  1. Put a 50 in the SG. My 50 corr alone racked up 1 mil prez just running lv 50 papers and SFs. I suggest a 50 brute also and the run tv liberate mission or Sis Arlia's missions in Cim.
(You can do AE at lvl 50 also, if you want tix instead of recipe drops.)
If you prefer to play the market, convert your profit into prez.
It's possible to get a decent base for 800k prez.
  2. Soul Mastery not in the running?
SM has a good AOE in Dark Obliteration. Gloom is great for Single target and also has a taunt effect. I use it to pull Rom in ITF and heroes in RSFs.
Darkest Night is useful for its to-hit debuff.

That's because the original intent for AE is not for farming. AE is being exploited to farm, and allowing a tix->merit exchange is just another exploit to farm.
There's a facebook game out there that allows you to farm and is free with no monthly sub fee. It seems like a waste to pay $15/month just to farm.
So I vote no to tix->merit exchange.
  4. Hi All,

I know it seems early to ask this, but given how software gets built and tested, I thought I'd put the word out sooner than later.
I did my trial account during Winter events and loved it. I was only lv 14 but still got to participate in bringing down the Winter Lord and snaptooth. I loved opening presents.
So this thread is for suggestions for the next Winter event which I hope will happen again.

Events/Missions: I don't mind taking down Lord Winter, but I listed it here if other folks have ideas.

Presents: (Is it obvious I love presents?)
    - More holiday costume pieces
    - increase costume drop rate? I opened a lot of presents and I think out of the hundreds I opened, I didn't get costumes. The jetpack drop rate is ok, I think.
    - in addition to holiday jetpack, how about skis or ice skates for temp travel power?
    - Maybe make jetpack drop rate higher in zones 1-10? That way, lowbies get a travel power.
    - temp pwr for aoe snow. Snows for 1 min.

Ski resort: It's pretty cool already, but I listed it here if anyone had more ideas.

    EDIT:
I found a wish list from folks in the Player Help forum, so I'm posting the link here.
    Winter Holiday Wish List
  5. When I was fresh noob, I found that Dark Kingdom and Shadow Souls were the most helpful. Because of your playing time, I suggest Dark Kingdom because we have a bunch of members in Australia and Hawaii that are on around your time. If you need an invite, just ask for Dark Kingdom in Cap or send me a tell when I am on. I'm usually around as Voltez Y.

I actually have an elec/elec at lv 40 right now, but I didn't think it was good enough and shelved it. It felt weaker than my shield. It's frankenslotted right now, so I'll give it another shot with better sets.

Picking a baseline will help make comparisons easier. Also, SO builds would have a hard time with anything over +2 for completing these tests. In general SO builds and builds under 1 bill take twice or three times as long to complete the tests versus 2 billion+ builds. Some builds do better in Nemesis but take longer in others and vice versa.
The type of farm does play a factor in how well the brute takes to kill. There's enough AE farms out there that are geared toward a specific powerset. Just use the farm that is weakest against the powerset. The same can be said of the TV Lib and the Mercy Egg farm as well.
Some folks have tested their builds in AE already and my guess is that even though SS may have lower damage than claws, the damage is good enough to take out the minions/LTs. If that's the case, then having a bigger radius is a plus.

Here's some brute tests for those who want to try: (Aptly named Brute Tests #1, 2 and 3) The time limit is 30 mins. Defeat all.
Set diff to +2 x8 for all tests.
Farm ID - 449116 (Nemesis Farm)
    Farm ID - 449127 (rikti)
    Farm ID - 449129 (freak)

    Please record:
    Time complete:
    Infamy/min if unable to complete:
    Insp use: Y/N
Build: (SO only) (1 bill or less) (2 bill+)
    Prim/Sec/App/PPP

There are 3 categories for the builds. Please indicate which build you have.
    1) SO only - slotted single orig enh only
    2) 1 bill or less - frankenslotted or set builds that cost 1 billion or less
    3) 2 bill+ - builds that cost more than 1 billion

Sorry to sound noobish, but which door? The door that the mobs spawned out of? Or any door?
I usually ToT in Grandville by the warehouses which has rows of garage style doors. Do I click on those? Thanks
  14. We have a bunch of Australians in Dark Kingdom, so you're bound to find someone to team with. Just ask in Cap for a Dark Kingdom member for an invite. I play to about midnite Pacific time (1 am CST?), almost everyday, so you'll probably find me since our hours overlap. I'm usually on as Voltez Y.

