  1. It is not at bad build and you probably could solo AV's with it but the build is still a bit odd to me.
1st off i would only put 1 slot on hover...5 slots is just a waste. I wouldnt go with the BOTZ sets.....with the changes to the sets that go live today....your ranged and aoe bonus get cut in half. I am assumimg the prices on this set will go down but the extra slots in travel powers are not worth a 1.5 % def bonus.
6 slot TT leadership with the gaussens set. The set is pricey ...but your build allready is pricey....so it will be infamy well spent.
I know its a mattter of taste but i never take the healing pool. I do see people taking the heal for their soa's but i just feel there are better powers to take. I just pop a green when i run into trouble. Instead of the 2 healing powers you could take placate and assault from the leadership pool or combat jumping.
3 slot haste to get the most out of it. If you want to spend alot of infamy on all those LOTG's...thats great but i really feel you dont need them. maybe 1 or 2 .
Will someone please explain to me why nightwidows need so much recharge?? I never saw the need for it....im at 51.25% and i feel that is more than enough. Forts need alot of recharge...night widows don't.
  2. I have an io'd out 50 night widow that i solo'd alot of av's successfuly with. I never understood the need for for a huge amount of recharge on nightwidows. With mental training my global recharge is at 51.25%. Mind link is perma amd i have a fluid attack chain.
I have 2 thoughts i would like to add to the mix.
    1) combat training defensive should have more slots for defense

2)The BOTZ io's get nerfed tomorrow. Your going to lose a total of 3% on ranged and aoe defenses. It kinda sux because those are expensive
  3. Wheres the high defense in that build the op mentioned he wanted?? If the op wants high defense he is gonna have to take the scorpion patron powers.
That is one crazy expensive build. The Op is going to have to roll and IO out a farming brute to get the infamy he is going to need.
  4. Thanx Bill. I guess i didnt have the latest drivers installed. Everything works great now.
  5. I have been trying to get on test but everytime i am loading onto the login screen i get an error box that says i have an atioglxx.dll crash. Does anyone one know what this is??? i have been playing on test for 3 years and i never had a problem.
    Any help would be apreciated.

    Is it possible?

My build is similar to erichough's but there are some changes.
1st off neither build is soft capped on defenses without phalanx fighting.
EricHoughs build does not have perma active defense. This is a MUST!!
Grant cover is important to have because its gives you defense debuff resistance.
Darkest night is nice but its end cost is horrible...so i skipped it.
I put GOTA in the defensive powers for the recovery bonus.

    Fire/Earth Help

You want seismic smash slotted for damage. It is an amazing attack and you will be seriously nerfing the power if you put basilisk in there. I slotted Seismic with a full set of crushing impact. Put the basilisk sets in your 2 holds.
I personally skip the aoe imobil...too much agro and they cost alot of endurance.
  8. I gotta agree with kioshi. This is a very odd guide and build. I have a lvl 50 perma dom/hasten earth/earth dom that i really enjoy playing. I am by no means an expert but i have alot of time put in playing earth/earth.
I would also like to add a few things.

1)quicksand and earthquake a really good soft controls....instead of taking them you took stone cages and salt crystals?? The only reason why i took salt crystals was to put in a set of 5 fortunata hypnosis. They are the cheapest of the purples.

2)In my opinion hurl boulder is a skip power. The damage is so so and the animation is quite long.

3)why is combat jumping 3 slotted?? thos slots could be used elsewhere.

    4) You want as much accuracy and recharge as possible in volcanic gasses. Hold and damage io's dont really do much to VG. I went for 4 GAZE OF BASILISK for the 7.5 recharge and one lvl 50 recharge IO. If you dont want to pay for that pricey set.....just frankenslot for acc/rech.

5)Instead of spending billions on the javelin volley set it might be better to go for perma dom/hasten instead. It will be ALOT cheaper too. Im not saying perma dom is a must but if your gonna spend that kinda infamy...perma dom is the way to go.

All that really matters though is that you enjoy your toon. I have to say though...that if someone is looking for earth/earth advice...they might want to look elsewhere.
  9. I agree pretty much completly with DEUS. I would also like to throw in my 2 cents.

1)Don't add slots to combat jumping. I know u want the nice bonus' from LOTG but that set is expensive and you could put those 2 extra slots to better use.

2)Replace hurl with taunt and 6 slot it with a set MOCKING BERATEMENT. You get a real nice recharge and s/l defense bonus.

3)6 slot footstomp with 4 obliteration abd 2 scirroco dervish. This will give a nice hp, energy def, and regen bonus
  10. wow..i am really impressed with all the feedback i have recieved. last night i rolled a fire/rad a ill/rad and a earth/storm. I will play all 3 for a while to see what i like best. I may hold off on the earth/storm until GR goes live because earth/storm powers just seem really villianous to me. All that property damage isnt very hero like. LOL

