  1. Looks like a pretty good build. I have some suggestions though.

1)Replace the mako set in clobber with a set of crushing impact. You will not lose much health bonus and you get a 5% recharge bonus. The big defense bonus on the makos is positional so you will only get a small bonus to energy defense. You should allready be capped on energy so its not needed.

    2) Just 3 slot stamina. With EA you dont need the plus end proc. It will save you about 10 mil.

    3) I love the eradication set. I normally 4 slot my pbaoe's with eradication and 2 slot with scirrocco for a nice 10% regen bonus. I would do this with all 3 PBAOE powers.

4)I recomend putting some heal Io's into energy drain.Maybe 3 efficacy adapter or performance shifter and 3 numina for the health and regen bonus.

5)Does boxing need to be slotted??
  2. I have a question about perma dom. I keep reading that hasten needs to be 6 slotted even if you have more than 75% global recharge. Why?? I have a lvl 50 perma dom with 90% global recharge and hasten is only 3 slotted and my domination never drops. Hasten isnt quite perma yet.....but as long as my domination never drops...i don't think hasten needs to be perma.

    Hey tweeks.

Your build is not that different from the build i am using. I am at work so i can't post my build. I suggest dropping super speed and getting rid of blessing of zephyr set in super jump. That KO protection Io is really expensive...over 100 mil. Its not worth it for 1.5% fire/cold def. You can pick up hurl and slot is with some thunderstike for some additional energy def.

  5. I posted my build.... i hope it helps. This Build is the complete actual build i am running right now.I mean to put LOTG 7.5% recharge in combat jumping....i'm saving merits for it. I am also considering the force feed back proc in tremor but i dont use tremor a whole lot.
On more bit of advice....start buying the fortunata hypnosis set asap. I have noticed that the prices on those IO's are going way up. If you see them some what cheap....buy them. I was fortunate enough to get 5 of them for under 40 million total infamy.

  7. I just finished up IOing 2 lvl 50 toons. Now i am able to give my lvl 11 sm/shield brute my full attention. I have a build made up on mids but its kinda pricey. I am at work right now so i can't post my build. I have the infamy to spend but if possible i'd like to go the cheapest way possible to soft cap my defenses. With my current build i still am not soft capped. Could someone please post a build or 2 or give some tips. I could really use some feedback.
    Thanx
  8. I just leveled an earth/earth perma dom to lvl 50. I am at work so i can't post my build but your build is somewhat similar to mine. I didnt take a travel power and i took boxing and tough. I have a few suggestions.
1)Put only 1 common slow IO in quicksand. The extra slots can be used else where.

2)6 slot fossilize with 4 basilisk and 2 other from a cheap hold set. You really want as much hold/rech/acc as possible.

    3) I am not sure if you will need the very expensive numina and the miracle IO's in health. Once you are perma...you get a full blue bar every 90 seconds. Even without perma dom i never really had an issue with endurance once my powers were I0'd with some end reduction.

4)Slot earthquake with 4 dark watcher Io's or 5 dampened spirit Io's. You will get a 5% recharge bonus.

5)you can save alot of cash if you 6 slot stone spears with the kinetic crash set. You sacrifice some damage but it turns the power into a mini lift. You also get some knock back resistance and an awesome 7.5% recharge.

6)5 slot fissure with a set of positron blast. This way you still get the recharge bonus and your not sacrificing damage.

    Just my 2 cents.
  9. necro/pain

    zombies: sajak,trebek, and woolery

    grave knights: regis and eubanks

    lich: wink martindale
  10. I recommend dropping taunt, manuevers, and 1 of the patron powers for boxing/tough/weave. This will give you better defense and some much needed resists.
The Touch of Death set is pretty expensive amd will take up alot of your 100 mil limit. Instead of the TOD set .....buy the steadfast + 3 defense IO and put it in tough. It is a kinda pricey IO but will be alot cheaper then a crafted set of TOD. The numina rec/reg will cost you at least 30 mil. You can save merits for that one though.
You can also put the performance shifter recovery proc Io in stamina. It isnt that expensive but it is not very consistant.
I am a big big fan of /SR and in my opinion shields isnt better just different. SR is much easier and cheaper to soft cap and it has alot more defense debuff resistance than shield.
  11. I would try warmace/willpower/mu. You can make backstory where he truely is good but forced to work for arachnos or something like that.I am horrible at backstorys. When ROGUE comes out....you can bring him over to heroes.
  12. also.... on 1 build u have 6 7.5 recharge and on the other you have 7 7.5 recharge. 5 is the maximum you can have for the same exact bonus.
  13. I might be wrong but i dont think perma dom is possible without hasten. Even with all your recharge...i still dont think its enough for perma. Get rid of firey embrace or manuevers and move some slots around and you will easily have perma hasten and what they call "teir 3" perma dom.

lol. That is excatly what i did when i redid my build on mids. I figured that the the damage on stone spears kinda sucks anyway...so i didnt see the harm in putting the kinetic crash set in.
For an earth/earth dom is it better to go for perma dom or take the fighting pool and build for resistance/defense??
  15. Both EA and INVUl have their pros and cons. I thinking the biggest con on both is no psi protection. The biggest pro to EA is never needing to worry about endurance. It is not that hard or to soft cap defenses either. There are several skippable powers on /EA too(energy protection, conserve power, and possibly overload). This will make it easier for you to fit in your mako patrons and the fighting pool.
Invulnerbility has major end problems....but with tough you can have 70% resistance to smash/lethal. Also with alot of Io help you can even soft cap your defenses with invincibility running.
Another cool thing about your ocean themed toon is that 3 travel sets all fit your concept very well. You can go fly like Sub Mariner or Namorita, Super speed(You swim really fast and that translates to superspeed on land and hasten allows you to resist the heaviness of water), or super jump(your resistance to the weight of water gives you vast jumping ability on land).
  16. Theme wise all 3 would be good choices. For pure survivability in my opinion i would say invulnerbility.
You could also use elec armor. You could imagine your toon has the powers of an electric eel. just a thought.
  17. I just rolled an earth/earth dom. I actually really like JJDRAKKEN's build...fairly cheap and more melee oriented than perma dom.
My question is....i want to 6 slot earthquake with the kinetic crash set for the knockback protection and the awseome 7.5 recharge....is this a good idea???
  18. I think mr playskool might be leaking some advanced pictures of the new Ultra version graphics overhaul that was recently mentioned.

