this is awesome and i'd like it as a blast set or assault set like you say. probs more blast for me. a false emp / pain dom corr would be amazeballs and work great for concepts. with soft control like dark sets offer, psy/lethal dmg and some -MaxHP...

empathy/healing as a power, to me, is a power that can also be used to hurt [anti-heal.]
as long as it wasnt overpowered.and the T9 could be Total Deception and have a nice cone of self +tohit enemy -MaxHP and -Recovery and some high psy dmg.

i would love to see an alternate dimension's Lord Recluse. What if he'd been attacked by Cole, but survived, or won... thereby creating another split in reality with a universe where he fought Cole's tyranny, or created another nation of his own in a world dominated by hamidon, or led the battle against another rikti invasion. what if the power he inherited was was not that of tartarus, but rather, a different god?

but im so used to zombies and their sinky breath and shoulder pad upgrades, which is only mildly satisfying as a costume upgrade.

thos costume chanes make the most difference with mercs, thugs, and ninjas. i hardly even notice them on bots and demons. zombs, dep on the minion [some are costume changes, some get auras.]
but i would gladly give up that minor costume change for a complete minion alt model swap option. XD -

But to those of this who have wanted that costume piece for so long, making it available with such a limitation is a slap in the face.

customization is highly requested and im sure the devs hear us screaming about it. and yep, beast mastery is coming!
and hopefully they'll listen to the T3 Boss Pet request to swap the "Another Wolf?!?!" with a bear or ape. BUT!!! Will we actually get customization?! DUN DUN DUNNNNN!!!!!

please port the pieces to male and huge models. there really is no reason they shouldnt get to enjoy them. so what that the male canirval npcs dont have the same pieces, if i wanted to mimic the enemy group exactly [i.e. only females having the pieces] then this should have been an NPC transform power.
please port the pieces to the other models. this is silly. -
what i would do most is add a little bit more dmg to force bolt [and Gale for that matter] - nothing too intense but enough that should i choose to enhance well, it can be added to my attack chain, and i'd also add minor dmg to repulsion field for that matter.
i'd simply adore the set then. -
as much as i would LOVE this [meelee and blast! nice!], and an Animal Control[serpentine holds, bird flock/bug swarm immobs, charging knockdowns, ferocious animals fear/stuns] set or a Beast-Warrior[think thundercats or He-Man's buddies] MM set...
I feel like the way they made the new MM set, they sort of mashed all those together thereby making these other [better organized for the AT imo] sets less likely to happen.
and i'm already sick of the canines: [german sheperd[meh] coyote travel [nice!] black wolf non-combat pet[meh] darkness control dark wolf [why is it a wolf? why doesnt it atleast have horns or wings or tentacles or something?] MM wolf tier 1 [more wolves? how are wolves henchmen?] MM tier 3 Dire Wolf [yes... another wolf...]]
anyway, a bug set, even as a customization option for an "animal control set" with birds, and other animals as other custom options would be perfection.

Thats kind of like saying "I want a Fire set for my scrapper, but Fire Melee doesn't count"
As for Water/Wind alternatives, you can look into Energy Blast, Force field (For putting people in bubbles of water as you mentioned) Sonic blast with the alternate animations is pretty much a "Wind" powerset and Cold domination for having a mix of water ish and ice effects.
In addition to all this, you get the Leviathan pool which has Water based powers. The spirit sharks can easily pass as shaped water, bile spray is passable, and water spout is well, just what it sounds like.
I'm all for new powersets, but outside of titan weapons I don't think "I WANT A MORE EPIC VERSION OF THIS POWERSET" (Which seems what you are asking for when it comes to storm)is going to fly, especially for elemental sets.

sonic can pass, and for right now, im having to settle for a sonic/storm corr. but Wind-Blast would be as different from Sonic and Storm as Katana is to broadsword. of course sonic is the vibration of air molecules, but that is hardlt a wind blast set in the sense that ice control is water control. yes ice is water but it's not flowing, it's solid. every set is different and allows for thematic variation. it's what sets CoH apart from a lot of games
if you personally dont feel the need for a wind blast or water control set, then by all means, dont play it when it comes out. XD though, ideally, water control could be color tinted to look like your mud set.
also, Scirocco's two wind based powers are great examples of the potential for a wind set: Desert Winds and Dust Devils. yes they are re-colors of two existing powers, but that, plus whirl wind re-colored, plus a few new fx, plus aim, and hey it's a wind based blast set that isnt sonic circle columns and doesnt have lightning and rain, and thereby allowing for a complete functioning conceptual caracter.

