it feels like a bit of a copout cos all these yay thanks aren't gonna change anything but hell yeah it does suck, the GMs and support have always been really nice

yeah just don't wear/use the red stuff if you're not intending on rushing through cos it's basically level 50 stuff that's had level requirement removed

i've been trying to get ppl to do the same, so at least there's some record of how good it was and so a warning for future on mismanaging online games...I think the lack of marketing from NCsoft killed it (something I've seen several other people echo) really since because of that people only had the critics to go to for information... like I said I would've bought it if had been a free trial advertised to join and see! -

yeah that was what the new patch this morning did it seems (it had no notes), XP boosters have a chance to drop from alien NPCs now, I actually didn't realise until someone told me I had 7! They are hidden in "consumables" of backpack (press B)
also red weapons and armour (the second best apart from purple which can be modified) are dropping as regular things now, as well as pets (again in consumables for some reason though they are permnant) which I guess were originally going to be veteran rewards like on Co

they have a link to make a new account (it instantly does it if you are already logged in on PlayNC account management) and download the game - you don't need to have bought anything it's totally free now - i didn't buy it but i thought i might as well try it
if you are reading this and don't actually play City Of and so don't have a NCsoft account, don't worry it's very painless to setup you don't need any card details
it closes down forever on the 28th February 2009 (yeah just over 2 weeks), and there is no singleplayer, so this is the only chance to see it
it's actually better than I thought it would be, i think the critics gave it too hard a time, it's sad, I would've bought it if there had been a free trial - so far I had actually more fun than city of, though that might just be cos I've overplayed Co (all the TFs/SFs, can remember way around caves and offices etc by heart like I'm sure lots of others here can by now
the EU server at least also has a LOT of people it actually seems more active than Cityof (serious!) which is weird because the reason given by NCsoft on their site for shutting it down is low player populations
if you liked Fallout 3 you'll probably like it -

I played a trial yesterday of the US version (I was trying to get in contact with someone on the US forums about base design since you can't even PM people let alone post on the official forum if you are outside the US apartheid zone) and noticed on the loading screens the "Nvidia the way it's meant to be played" stuff is curiously absent - I guess they realised US players wouldn't put up with that kind of crap...

It'd be cool if they made the veteran reward SG teleporter, powers and combat pets and normal pets buyable, that would level the playing field more too with the latter (rather than just "who's been giving us lots of money (over months))