    Brute for RSF

I haven't played enough brutes to form a preference. I can only say what worked and didn't work for me. So far, I have:
    * lv 50 elec m/shield: great on lv 20-40 SFs, ITF, but can die from alpha strikes in RSF even with Darkest Night. Decent AE farmer, bad against Nemesis
    * lv 50 stone m/stone a.: taunt magnet, slow as molasses and kills slower than elec m/shield. Didn't pass my longbow test at +1x8.
    * lv 39 elec m/ elec a.: ok on lv 20-40 SFs, but I seem to pop more insp compared to elec m/shield

Thanks all for the replies. Invul seems to have a lot of votes. Anyone else have experience with other armors for RSF?

ATM, no preference. I would guess that I need a secondary that has a good selection of single target dmg for the bosses and aoe for the mobs. I tried stone melee and didn't like it much. It seems to kill slower than elec melee for mobs. However, Elec melee is a bit lackluster for single target. I'm leveling a couple of brutes with SS to see how that works out.
Also, I don't have Going rogue, so I don't have the option of bringing a tank from blueside.

    Brute for RSF

    Hi All,

My elec/shield does ok with RSFs, but I'd like to be more survivable. I'm leveling a SS/Stoner and a SS/Invul. I was wondering if other folks have other combo recommendations for RSF. My additional requirement is a budget of 1 bill to outfit the toon. I'm fairly new to the game, so I'd like to try out the build before pouring tons of money in it. So if a particular combo needs more than 1 bill to make it perform decently, I'd prefer not to use it.
After a bunch of RSFs and ITFs, if I can play it decently (note emphasis on possible user error), then I'll consider respecing it with purples.
    Thanks in advance.
  18. Honestly, I'll play my non-purple 50s thru Incarnate content. (or will attempt to. ) Being able to purple my toons is icing on the cake. I have been able to play all the high level task/strike forces without purples so I think it really depends on people's playstyles, ie, whether they want to drive a ferrari or ford on the same 65 mph highway.
  19. I have an ASUS N71JQ-X2. I run CoX in Ultra mode and have minor delay in Cim and RWZ raids.
It does get hot, so I suggest a laptop cooler.
  20. The Eye of the Leviathan. That thing is GINORMOUS! (O_o) And it stared at you while you attacked it.
Runner up is the Goddess Hequat mission. Me and a friend did it and I managed to finish it with 1 pixel of HP left. Thank Mu for Mu Guardian heals.

The market. Recipes->Other. Set level min = 1, max = 10. Click toggle 'For Sale'.
From my experience, each temp recipe can have 3 versions. Pick the one that doesn't use 2 mil salvage.
  22. I prefer to put set IOs or common IOs at lvl 20 and keep them under lvl 30 because high lvl SOs don't work when you exemp for a SF like Tarikoss or Silver Mantis which has a max level of 20 and 25. Having the IOs still work while doing 1st respec (max lvl 33) really helps with those pesky vines.
Since my common or set IOs are between 20-30, they will still work while I do the SF and when I'm doing my lvl 40 missions.
Any TO/SO drops that I get go to the market or quartermaster.
When I get to 50, I use my 2nd build and slot it with 35-50 sets (depends what I can find). This 2nd build will be for performance so I can survive ITF and RSF.
  23. Just want to share what happened in Cap recently. I found it amusing and pitiful at the same time. Chat went like this: (names modified to preserve anonymity)
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon B: lvl 32 dom lft
Me (crafting at Univ): why don't u both form a team?
Toon A: I dont want to form a team, I want to join one.
    Me: Well, then, good luck
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon B: lvl 32 dom lft
    ( ... etc ... )

I form teams often, but the team and me may be somewhere else other than Cap. When I do a search, I give priority to those who have the LFteam flag set, regardless of whether they're 10-20 levels below me.
After I grab all those with LFT flags, then I will ask anyone who is not in a mission if they want to come.
Broadcasting repeatedly in one zone has a low probability of my inviting that toon on the team, unless I'm in that zone.
  24. The combo that didn't work out for me is Stone M/stone A. It failed my longbow test at +0 x8. It has a SO + frankenslot mix. The main problems were that it killed too slow and the over time, the debuffs piled up. I don't have money to pour into the build so I put it aside.
My elec M/Shield D passed the test and didn't even have tough and weave.
  25. It doesn't have to be Monday. I can run it anytime I'm on, which is 7 - midnite pacific time on weekdays and after 10 am on weekends. For the folks that missed Monday's run and need the badge, send me a forum PM with your online times and I'll schedule a run for you.