I posted on a thread a long time ago some AT ideas i thought up, to be released with an issue with a theme relating to WWII, and a couple zones through ouro/midnighters club, and these AT's, VIP or market purchase only, would start out in the new time warped WWII zone with special arc introducing the battle and the AT as either a new recruit or seasoned veteran, without tutorial option or hero/villain alignment. Some of these AT's are basically what you've suggested, but im just organizing my thoughts since i cant find my old post XD
*Field Commander* - You are a natural born leader. With a team of your own to back you up and obey your every command, you encourage and guide others using your talents to ensure your allies survive.
-primary is self/team buffs, debuffs [organized similar to SoA secondarys]
-secondary is MMpets [but instead of upgrades incorporate 2 meelee attacks]
-inherent: larger teams grant increased buff bonuses
-medium HP, mod dmg
*Field Medic* - You must stand your ground in the midst of battle, as you strive to ensure the safty, and survival, of your allies.
-primary is assault sets
-secondary is team buffs/self buffs
-inherent: foe placate after X trigger
-low hp, medium dmg
*Kamikazi* - You are willing to give every fiber of your being to ensure the destruction of your enemies. Your power is unmatchable, because you know the fuse is short and you have to make the most with the time you do have.
-primary is ranged [with Nuke]
-secondary is meelee [with AoE dmg self rez]
-inherent is a bar like domination or fury, that when full after increased dmg output, allows for activation of a "Destruction" power initiating a brief untouchable period of ten-ish seconds with +Dmg, ending in a self destruct. if you die from kamikazi, you have no debt. regular deaths still give debt
-low HP, high dmg
*Espionage* - You are a master of spying, and only the greatest missions are given to you, behind enemy lines, finding and relaying vital information to your allies,
-primary is similar to stalker secondary but instead of hide you unlock a power called "disguise" that is the same for all powersets allowing you to appear identical to a targeted foe granting "invisibility" and foe placate
-secondary is control with a power replacing group hold with an Espionage power severely reducing the defense of target and, to a lesser degree, surrounding enemies.
-inherent is a chance for critical dmg the higher tier the enemy while disguised, reduced endurance when not disguised
-low HP, moderate dmg
*Trooper* - You are the backbone of every army. You fight and win, or lose, every war. Will you be a casualty... or come home a hero?
-primary is assault [including two new weapon sets Armory [steel[mace axe or sword]+archery] and Arsenal[gun+gadget]]
-secondary is self buffs [scrapper strength]
-inherent is 'Victorious' granting increased regen + recovery when taunting enemies
-medium hp, medium dmg
kay i think that's what i'd planned out before. at least it's close to it XD. i understand that some of these might not work very well, but i'd still love to try them. numbers would obviously need to be balanced, and making inherents to make the AT's different was hard and im not sure of the ones i made up, but these are the AT's i'd propose to add

you might as well add the new carnie of light pack too. it's on the beta vip test server right now.
it consists of several face-masks and head details as well as the long requested "sash" item, all of which are limited [for no real reason] to female characters [plus some neat mace weapon models]. i asked on freedom friday facebook comment thread and was given the answer that most of the male character of the carnival of light can already be reproduced with other costume pieces in game, and its only the females that are wearing the unique pieces that will be for sale. while true, there really is still no reason the VERY good, unique, and highly requested items couldnt have been made available to *all* three body types.
it's a shame really, the pieces are wonderful but limited to the one body type. and i figured the point of releasing them to the public so players could use them with other costumes and themes in addition to the carnival of light, not solely to mimic the carnival of light - otherwise it should be an npc transformation power.

Thus, the Melee Defender would get the benefits that help it and the team stay alive, but not the killing things quickly benefit.
Offensive Buffs -- Damage Boost from Fulcrum Shift
Defensive Debuff -- Minus Damage from Fulcrum Shift
3. Not outshining the existing buffing classes would be pretty easy with the breakdown I showed above. I also liked your idea of not porting over every single power from the Defender trees. Missing powers would equal things that other toons could do that this Archetype could not do.
buuuttt i would still prefer it to have the assault sets, with a couple ranged attacks. i would rather, have it be a reduced damage AT... since the self/team buffs would be it's primary, right?
or like you suggested and i think i mentioned, the self/team buffs along the lines of what a SoA has, and the attack secondary being similar to a MMs. of course, different inherent, different base stats, and a couple different effects to pet goody powers, OR... instead of upgrades: meelee attacks. -

It can be done. It doesn't need ultramode. It wouldn't require upping the min fx anymore than the costume change emote, the various water powers in-game or all the other 'extra' visuals powers create would.

