  3. I'm looking into starting a new PvP toon, though a Villain this time. After doing my troller, earth/rad, to 42, I just want another evil version of a troller, plus much more damage. However, I can't seem to find a list of ANY detoggle attacks Dominators have!

    Talking to my friends, I know my Mind/Energy has some potential with TK (auto hit + toggle dropper?), Bone Smasher and Total Focus. However, I want to know if these attacks accually DO drop toggles - and what are the other attacks, Primary and Secondareis, that also detoggle?
  4. Yes, but I need to test it, as the endurance drain factor for controllers is lower than the one defenders have.
  5. OK, so i've done a few changes in my build:

    1) changed the stealth-invisibility to menuover or assault, plus tactics.
    2) removed one slot from LR (will lose the last slow in case i need it), and two from QS, and another from SJ. got them on swift (1), combat jumping (1) and hurdle (2) - after all movement is key!
    3) changed EM Pulse to Hasten, slotted it with 3 recharges, and the additional slots (4 total, 1 endred 3 tohit buffs) went to tactics.

    so, there is still the thing with Acrobatics, but I have a question first: I'm depending on the ToHit Debuff to save me from instant death. Reading this, i'm thinking of taking Menuover for the extra defense that can stack nicely with Combat Jumping. This will give me extra defense against the anchors i'm fighting, but my question is, will the defense given from both menuover and combat jumping be significant, or should i just drop the idea and go for assault, not slotting for defense?

    Plus, with tactics running, plus the debuffs, will I need more then 1 accuracy SO on every attack?
  6. Well, IMO, comparing to the attacks of Earth Control, the pet is pretty strong. he's slow, but he tanked infernal for me today!

    1: Get acrobatics, its a lifesaver and since you already have the leaping pool it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe consider dropping grant invis and invis? Could get stealth instead if you want though I wouldn't recommend it.

    2: Animate stone (unless 1 vs 1s), Earthquake and stalagmites are pretty useless in PvP but handy in PvE so heres where you decide whether to go all PvP or PvP/E build.
    Furthermore, consider dropping volcanic gasses...it can be handy when using it with QS but generally too slow animations and results but can be good.

    3: Seriously consider goin with 2 or more accuracies in your attacks! Granted the minus def is good but you have to be able to hit others than your RI anchor.

    4: See if you can get more slots (jumps) into combat jump and hurdle...movement is key to surviving.

    5: Keep slows down to 1 or none in LR and QS as it only slows movement speed and the base slow is pretty good...better to spam QS for instance

    Consider putting some end reds into some of your powers? Think this will be a fairly end heavy set.

    2. I mostly do 1vs1, so the pet is really usefull. I've also slotted Earthquake with 3 tohit debuff in order to up the tohit changes coming in I7, and it is pretty usefull. The gasses are also quite usefull, I use them in case i'm fighting a scrapper/tanker that can, obviously, resist the holds. The gasses gives me a good tick-based hold.

    5. Will do for QS, but Lingering Radiation also has a HUGE -recharge, and is also capped at two slows.
  8. I have used tactics here: Stone Prison, the single Immobilize power, has -FLY. If they are flying, Teleporting around of jumping like a mad man, they WILL hit the earth at one point or another - if they are flying: -FLY. Only has 4 seconds recharge, so can just chase them around until they are down. I'm also undecided on the traveling power (super jump) i've picked, but taken it to avoid the annoying Immobilize effects with Combat Jumping. Any other ideas regarding a different traveling power for PvP are welcome.

    I was interested of getting those attacks as they can help in pretty much in PvP, as well as PvE (like Stalagmites, which i've found no use in PvP, but I think is a must for PvE).
    I wanted to get Invisibility in order to get the first strike against those who can't use invisibility, so i've taken that and Grant Invisibility, so I can be a little team-proactive.
    The second jump can be changed either way: Jump or Endurance Reduction, wanted to ask for your opinions first...
    One last thing: Radiation Infection only has 5 slots. That's because I've got two very nice ToHit and Defense debuffs, plus accuracy. These will be slotted onto RI, and the other three will give the extra bonus to 60%, plus another endurance reduction.
    You'll also note that I rarely slot for two accuracy. This is because I have RI, plus most of earth's attacks are -DEF
    So, any comments, please share, even if it's a little thing.

    HO Swap thread

    Well, I turned out very lucky and recieved another HO from a friend. So my inventory has:
    ToHit and Defense debuff and Accuracy enhancement. Times two. Both are going to me earth/rad, right on my Radiation Infection. Maximize enhancements ability with only 4 enhancement, that sounds good.

    Thank you for orginizing this J, and for every team leader who made this possible, and everyone who came in, didn't draw aggro from the Monsters, DID expand the tromendous lag and kept it all quiet.
    Jiaozy did a great job, so did everyone else. I'm sorry i can't get 25 holding blasters into one team, but Thanks to oozygirl and Dream Justice for leading the #2 and #3 holding teams.