Thank you all again for your awesome feedback
  11. I'm not particulary set on any power set. I actually love earth control. I have a 50 earth/earth perma dom. I also have a 50 plant/thorn and a 50 fire/fire perma dom. I also have a 50 rad/rad corr. I just kinda like the concept of fire/rad.
My main concern with any controlller is lack of damage. I obviously never played illusion but i'm starting to think it might be boring.
I would also like a controller thats not going to be very expensive. Illusion will probably cost a fortune to get perma phantom army. I'm kinda burnt out on High end builds since all 3 of my doms cost me well over a billion infamy each to build.
I imagine that earth/storm will be very very safe but how is it damage wise??
  12. Thanks for all the advice. I think i will roll a ill/rad troller and actually play him on blue side. If i really like the toon i might roll a fire/rad when GR goes live so that i can take him red.
  13. I am a 4 year veteran but i have like an hour total experience blueside. Not sure why....i guess i just like red side style of play. With GOING ROGUE coming soon i am wanting to take some blue side At's and take them red.
I have 3 level 50 doms so i am interested in controllers. I Do a healthy mix of solo and teaming but being able to solo is a big must with me. I do not PVP. It doesnt look like to me that most controllers solo well. So i am asking you troller players how well controllers solo.
I am very interested in making a fire/rad troller. I have a good deal of experience with both power sets and the idea of using choking cloud with hot feat and fire cages intrigues me. The damage for controllers seems very low though so i wanna know how well fire/rad solo. Also i would like some feed back as to which troller combos solo well. I allready know illusion solos well.
Thank you for all future responses.

Oh, and should I assume the animation time makes hurl boulder essentially not worth taking?
While tremor is not a great power....it's still worth taking. It's secondary effect is knockdown not knockback. The damage is really just so so but it is your best aoe option. The knockdown is really nice mitigation since earth assault forces you to be in melee combat.

Yes hurl boulder is really not worth taking. The damage is mediocre on top of long animation time.
Mud pots is also is very skippable. The huge end drain is not worth the really small radius.
  15. Here is my 2 cents.
While not a bad build... it is alot more expensive then it needs to be without really improving your toon much. The extremly expensive miracle recovery proc is a waste on EA because of energy drain. You will have limitless endurance...you do not need that IO.
ThE obliveration sets in your aoes are also very expensive...is the extra 10% recharge really worth it. I suggest replacing the obliteration sets for the eradication sets. Just 4 slotted will give u a very nice energy defense bonus and HP bonus. Last time i checked eradication sets were cheaper than oblivion.
Buying all those LOTG is entirely up to you. I personally do not get them for my brutes but alot of other people do. For EA the most important thing is to get your typed defenses soft capped. I have a 50 wm/ea brute that actually was not very expensive to soft cap at all. After defenses i went for HP and regen bonus'. I do not have alot of recharge in the build nor do i really feel i need it.
This is just my opinion though.

    Earth/Earth Dom

[QUOTE=Fire_Minded;2636848]Well, I cant says I understand Higher levels of Doms very well, because I havnt teamed with one, or played one past level 10.
Side Note : Please dont suggjest what powers to take, and what not to take.Iv already mapped her out for percieved Balanced performance.

If you think earth/earth doms play like a blaster...you might not have a good grasp on the combo. You might want to get build advice. I could post my build tonight and there are lot of good dom players on these forums that can give you even better advice.

    Earth/Earth Dom

I have a level 50 earth/earth perma dom. It definitly does not play like a blaster. Earth assault only has 2 ranged attacks and neither are very good. Earth/earth has a tank/brute feel to it with all it's melee smashiness. If you want to play it like it blaster you might want to try another dom secondary...maybe fire.
Later in the game....with proper io slotting earth/earth is really awesome. You have alot of control options and seismic smash is the best melee attack for any dom. The 2 mallets and seismic smash are the 3 must haves for earth assault. The aoes are so so but still worth having.
In my opinion volanic gases is the only dom aoe hold really worth taking. It does not hold every enemy around you though at the same time. For the entire duration of VG enemys have a chance to be held so make sure you have plenty of accuracy slotted. Enemys can be held more than once during the duration of VG...which is the cool thing about it. VG is not effected by domination or power boost. Also hold io's dont add much to the duration of the hold. When u slot it you want alot of accuracy and recharge and some hold. I personally slotted mine with a set of 5 bassilisk and a recharge IO for the 7.5 global recharge. The set it quite pricey though.
  18. Plant control is definitly not a late blooming set unless you have not taken seeds of confusion. Doms in general are squishy. It is the controls that make doms less squishy.
We need more info to better help you. what is your build so far? What enemies are you struggling against?? Are your mezzes nicely slotted?? Are you not opening every battle with seeds of confusion?? Are you spamming your aoe imobolize ??
  19. wow. Thanks alot that was some really solid advice. I am going to put all your advice into my build.
  20. I am really stuggling to come up with a good build on wm/da. I am trying for typed def,end rec,+ hp, regen, and + end while trying to maintain endurance management. I know i could go with 3 sets of kinetic combat but they r really expensive and scarce. Instead i went with 1 set of KC and 2 full sets of crushing impact. There is very little recharge in this build as well. I just think the other bonus are more important. I would appreciate any help and feedback with this build.

  21. Thanx for your reply. I know some of my attacks are under slotted. I just ran out of slots.I will rework my build. I will definitly replace cloak of fear with opressive gloom. I am usually quite good at making builds but for some reason i am really sruggling
    with /DA
  22. I just started a wm/da brute also. This is my build from mids i came up with. I could really use some feedback and suggestions. I went for defense, end rec, + hp and some regen. I didnt go with the kinetic combats because they r so scarce and it will take a while to get the 3 sets. Im not patient. lol

  23. I recomend trying to get as much typed defense bonus' as you possibly can. If you can get your positionals to 30 to 35 %...invinciblity will take care of the rest and have you soft capped on smash/lethal, energy, and fire/cold. A set of 4 eradication in each of your aoe powers will give you real nice bonus to your health and energy defense. After defenses you need as much end recovery bonus as possible.
I also suggest dropping all the patron powers and get boxing/tough/weave from the fighting pool.
  24. this is my build. it is not that pricey.
