the skies like Aladdin" = "turn invisible to stalk your prey from the shadows"
"It's usable at Level 4." = "usable at Level 4"
"For all characters in your account" = "this power will be unlocked on all characters on your account"
no disclaimer != "When the Panther Stealth Power is active, all powers become disabled and untoggled (although use of one Vanity Pet is allowed)."
So the marketing statements are almost a direct match. Apparently you think soaring across the sky like Aladdin is cooler than turning invisible to stalk your prey from the shadows, but that's not marketing's fault.
And you object to them telling people it detoggles? You want them to have winter hordes of angry customers who buy it and then find out it detoggles and want their money back? -
I can say without fear that anyone on the internet would disagree with me, that among the tip missions are the best missions in the game. And playing the tip missions until you start to repeat, is the most interesting and diverse content in the game.

Quote:I played the game for years before IO's came out.you rarely see free/premium players in the game and all of them who i have met and even hearing from friends who know free/premium players say that that being free/premium player sucks, yes you can level up to 50 and join teams, but what good of a teammate are you when your crummy SOs are barely letting you defeat a small group of con-yellow NPCs? and dont get me started on actual free players who cant join supergroups or send private messeges, you simply can not enjoy this game without putting some cash into it. and therefore no reason to try and hype up F2P if you barely get any freedom.
Simply allowing free players or just premiums players the ability to use IOs wount hurt in any way, but only improve it for everyone.
I probably played for 3 months thinking that Steel was high level.
Free players have a ton of content and things to do and can play for a long time. If you ruin the game for them by convincing them that leveling as fast as you can and playing in godmode is what is fun, then you have ruined the game for them - not F2P. -
reading the OP I assumed that it was a serious compliment. I thought the detail from marketing was excellent. The mentioning of its limitations was very good.
Then at some point I realized that the OP was being sarcastic. I'm not sure where I realized that or why they don't like the marketing.
it is almost enough to make me swear off making bizarre sarcastic rants and posts myself, now that I see how foolish it makes you look. -

The final map in Hess was the coolest map in the game. A giant robot is pretty much pure win.
But SSA1 seemed to be all new custom maps. Praetoria has a bunch. I suspect the incarnate trials have custom maps as well (never been on one).
Is there a new coolest map in the game? -

I have 2 missions. I have played the first one for real and it worked.
I used test mode to skip to the second. Using a cimmeroran map. I have a custom enemy group selected but Cimmerorans spawn.
I do have a boss group that spawns correctly
what am I doing wrong? -
I would swear I ran an AE arc that had this map.
I can find the temple map - you start just outside the cave. But is the map available where you go through the cave? -

People miss the obvious. They complain that he stupidly walked into an obvious trap. The simple truth is that Statesman wanted to die. After his castration he simply saw no reason to live.

I switched from Freedom to Virtue. I was worried that there would be less going on.
As far as I can tell, the extra players on Freedom are farming.
There is very little farming spam on Virtue compared to the massive amount on Freedom.
Virtue often has only 1 Atlas, whereas Freedom seems to always have 3 due to farmers in AE.
teaming is easy on Virtue. -
sure everything has god mode now at level 50+, but MM's invented it. MM's soloing GM's, AVs, pretty much anything. They are one player teams (at least /dark and /traps).
They are also unique to CoX as far as I know - being able to control so many pets with that much control.
I don't play them because I don't like pets. I don't like my controller and doms getting pets, I don't like my crab getting pets. I certainly don't want to play an AT devoted to pets. I want my character to be the one doing the stuff, not using powers through an NPC. Watching my pets win a fight just is not fun for me.
So why aren't you playing a MM? -
step 1: get rid of TO's and DO's
step 2: change SO's to just Enhancements that work for everyone
step 3: rename them what they do - accuracy, etc
they give out SO's in DfB so they obviously are not that worried about balance issues. -
people just don't use the LFG tool
they form a team in /help and then start when they have a team
the tool works fine, players just won't use it -
the best thing would be to redo the task forces
they are done a lot and the old ones really suck, whereas Posi is good
I would much prefer they redo 2 task forces than 1 zone -
I think that's about it redside
There is a Mortimer Kal strike force at level 15 or 20, but they really haven't done much redside since the content there is so much better than blueside already -
I see a lot of thread views, I can only hope that people are actually playing these arcs.
There is a bunch of good stuff out there, and a lot of bad stuff to sift through. -
Quote:faultline, striga, croatoaThe game *desperately* needs new 1-30 content.
Most of the existing content in that range *shipped with the game* and is an absolute embarrassment, even when compared to something like radio missions.
Sutter TF
2 level 15 steel arcs
Keith Nance, Jenny Adair
Roy Cooling
First Ward
there is a lot of content in that range that did not ship with the game, some very new. -
first, I am not tired of CoX and think the market has been great for the game with lots of new stuff.
but let's be realistic - most of the content that people will play lvl 1-50 is old.
Most people play blueside which has the really old and lame content. I don't think this is as much of an issue redside which has better content overall.
Teaming consists primarily of DfB, DiB, radio missions, tips, and task forces.
DfB is fun but running it multiple times gets old
DiB is fun but running it multiple times gets old
Radio missions are great for teams logistically (grab a door mission and go) but are repetitive.
Tips are great missions but there are few of them so they get repetitive fast.
Task forces are old and really, really, really, really bad except for positron, sutter and maybe Hess. Certainly the Phalanx tf's are terrible except positron
The new arcs are good but there are very few, they are mostly level 20-30, and they tend to suck for teaming due to gimmicks, fed ex missions, etc
The lack of new content is not flat out the devs fault. There is new content - Praetoria. But players don't want to play it. Making Praetoria 1-20 open to everyone would help in theory - but that's not really the area that needs content.
There is also SSA #1 which spans lots of levels. I don't know why it is not played more. I suspect it is because the special reward is only given once per week which makes it seem like a waste to do it more.
The levels that take time are 30-50 and that has basically no new content (I know we are getting some).
As I see it, there are 5 main issues:
1. old content is really bad, but could be helped "easily" by removing street sweeps, defeat alls (change to defeating a boss), and sending people to talk for info (KR hero corps, pvp zone contact, hollows contact, etc). There is a lot of good, old content that is buried by the chaff.
2. new content being created has been largely 1-30 which is not what needs the new content. We need a lot of new 30-50 content.
3. new content is story driven with gimmicks. This makes for a good story. It is bad for replayability and terrible for teaming.
4. players take the easy route which is dfb, dib, tf's, and radio missions. Making new content available does not mean people do it, especially teams. There has to be a carrot to get teams to go to Faultline, Striga, Croatoa, or just do something besides tf's and radio missions.
5. Rewards force players to replay the same content. Everyone has to do the midnighter arc. You get an accolade for doing the old tf's. The devs are essentially paying you to do old, bad content and then making new content that gives you nothing. -
Quote:only for the last objective. The last cop was, of course, hidden away in a small upper level room on the first floor- I thought these things were supposed to show up on your map these days? Grr.
since you had 2 - defeat all and rescue 5 cops the last cop didn't show up
if there was no defeat all he would have shown on the map -
sonic/dark corr or dark/sonic defender is amazing.
You get an aoe sleep, aoe fear, aoe disorient, and single target hold
plus all of the debuffs of dark: -regen, -to hit, -res
and the -res from sonic