    Again, great job. It's been a long time since Hamidon's last fall.
  14. Holds should be slotted 3holds and as many recharges you can put in it, if i'm not mistaken.

    Anyway, as i'm leading the blaster holding teams, I'm recommending:
    a) Vanguard Accolade will be great for a holding boost, as Power Boost will also be great. Both enhances your holding durations in a segnificant(spelling) way. Try getting them in your builds. Controllers can get Power Boost from the Primal Epic Power Pool (EPP), and Defenders can get Power Build Up in an EPP. Slot these powers with 3recharges if possible. Everything helps!
    b) Slotting your holds 3Hold Durations, 3Recharge Reduction
    c) http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/sh...fpart=1#278138 READ THIS AND MAKE THIS COSTUME. No auras, no capes. This will help the raid leaders and teams identify who you are.

  17. I don't know much about either sets, but here's what I think:

    Change a recharge enhancement to endurance modification on the Transference. 2 slots of recharge, hasten and siphon speed give you 11 seconds, 1 slot, hasten and siphon give you 13 seconds. the bigger the drain, the better it sounds to me.

    Also, no idea how Increased Density works - but if it doesn't give you any protection, only your teammates and Phantasm, I'd replace ID with Supirior Invisibility, as it gives a player a HUGE advantage in PvP - hold that dumb blaster/troller/defender/etc first, kill him later either that, or Hover, which i'm not a huge fan of.

    all those debuffs make me wonder if its more of a defender set than a controller, i havent had much experience of seeing earth controllers (and i have one incidentally lvl 5) but i have seen some earth controllers chuck stone cages on a group only to have the group pull out their guns and shoot them dead (not you ofc) however the animated stone is very cute and impressive.

    Quite the opposite. Radiation IS a defender's primary set, Radiation Infection (-DEF, -ACC), Enervating Field (-DMG, -RES), Lingering Radiation (-Speed, -Recharge, -Regen). those 7 debuffs can be found in two toggles and one AoE attack that comes back every 45 secs IIRC. That, and the PBAoE Heal and AM are my "defenderish" powers which I use strictly for offense. I'm not a healer and not even planning on picking the Ressurection power.

    Those powers help me a lot with controling a set. Earth Control has a pretty massive effects, all of which STACKS with the debuffs mentioned above. Earthquake is a knockback and a tohit debuff. Quicksand is a massive Slow (-spd -fly -jump) AND a -def. The AoE Immobilize is a -fly AND a -def. The AoE disorient is also a -def. In the matter of fact, only three of my Earth Control powers are not -def, and that is the earthquake, the AoE hold and the pet.

    That being said, I must make my next and final point: Those debuffs, either from the Radiation set or the Earth Control set, allow me to lock down enemies, PvE or otherwise, by many ways: knocking them back constantly for 30 seconds while disabling their movment, seriously debuffing their DEF and ACC, allowing them to make less damage and take more of it. All of that makes earth/rad a real control set that makes my team a real killing machine.

    IMO, if you've met an Earth Controller who ONLY uses his AoE immobilize, and doesn't focus on heal (empath or something like empath), he isn't controling, he is showing off his good looking AoE immobilize power and that's all.
    Many controllers do a lot, either with the primary or secondary set. But if they aren't doing anything with either, they don't know how to control.

    my two cents.

    Edit: reading the following comments, I must also say that Earth control debuffs and control tools, and Radiation's debuffs, match so perfectly together. That makes the set really good for control. Both sets have all the debuffs i've mentioned (but the -fly from earth and -regen,-dmg from radiation), and combining them together makes it a control freak.

    Edit 2: Earth also doesn't have the -recharge, it is radiation's Lingering effect.
  21. As some people already mentioned, Earth/Radiation, while it isn't very harmfull, and practicly weak as a fly, it has one of the best control tools in the game.

    So yes, I can't solo as good as others at level 31, but I really do shine in teams. A mob of +2 DEs and a shadow cyst fell under my hands, as I unleashed debuff after debuff, mez after mez. There was no stopping me.

After we got the little misunderstanding on everyone's part (I didn't get a PM nor did I looked twice at this post), it looks like Sparks recommended me for leading the Blaster Holding team. So I'll be there with my Fire/Dev/(correctly Fire, respecable to something with more holds?), and will lead the Blaster Team(s) during the Holding Phase.
    Other then that, a question: does the list in the previous page shows the "Official" teams, or can my BHT get more blasters others than those specified in the previous page? In other words: Is that list final or temp.?

    Edit: What is the chat channel for the raid, and can we make an additional, private chat channel for all the team leaders to join, so we can have better control about what the hack we(team leaders) are doing?