And because I jump from alt to alt I'd rather have a lot of builds that are above average than a few that elite. Personal preference is going to mean some people are going to focus on individual alts and always want to make them better.
This is almost exactly what i do. Besides my one and only "purpled out" toon all my other toons are somewhat cheap but effective builds.
Due to lack of level 50 content...i do not play my lvl 50 toons that often. I don't pvp really either so i just kinda like to enjoy my toon to lvl 50 and then move on to my next creation.
I sometimes think that alot of people focus too much on Io's and farming and forget that this game is supposed to be fun. I am not an anti farmer but doing the same mission over and over again just isnt that fun to me. I do enjoy doing Tf's though with my lvl 50 toons.

I'm really losing interest in it atm, and so i have a couple Q's about my build and such to ask you lovely forum people.

    1) which attacks would you say make a very effective AoE attack chain for a claws brute?

    2) How much is lethal damage resisted at lvl 30? i heard someone say about the lol lethal damage problem at high levels so i imagine this will get stronger as i get closer to 50.

    3) which damage types are the least resisted (brute primarys, no psionic please =P)

    4) Is Inv fun to play at higher levels or is it just very survivable? and would you suggest WP over Inv for a brute?

thanx for reading guys, look forward to your feedback =)

I just got my claws/invul brute to 50.
    Here is my 2 cents.

    1) SPIN SPIN SPIN!!! spin followed by eversicerate is awesome too.

2)Starting at level 40 there are alot of enemies that resist lethal...but your dps is so good...you won't notice a big difference.

3)Negative is probably the least resisted.

4)After you get invicibility nicely slotted and get some defense bonus'.../invul is very very good. With just 4 or 5 enemies near...most of my typed defenses are soft capped. I would try to avoid Malta, Carnies, widows, and mue though.
  21. I know alot people do have these uber builds in their stable. It can be alot of fun and challenging to get keep playing a toon for maximum uberness. My question is ....how many people that post these crazy expensive builds on toons they just started leveling or plan on leveling actually follow through. My gut tells me...not many.
  22. On another topic...i am very curious as to how many people actually follow through with these uber expensive builds. Over the last couple of years i have seen countless planned builds on these forums that cost billions of infamy and i have a feeling very very few realize how hard it can be to get all these IO's and even less stick to the build.
I do IO out my toons but for the most part...i try and go cheap. My DM/SR was very expensive to build and took quite some time...and with the price of purples now...i doubt i will ever go that way again.
    I'm just kinda curious.
  23. It is a good build but its is extremly expensive. Well over 2 billion infamy. I'm not really sure why you would need that much recharge.
I do have an Io'd out lvl 50 dm/sr brute(my name sake) with 3 purple sets...but io'd him over a year ago when purples were much much cheaper. If i were building him today...i would skip the purples. They just are not worth 200 mil plus for just 1 enchancement.
My suggestions for bonus priority in order are def(all 3 positional), rec bonus, recharge, and regen.
I did not take nor do i feel the need for the health pool on my /sr brute. But DM is my primary and it has a heal.I would still skip it though. For patron i took soul mastery...gloom is a very good attack....i had darkest night but i respeced out of it. Its a good power but a huge end hog.
  24. Here is my build. I went with black scorpion patron because of concept. This build wasnt that expensive either. with global recharge...hasten is only down for 8 seconds.

  25. I have a 50 rad/rad. He was one of my 1st toons. I got him to lvl 50 before the days of IO's. When i started putting Io's in him...i pretty much did what you did. I went very cheap and kinda just threw stuff together without really stacking bonus'. Eventually i got a pretty good build that wasnt that expensive.
I have a few suggestions. These are just my opnions. I'm sure you will get better responses from people that are more experienced than i am at coors.

    1) You really need to get some recharge. 5 slot the Proton valley with the manticore set. It will give you a 7.5% recharge bonus and its a cheap set. 5 slot nuetron bomb with the positron set. That will give you an end rec bonus and a 6.25 recharge bonus. This set isnt that expensive either. 6 slot transferance with efficacy adapter. you will get a 10% regen bonus and a 5% recharge bonus. 5 slot scorpion shield with red fortune for a 5% recharge bonus. If you are gonna keep the patron pet put 4 or 5 of the intensive recharge io's in it. 4 slotted on either set will give you a 6.25% recharge bonus.
Those 5 sets are fairly cheap. Pretty much everything else with recharge bonus is gonna cost alot of infamy.
2)Only 1 slot increase density and no more than 2 slots in fly.
3)Drop recall friend or web envelope for hasten.
4)Put the achilles heel -res proc in nuetrino bolt.
5)Sell the numina set for a crap load of infamy and replace it with the much cheaper doctored wounds in health. 5 slotted doctored wounds give you a 5% recharge bonus. I dont recomend 5 slotting health though. You can keep 3 of the numinas for the regen and hp bonus and sell the other 3...including the + regen/rec proc for alot of infamy.
6)Put 5 sirroco dervish in atomic blast. You get a regen bonus and an accuracy bonus. This set is inexpensive too.
These are just some random thoughts. Like i said...i am not that experienced with coors.