Masterminds have support secondaries. "self/team buffs".
they all have different inherents, different stats, and different damage and buff/debuff numbers. this, along with switched powersets makes the game play completely different. also, as i suggested, a primary similar to SoA secondary is not the same as the current buff sets. the new primary for such an AT would include a few more powers from the meelee self-buff sets to replace some of the enemy debuff powers making the set self and team based more instead of enemy debuff based.
hence... it would be a new AT. -

The Jingle Jet allows players to keep their powers. Heck, even the LKT-1700 Rocket Pack allows people to be in combat with it.
all i ever wanted was tech wings that dont flap, are aerodynamic, appear and disappear after use [a folding/retracting animation would be cool but not neccessary]. if it were fast, like the hoverboard and now carpet...
that would be perfect. and i'd still be able to attack cuz basically it would just be fly with a backpack. none of this fixed-pose affect self business. bonus - it's already in game. jump pack, meh boring. but the flying jetpack was always a favorite. and since the sewer trial removed the need or desire for hollows and KR for me at least... [:/] i'd completely forgotten about this temp power.
that i would buy. if it were unchanged except made faster and permanent. also want: the goldbricker's backpack - which would also not need to be an affect-self power.

yaaaay that's great.
now, can i have a whirlwind travel power that isnt affect self only? or basically an aura because the limited posing is also a bummer [do the arms have to be crossd on the carpet?], and if it was an aura i could just use fly [actual whirlwind uses up end, isnt color tintable and knocks back foes, which is nice but i just want the fx].
whirlwind aura 60 points. would sell like hotcakes. unlike the carpet power [which i like... but not for 600points. i'm saving up for staff meelee.]
fly-only aura [like conbat-only] is possible as an option too, right? a la rocket boots? although if whirlwind WAS to become an aura, that i buy, it had better have the options for always, combat, or flight. XD not just flight :P or i'd be a sad disgruntled panda. -
I would like to see more of the various Alien Races and Humanoid Earthly Races interacting. :P This thread is an illustration of my ideas and understanding of the in-game Incarnates, Aliens and Races and inquiry as to other's understanding and ideas of the same topics.
I was just reading up on the wiki some of the game lore, and began to wonder, who else is/was an Incarnate, how many Aliens species are known, and how many Humanoid-Races are there? [Yes i have a sort-of suggestion and an idea in here after I organize my thoughts XD]
First: Incarnates
Obvi there are the biggies, Statesman, Recluse, Tyrant, then there are the several discovered-as-incarnates-at-a-later-time Hero 1 and Stheno...
Also, it suggests that each Species has it's own "Well" and incarnate power giver...
Soooooo I'm proposing the idea that: Merulina, the "goddess" and life-giver of the Coralax who traveled the cosmos then crashed in the waterz was indeed an Incarnate of Alien Origins. One of the first Alien Incarnates we've been introduced to in a round about ways. Merulina then died at the hands of another extraterrestrial Incarnate, and her "immense power, of the type Merulina wielded, is never lost - only transferred" went to the Leviathan, Mako, and all the other Leviathan Mastery Weilders. [I would like to see more Alien Incarnates beyond player PBs and WSs getting the human incarnate power]
[This suggestion is for that to become part of game lore, or expanded upon in game.] I would really like to see an expansion of the Mu/Oranbengan stories expanded and interacting more. Ancient Wars and Powerful Civilzations arent likely to stay quiet for long when so many emerging incarnates are appearing and aliens are invading.

SO my suggestion:
There is a wealth of races and species of peoples in the game, several with their own cultures and societies. It would be cool iffffff... they all took an intrest in the coming storm and increasing turbulance in the world. The Virtea could come out of the waters and fight alongside the coralax to protect their watery domains [with the issue that also releases the long awaited secret surprise water power sets and aquatic/atlantis themed zone with lots of bubbles and leviathan mastery powers, water-colored poison and hydra-head powers going off in all directions :P], the Kheldians can have progress in their ongoing battle with the nictus, the tuatha can decide to make a truce with humans [and thus become a new MM pet set like Woodsman sort-of has]. NOW... where was I...
Oh yes, mastermind customization in the form of badge unlocked alt-skins in the form of in-game NPCs, i.e. banished pantheon zombies, behemoth demons, tsoo ninjas, knives of artemis mercs, clockwork bots and destroyers as thugs. ...oh wait... that's another thread XD
but seriously, I expect an all out Intergalactic/Interdimensional War to happen soon and I dont see why any species or races should ignore it if it would threaten their entire species/world. Coalitions like never before seen should be popping up all over the place.
Also a suggestion: please make lore pets have the option to not glow and be see-thru [i know it makes sense for them to do it, but i'd also like to play as if they didnt]
I apologize for the mess, but that's how it just comes outDid i miss any races/aliens? Any other ideas for the plethora of critters?

god what i would give for a Meelee "Field Support" AT:
Thorn Assault / Poison
Kinetic / Storm
Energy Assault / ForceField
obviously the sets would need some balance and tweaking, forcefield most of all, so the secondary consists of team buffs, enemy debuffs, and a little self buffs [but they mostly do this already]. up the hitpoints, damage of a defender i'd say [more than troller, less than blaster] give a new inherent and BAM... these combos would make me need new pants. this AT would be amazeballs.

I'd also like to see another AT with the MM pets, but not sure how that would happen. More Hitpoints, different inherent [obvi], Primary is Self/Team Buffs [similar to SoA secondaries], secondary set is the pets with a little higher dmg on the Player's ranged attacks, increase End cost for secondary set attacks. Call it the "Field Commander" AT and... BAM!
yes it's different than a MM, and would play different. :P
